Show "insiders" and apologists aside, to fall back on an "it's too complicated" explanation in 2022 for what amounts to a database management change is ludicrous.

To say "we can't throw any resources at this because they won't allow for it in our yearly budget" is legit. Anything can be done as far as manipulation of file structures and creating db mapping schemes, even across various architectures.

I don't believe it is too hard or would take too long. I believe there is no ROI on them doing something like that, and that drives the decision....not complexity.

The two probably go hand in hand. It's very complicated and we don't have the budget/manpower due to that at the moment.

Y2Y saves or any one certain issue aside...

Sorry, but we're paying $60+/year for this game and some people on PS5 are paying $70+ for the game. I have a lot of respect for the dev team and have been a loyal customer to them for the better part of 15 years now. While I am no "expert", myself and many others included know a thing or two on where it lacks and how it can improve. It is a great game, but there's a LOT left to be desired and much of it has been ignored for almost 10 years.

Sure, small improvements and tweaks are welcome and appreciated but at some point you ask yourself if it warrants paying full price for. I know a lot of people including myself have picked it up on sale or at the end of the year because we can't justify paying full price for tweaks which, in the grand scheme of things, don't have an impact on the larger picture going forward. You can put a fresh coat of paint on a fence but it won't look the best it can unless you sand off the remaining chips first.

I love the SDS team. But if the reason they don't want to visit OS is because of some disappointed, passionate fans then I don't know what to say. Regardless of whether or not we make up less than 1% of the consumer base.

People can go over the top here and on other boards..that's for sure. But OS could help here.

A good model might be to have a private thread area where OS coordinates the top 25 or so questions from the community and the devs could provide answers either offline and submitting back to OS mods, or in the thread itself.

The thread would be locked for all but dev and mod access.

I know there would be willing members here to put together a top 25 list that is presented in a constructive, non combative way.

Nail on the head, CB. People ask for answers, they’re given answers from the horses mouth, and they’re called liars or not talented enough.

They can’t win for losing. People want transparency, and when they get it, the answer isn’t good enough so F SDS , right?

You’ve said enough, you’ve done your part and provided answers that you didn’t have to share. Myself and many others on this board thank you. It’s time to let these people who will never be satisfied just go about their business and let it be.

You’re enjoying the game, I’m enjoying the game and so are most of us here. Easier to just let it be and leave the “experts” to it

I've bought the game, and thus supported SDS for a decade. MLBtS is the only reason I owned a PS4, and now a PS5.

Many supporters, and those chiming in here go back to the PS3 days. Those fans/supporters deserve better than Covid/budget excuses.

I am just happy to have some information from SDS on y2y saves and am grateful that CB shared it with us. It doesn’t matter if I agree with their explanation or not. Everyone has the option to buy the game or spend their time and money elsewhere.

In the end, it's a business and they are making business decisions. If giving loyal supporters everything they want makes them lose money, they why would they do that? We really can't make surmises based on what we think is going on with their business, when we really have no clue.
