If that's not true, let me know and we'll figure something out.
In game, he's on $5.2 this year, and hits FA 2023.

I just checked spotrac, which shows him as having club options in 2023 and 2024. These don't tend to be included in the game as far as I'm aware, which is a shame.

Not sure what to do to keep things realistic in that case because there's no way Arizona would just decline his option and let him walk. I guess I could let a random team sign him and then send a couple of their prospects to Arizona as if they had traded him.

Ah, just looking at bbref and I see that now. Bbtv must take the options into account, since they seem like no-brainers to pick up.

Best bet might be to *cheat* the system a bit, and extend him as soon as you get him for the two extra seasons. Dollar value might not match up, but I think it's a more reasonable way to roll.

Value-wise at that point, you're probably looking somewhere in the middle between Gallo and Ketel's current value. If you go the other way, and just go for the rental, I'd peg him slightly above the other Marte's trade value, which netted the Marlins Luzardo (which was an overpay).

So for all you trade gurus in here. Give me your evaluations on the trades made irl based on the site you guys use and knowledge you all bring. Curious if by our standards here on OS if these trades were fair valued or not.

The site has actually written a couple of articles already about the deadline day trade that make for some interesting reading:

95% of the trades would have been accepted using the site's model.

From a Jays fan perspective, if you had told me a week ago that we'd give up Martin and SWR for Berrios, I'd have laughed at you, but here we are.

Thinking about it now though, it does make some degree of sense. I mean, the White Sox gave up an absolute stud in Madrigal to get Kimbrel which is a mind blowing overpay (IMO).

The market for starters and relievers was virtually non-existent, so a major overpay was obviously required which, going forward, we can probably take into account when evaluating trades here.

Back to the Jays, it obviously shows that they really believe in guys like Manoah, Moreno, ORELVISSSSSS(!!!), and some of the other young guys. I honestly figured it'd be Pearson/Lopez or something along those lines when they first announced that Berrios was likely to be flipped to Toronto, but I can live with this.

Remember friends-Prospects are for peasants. Or, for billionaire owners who don't want to pay for talent. Either way, flags fly forever.

Hey guys new to the forum and will be starting up my Texas Rangers Franchise. Wanted to keep it as realistic as possible and wanted to see if I should trade Gallo what I should trade for, or should I keep him?

To keep it as realistic as possible, trade Gallo for what the Rangers got for him in real life lol.

I mean they did pretty good on the return. Duran is a 50fv (read top-100 type) and Josh Smith has had an excellent showing in pro ball after being an SEC performer. If you thought the Rangers would get a top-25 prospect that wasn't going to happen

Can a franchise mode start with all trades off until after the first session is done and then be turned back on? Or is 30 team control the only way to avoid the cpu trade logic

Chris Sale, Dalbec for Freddie Freeman and a bad pitcher with a bad contract? Possible? I really want Freeman and I'm no good pitching with Sale personally apparently so I'm to the point where I'm willing to trade him if that's possible. Thoughts?

This is only possible if the Braves are 100% absolutely out of the playoff picture. And I am not certain this is enough value going back because Sale is a wild card coming off TJS

I'm finishing up my MLB 20 season and in the offseason I'll be wanting to make some deals that reflect what really happened with the Cubs in the offseason after the 2020 year. However, given the player performances I'm likely going to make trades that reflect that. So I won't be giving Darvish away to the Padres for absolutely nothing. Instead I'll look to get a few better prospects. Same with Schwarber. I'm not letting him walk. He's had a great year and is still under team control going into 2021. I may trade him to Washington but I'm definitely NOT releasing him outright.

Playing with the Mariners hovering just over 500 at the deadline but need a quality starter looking at either Sandy Alcantara or Kyle Hendricks both Marlins and Cubs last in there respective divisions.

Why kind of deal would get this done realistically?
I’m assuming some package around Kelenic, Julio Rodriguez or Emerson Hancock

Game wise it seems pretty fair since you don't have to worry about pitchers arms falling off or fan base attachment to veterans.
