IMO, the simpler the deal for Ramos, the better. Can't see them including a 22 year old SS in a deal just to get Danny back from the Jays.

Same deal with Seattle for Murph. If they're way out of it, you could probably just send the Rowdster and someone like Riley Adams to make sure they still have that catching depth. The more Luis Torrens plays for them, the less valuable a 30+ year old Murph will be. I also feel like Rowdy's value is going to keep dropping on us, especially with the impending real life 40 man roster crunch the Jays are going to have. Saw the other night where 40%+ of people figure he'll be the guy that gets DFA'd, which won't help anything.

Could I get Goodrum with Ramos? I think that would be 2.2 SV. What would I have to give the Tigers? Someone like Kloffenstein? I could use the bench bat as I haven’t gotten much out of guys like Espinal or Panik

Tellez is playing well for me so I’m not in a rush to move him but would use him or Jansen / McGuire to get some bullpen help at the deadline

Just going back through the thread and I found this to be a great idea to kickstart a ‘soft’ rebuild.

Wasn’t going to use the Phillies this year, but now I feel like I have to.

I'm playing my Reds franchise for the foreseeable future but will definitely be playing a Phillies rebuild save after that. There's a lot of cool ways you can go with it.

Side note: Ramos got DFA'd yesterday, so I think we're spot on with just firing a random piece for him!

Normally I use the trade simulator on baseball trade values. Obviously that only works for so long, so my question is, how do you justify trades after you get 2, 3,4 seasons into your franchise? I am in season 2 and tried to buy a title with Minnesota bringing in Kluber and so far it hasn't gone well. He's pitching decent on a small 2 yr deal but I think I want to trade him to a contender. But how do you decide what's fair without being able to use the evaluator? Age, overall, contract and try to make it work with minor league potentials I guess? 2 C's equal a B potential?

I mean, you can certainly try the original formula that we use to use to try and work it out? I think the main thing that you'd need to consider is that if you signed Kluber to a small, 2 year deal, the other 29 teams in the league had every opportunity to sign him as a free agent and outbid you ever-so-slighty, but didn't, so they're likely not going to give up much for him, right?

To me, if you're going to move him, you're looking at a couple of very fringy-prospects as the return (maximum). The main benefit for you at this point is just getting that money off the books, however minimal it is.

I traded DeJong and Carlos Martinez to the Twins For Berrios and Polanco.
I noticed that Polanco's best offensive season was in '19 while primarily at SS. . Before trade he was the Twins 2nd basemen off the bench.

Thoughts on the trade ?

Going forwards maybe this thread should be titled ‘MLB The Show Realistic Trade Discussion Thread’ or something similar. Would probably help clear up the confusion that happens once in a while.
