Re: Franchise Players, with Y2Y saves confirmed to not be back, what is your plan?

well I am glad I stopped playing 21 then a few weeks ago I made the right choice my rosters are 100% useless now for the future so glad I didn't create more work. save it all for 22 and a new franchise, I didn't make the same mistake as last year thinking I could just continue. so I am not as angry this year as last year.

it sucks though we still can't create NON rookie players .. yes we can make players have service time but the game treats them as a rookie because they have no stats...

As someone who always buys every other year, I'm fine! (Apologies to those who are saddened by this news)

Not a critique in anyway, but I'm generally curious, as someone who doesn't buy every year: If you want to continue your franchise, why not just keep the game you already have and save the $60/$70?

I don't even know how carryover saves work with updated face scans, player they no longer have the rights to.

      (Be gentle, I'm just asking)

obviously I can only speak for myself but the main reason I don't like playing multiple seasons within franchise mode and within one years iteration is I can't play a franchise knowing there are teams thaI just never will play against is quite disheartening

because there is 6 months of roster work there GONE just like that.. you can't continue using it the following year. instead you gotta spend MONTHS upon MONTHS of creating players again. that is why Y2Y saves was good. your starting scratch every single year this is PS3 days we have gone backwards here.

This is the second year in a row without carry over year to year saves. I would really like to know from San Diego Studios if they envision carry over year to year saves ever returning to the game!!! I think a lot of people would like to know the answer to that.

XBOX and now being on the switch would be my guess. it's to complicated.

What I hate the most is we are back in the stone ages of ps3 days of 40 year old vets being CAP rookies now with no stats. unless we 'wait' for a SDS update if the players happens to be in the majors this year

Do they want it to return? Yes

Will it return? In an ideal world yes, but it’s a difficult feature to maintain while also attempting to add things and features the fans want within franchise mode.

So I don’t know even if they can definitively say whether it will return or not.

Just upgraded to 21 thinking for sure Y2Y saves would be back..

                  I'll buy again when,

                  It is released for PC
or they unleash customization options similar to 2k

                  They've lost me otherwise.

These guys are headed off the same cliff as EA. Just driving a different vehicle. So extremely disappointing.

Glad its on gamepass so I can save some money. I played 2 full games on '21 cause there was no motivation without Y2Y saves, where normally I would play 200-400 games a year even without advancing my save.

I definitely get the roster work, that's never a fun process. But why not just stick with the version you have?

That logic holds up until the point you realize that they have not and will not make meaningful updates to franchise, no matter the circumstances.

I hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't bet money on it.

I'll continue to stick with 20 until franchise gets an update worth consideration.

There are a lot of us that have stuck with '20 for that very reason. Whenever I want my baseball fix, I go play '20. It still has my carryover save from '14 for RttS. Appears it will be the last The Show game I'll purchase.

well for a start Cleveland Guardians?? gameplay changes. and lots of other things. for me it is mainly about rosters sure. but last year I was pissed that I started a new franchise and march came and they said 'sorry no Y2Y saves this year' so I stuck with 20 last year till September for that reason because I had invested time into a franchise. and time is critical in my life with young kids

This year I just stopped 2 weeks ago and glad I did. so I will get 22 day one. as I am not investing time into 21 anymore knowing this.

I'm torn. But if I'm being honest here, I held off a month before buying 21 for this same reason, but I broke down and got it, and I haven't stopped playing it since spring of last year.

So mostly likely I'll get it. Especially if I get the PS5 which is in the works.

While I appreciate Y2Y saves, I've always liked starting fresh with each new game. So no Y2Y saves doesn't bother me.

That said, my plan all along is to stick with MLB 21 for another year. I'm invested in my current franchise and very happy with 21. I don't see a reason to change until I get a PS5, which probably won't be until the fall at the earliest.
