I've been asking the same question. It really makes no sense.

It's not about being cool with it. It is more about do we want better gameplay on the field or the opportunity to earn XP. I wish we could do both. Completely. I never played DD but I liked seeing myself earning XP and stubs. Especially since I could turn those into franchise budget. It's a trade-off and about the benefits of making adjustments versus earning XP.

Truthfully until they took it away I had no idea it was linked to DD programs or whatever.

The fact that they still haven't implemented it is indefensible at this point in time.

If I remember correctly, they said they tried putting rotating interleague schedules before and it completely broke franchise. At this point, I think the game would have to be built from the ground up in order for them to put it in. And you really can't do that on a yearly cycle game. Having rotating interleague schedules would be nice but in the grand scheme of things, it seems like such a small issue to have. I would like to actually see what percentage of players actually move on to year 2,3 etc of their franchises. Because if the percentage is small, then only a tiny miniscule fraction of people are going to see that feature implemented. Believe me, it's a feature I'd like to see in there.

Still haven't downloaded the game yet. Going to get it via the game pass thing from Xbox. Are the SDS roster(s) ready for primetime yet? Been hearing they are bad out of the box. Sorry if this was answered already.

            For franchise? NO

Ridin's Rosters should be much better and the first iteration should be released in like a week or so.

Sorry but that's bull. Every baseball game that came prior had rotating interleague schedules. It has to be a basic concept for every game before the Show to have it. Sheesh, even MVP NCAA Baseball had doubleheaders and rainouts. It redid the schedule on the fly. All Star Baseball had schedules that dealt with incoming expansion teams. Those programmers put SDS to shame in that regard. There are even ways they could get around it, by putting in pre-made or real life prior schedules. They chose to do nothing. I give the programmers credit they do a lot of things better than the past games, but this little thing, they can't do? Come on!

I remember one of the high heats on pc had a schedule generator. You put in season length and it generated a schedule. I wish the show had that.

You obviously didn't read what I wrote after that. I want to have that feature in the game. All I was saying is that there is a reason why SDS hasn't put it in. I for one, choose to believe what they say. If they say they've tried and it completely broke something, then I believe it and move on. Maybe one day they'll get it in. But it's not a hill I'm going to die on.

Re: MLB the Show 21 Q&A

I was going to stick with MLB The Show 20 this year by playing it on my PS5 but I managed to finally get an Xbox Series X today that was bundled with MLB The Show 21. Looking at Digital Foundry's comparison it looks like the Xbox port suffers from the old TV camera angles slowdown that plagued The Show on PS4 up until a couple years ago when the PS4 Pro options negated those (and playing the PS4 version on PS5 completely eliminates), which is disappointing.

Has San Diego Studio commented on whether Xbox performance can or will be patched to improve it closer to PS5 parity in the future?

Are you going to get Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate? You should get it and then sell the included MLB The Show 21 game and download it from Game Pass instead.

Haha, that was another thing! I believe I have Game Pass Ultimate until June from that $1 deal they did at the start of the year that converted my old XBL Gold sub from last year. I guess I could try selling it, but since it's on Game Pass I wonder if I could even get half of the $70 that I had to pay for it in that bundle.

I’m with you dude. I always point to how Madden still can’t get their preseason schedule to rotate. And not just in-game, but over consecutive iterations of Madden I’m playing the same ******* preseason schedule. That’s every bit as bad as this, and from a bigger franchise. I have no problem believing that it’s not something they can just fix, if they could they would have a long time ago.

Frankly I don’t even like inter-league play anyway so I don’t really have a dog in the fight. Would rather they work at some kind of custom schedule feature at this point anyway since this is apparently never coming.
                            Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

You are referring to the Gamestop bundle correct? Your local Gamestop might just take the game back for a refund. Some Gamestops might require the full bundle and no, you can get much more than half if you sold it on offerup or whatever. You could ask for $70 which means people are saving on tax or ask $65 or $60 but I would try taking it back to Gamestop first. When it comes to returns, you should be able to depending on the store.

Interesting, I figured I'd have to return the console and extra controller as well if I tried to return the game, but I'll have to look into this. Cheers!
