Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

Haven’t started one in 22 yet, but I’m going to continue my plan from 21 by instituting a salary cap with budgets off. I set a $200m cap (sorry dodgers) and then manually trade high cap guys to teams with the lowest payroll. I try my best to have the trades make sense in terms of positional needs for each team.

My rule is that a team can add anyone during the season and go above $200m, but has to be back under the cap by Spring Training.

Another rule I instituted is that I can’t trade guys in the first year of their contract, and I also attach prospects if trading a high cap guy who has a low overall (like David Price, again sorry Dodgers).

This is by far my favorite thread each and every year. I always enjoy reading the experiences, decisions, and results of other franchise players.

I have started Spring Training with my Cardinals. We are doing the Traditional DH and have turned off the extra innings runner rule. I have rosters set up to my liking so time to dive in and not look back.

        Up first is the Astros.

Can't wait to read your franchise updates. Always a fun read that makes me want to turn my MLB on.

Thanks for starting this thread up, CB! This is probably my favorite thread in all of OS and I always enjoy reading everyone's stories and franchises throughout the year. It usually gets me in the mood to fire up and play myself.

That being said, starting tonight I will be streaming all 162 games of my MLB 22 franchise this year. So I'm excited to share that with you guys! Look forward to all the posts as well. Happy MLB The Show 22 early release!

if I remember correctly, a couple years ago, we got some kind of update for early release but apt pf the roster things weren't updated until the general release date. And keep in mind this year, the season has not started yet and rosters aren't finalized so not sure if they'll bother to update it all with transactions and ppl that may just get cut in two days

Right. Thats usually how it goes.

I was just saying that I was probably going to save the default/pre-update roster so that if I wanted to I could reassign all the free agents to whatever team I wanted to. I will most likely wait for the first update with all the new players added before starting my franchise, but it's good to have options

I know this is a long-shot, but is there any difference as far as spring training rosters go this year? (Straight 40 man) guessing no addition of extra roster slots?

[emoji853] maybe one of these years we’ll be able to have extra roster slots for ST. Non roster invites would be so cool.
