That's hardly mode specific. Franchise has a ton of issues that have just been left to linger that are mode specific.

A significant change would be something like a revamp of the progression/regression system. Move it to the offseason, making the offseason more involved. Make regression based on performance, since attributes dictate contract negotiations. Right now it's very possible to have an all-star MVP ask for platoon money and time. Copying elements from the NHL series would be a good idea too.

The system is so obtuse, random, and detached from other systems as it exists right now, and after over a decade of use, desperately needs an overhaul.

Sadly, I will not be purchasing for the 1st time ever. I hope SDS reads these posts and realize what's happening to many of their loyal fans. To take away 2 of its most precious parts was the final nail!

Most things have been said already but here's my 2 cents.

It's clear that it really depends on what kind of player you are.
Me, I'm a 52 year old dinosaur that like to play a franchise with classic rosters.
Well, to be true I always played season mode with classic rosters, but we all know they took that mode out without informing us.

I still love playing '20. It looks fantastic on my ps5. It has all the classic rosters that I want, but lacks the classic stadiums.
'21 is the other way round : it has a lot of created classic stadiums, but not the classic rosters to play with.

I bought '21 in a sale last year. Played a few games.
It is really not a bad game at all, but for me it was not worth the upgrade even though I bought it on sale.

'22 seems to be going the same way - for me. No y2y saves, no classic rosters, no sounds of the show.
They do give us night games in the created stadiums, but let's be honest : this should have been there already in '21.

As a company I understand they cater to the crowd that makes them the money.
This is not only in the video game industry, but in general life.
Damn, I'm starting to sound like a grumpy old man.

Anyway, have fun with '22 everyone. I'm sure it will be a great game.
I'm just very disappointed it's not my game anymore.

Pretty disappointing no y2y saves once again. Not even roster y2y roster saves.

Only thing I've noticed nobody's talking about is COLLISIONS!!

              * I guess 1 positive thing different from 21 to 22. If I read it correctly there will be finally COLLISIONS to players so hopefully a call off button. I could never stand players running thru each other for over a decade when MLB 2k7 had them.

Re: MLB The Show 22: Year to Year Saves Remain Out, Stadiums Will Not Transfer

This has been a gradual removal over the years in my opinion. I think it was 18 that Season mode was secretly removed. I have always been a franchise player but season mode would have worked great for rebranding all 30 teams to NCAA and play a reduced season (60 games) or so.

Last year I didn’t purchase 21 as the loss of Y2Y and reviews made me hold off. It sucked for a few weeks but I quickly got over it. This year’s decision not to buy is one of the easiest things I have ever done. SDS has now saved me around $150 and I’m extremely content playing my old franchise and using historical rosters. Nothing like a good pitchers dual between Bob Gibson and Juan Marichal.

They have moved on in their chosen direction and I have moved on in mine.

Thank God for MLB TS 20. Didn't get 21...not getting 22. Guess SDS does not care about losing loyal buyers. And please, no apologists...it's a sad fact over the past few years. Community has been screaming for specific items that have largely gone ignored...and no, I don't just mean the OS community.

It's a new age. Doesn't mean I have to buy in.

I'm a The Show buyer day 1, but maybe not this year. If there is not any next gen graphicsn meaning player models, implementation of team color shoes for base coaches(phillies,A's, Cubs & etc.)
I am still enjoying playing MLB 21 Braves franchise would love to continue that roster. Maybe if Playstation Studios misses $1 million in sales they may listen to us franchise players gripe..

Indeed. Without year to year saves, this will basically kill off the majority of roster makers, CAP makers, etc. Goodbye replayability. Goodbye classic rosters.

I realize before Y2Y saves people still made amazing rosters and CAPS. But it took an incredible amount of time to make the rosters to begin with. I know, because I make a couple of classic rosters back in the day. Y2Y saves made it much quicker to just carry things over. At this point we are going backwards.

Not to mention the fact, if this came out on PC it would make roster and CAP creation a breeze....Oh well.

                          RIP The Show

The only thing that will make them reconsider is money. The only way to do that is for a very large movement to not purchase the game.
The problem with that is getting everyone to stand by their guns and refuse to purchase the game.

The fix Madden franchise movement did absolutely nothing as it was just worthless complaints and meaningless threats. Money is what talks.
