MLB The Show Trade Discussion Thread
Looking for any power hitting, inexpensive glitchy players for my Tigers franchise. Any suggestions?
Would prefer to keep things as realistic as possible.

Re: MLB The Show Trade Discussion Thread
Hey all, I am running a Tigers franchise (I am still on MLB 20). I am looking at trading away J Schoop, W Ramos, Grossman or Mazara. I would be looking for a catcher of the future for sure (someone that could plug in this year or worst case next season). Probably an OF for the future, 1b, 2b/SS of future as well. I think catcher is the most important to get back though.
I don't have any stats or standings in front of me. I know I am in Mid to late May. Chi, Min & Det are top 3 central. NYY, bos and Tor lead the east. Hou, Sea are tops west. Atl leads east. Everyone else in east not doing that great. Cin leads cent, Chi and Mil are in the hunt. SD and LAD are tops in west.
I know Col, Pit, Wash, Stl, Arz, Tx, LAA, KC, Cle, Balt are on the bottoms of the divisions and out of it at this time. Balt, KC, Tx, Stl, Pit, Col are all over 10 games back.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks guys for the insight. I know I will have to attach a young player to get anything good. I will check BTV site when I am ready to make some moves and then see what y'all think.Comment

If the Red Sox suck (They should...scoundrels...) a JD Martinez reunion would mean taking on 2 years of a bigger contract, but his SV is only $4.3 mil...
Colin Moran has always been a bigger bat for the Pirates. Would just need to send them a lotto ticket.
Jorge Soler is a FA after year 1, but if the Royals fall out of it, you could probably get him for around $5 mil...his SV is 3.2, but given that it'd be in the same division they'd ask for a bit more.
Any other teams that have fallen out of the race?2025 Expos Expansion:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1295163793Comment

Re: MLB The Show Trade Discussion Thread
After a month it looks like I will contend with the Yankees for the AL East and will be looking to make a good playoff run. My catching has been a dark hole. McGuire and Jansen have barely hit anything. Kirk has been okay but is hurt. Riley Adams has one hit in 6 at bats, but again is young
I am looking for a relatively cheap catcher (somewhat older with some playoff experience) that I could count on cone playoff time so the catching spot isn’t an easy out. Would be open to a 1 year rental.
Thanks!

-Wilson Ramos from the Tigers wouldn't be a bad option...SV=$0.7 mil.
-I've always like Dom Nunez because he hits from the left side...SV=$2.4 mil
-Jose Trivino isn't a horrible option if the Rangers fall out of it and are ready for some Sam Huff time...SV=$7.4 mil
-If the Phillies fall out of it, Andrew Knapp is cheap...SV=-$0.7...they wouldn't pay you to take him, but it'd be worth firing them a low C prospect for the versatility of a switch hitting catcher.
-Is it time to steal Chance Sisco from the O's?!?!
-Alex Avila isn't the worst option if the Nats fall out of it.
-Tom Murphy=$5.7 mil
-Go LARGE and get a little bit of Keibert Ruiz from the Dodgers!!!...SV=$25 mil (This is a pretty big stretch, as I don't see the Dodgers moving him without getting a major piece back. He's pretty fun though!)
-The Brewers always suck in my franchises for some reason. Omar Narvaez is a cool dude and is worth $12.8 mil if they fall out of it.2025 Expos Expansion:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1295163793Comment

Re: MLB The Show Trade Discussion Thread
I'm the Rockies in the offseason following year 1 and I was looking into trading Marquez to beef up a relatively weak farm. He had a career year with a 3.30 ERA and 170+ Ks, but I didnt know his value since a year had passed. I was looking at the Jays, Twins, and Braves as options. Potential packages or other teams are appreciated.

Thanks for this. I like Ramos, Nunez and Knapp. They are around my price range.
What would it take from the Jays to get Ruiz? He would fit in well with this explosive young team so I wouldn’t mind paying for him.
Also, what could I get for Jansen (12 Mil) or McGuire (1.2 mil). I think if I moved Jansen it would be for a top bullpen option or rotation help/ a platoon option against LHP. If I move McGuire it would be for bullpen help.
My starting pitching has actually been good. Ryu, Manoah, Ray, Pearson, Matz.

Re: MLB The Show Trade Discussion Thread
Season 2 of my Twins franchise. We are still competing but nothing special. I am in a bit of a situation. Cruz retired and Donaldson's stats are dropping as he's aging. My big hitting lineup isn't quite what it was last season. What's worse is now I always have 1 of Sano or Donaldson in the infield, usually at 1st base, while the other DH's. Donaldson is not terrible but his contracts massive and still has 2 seasons, where his attributes continue to drop... Sano is a strikeout machine as well as a liability in the infield. He still has tremendous pop when he gets a hold of the ball so not useless, just would prefer a better fielding and perhaps a little speed in my lineup. Sano is in and in the last year of his deal. Think I might just want to move on from him and see what I could get for him, if anything?
No idea where to even begin though. Prospects? Established, lesser talent but fills a need?
I am startign May and around .500 Donaldson is hitting .245 with 3 HR's, Sano .225 2 HR's, 21 K's.....
Any suggestions where to start looking? Thinking of handing one of at the All Star break to a tyop team for the playoff push as a rental to improve their chances at the title this season.Sacramento Kings San Diego Padres Dallas Cowboys Liverpool FC

There's really 3 options for you here:
-Tack on a prospect or two that combine for a $10 mil SV (Doesn't seem like a bright idea)
-Trade him to a contender that has a major injury at 3B or 1B, take back a bad contract, and then you might get some sort of return (Think Liriano to Houston, from Toronto, in exchange for Teoscar Hernandez because the Jays also took Aoki's contract)
-Just eat the last year of the contract. DFA him, waive him (Maybe someone will claim him for nothing?), release him, move on...2025 Expos Expansion:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1295163793Comment

Re: MLB The Show Trade Discussion Thread
I’m in year one with the Blue Jays and I’m approaching the deadline. I need a high leverage arm for the back of the bullpen and an ace to help me in the playoffs. I was thinking of renting Scherzer and acquiring Karinchak from Cleveland.
Washington is well out of the race and Cleveland easily has one of the leagues best bullpens. Maton, Karinchak, Clase, Shaw, Wittgren, Quantrill, etc are all posting excellent numbers. Cleveland’s issue is their lack of offensive output and their outfield. Given that my outfield is currently filled with some combo of Teoscar/Gurriel/Springer/Grichuk/McKinney, do you think a package around Gurriel for Karinchak is fair? I also have Tellez in AAA who Cleveland could also use.
As for Scherzer, would something around the Darvish package work? Something like Kirk+ a lottery ticket?Comment

What are your thoughts on these deals:
1) DET: Ramos (C, 0.2), Paredes (3B, 11.2), Goodrum (SS, 2)
TOR: Jansen (12.3), Taylor (0.9), Jimenez or Young (0.5)
2) LAD: Ruiz (C, 25), Gonzalez (RP, 9), Neuse (3B, 4.9)
TOR: Martinez (SS, 26.6), Jansen (12.1)
3) LAD: Ruiz, Nelson (RP, 1.8)
TOR: Martinez
4) SEA: Murphy (C, 5.5), Munoz (RP, 10), Moore (UTL 5.6)
TOR: Jansen (12.6), Tellez (1B, 6.4), Kloffenstein (SP, 2.3)
Or I guess I could just give Detroit someone with SV of 0-0.5 for Ramos??

Same deal with Seattle for Murph. If they're way out of it, you could probably just send the Rowdster and someone like Riley Adams to make sure they still have that catching depth. The more Luis Torrens plays for them, the less valuable a 30+ year old Murph will be. I also feel like Rowdy's value is going to keep dropping on us, especially with the impending real life 40 man roster crunch the Jays are going to have. Saw the other night where 40%+ of people figure he'll be the guy that gets DFA'd, which won't help anything.2025 Expos Expansion:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1295163793Comment

Re: MLB The Show Trade Discussion Thread
This is reasonably close value-wise. As I said above though, it seems very weird to me to see a team moving their most valuable piece (Nola), and discounting his value by attaching a bad contract (Kingery), then also throwing in a pretty solid prospect to boot.
I also find it weird that a team that is attrociously thin in CF wouldn't ask for your top prospect, who coincidentally is a CF. 3B is covered long term for the Phils (Bohm), SS is covered through 2022 (Didi), 2B is covered through 2022 (with an option for 2023-Segura). Not to say that Torres isn't a better bat than any of those 3, but with the amount invested in Didi/Segura, and Bohm being an up and coming bat, all combined with the fact that there isn't a DH in the NL (yet...), I just don't see it. Frazier showed last year that he is a solid bat, and started to show that he can play a bit in the corner OF positions (He's played 9 total innings in CF in his career), but again, they've got Cutch and Harper. I don't really see them moving around $35 mil to the bench.
Nola
Marchan
Gleyber
Domiguez
Deivi.
Or, take Marchan and Deivi out, and sub in Schmidt and Way/King.
Just going back through the thread and I found this to be a great idea to kickstart a ‘soft’ rebuild.
Wasn’t going to use the Phillies this year, but now I feel like I have to.
