Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

My franchise team for MLB 22 is ... the Toronto Blue Jays!

I'm a big fan of the logo and uniforms (I own all 3 versions of their hat) and while there's a lot of talent on the team, they are playing in a very tough AL East, so it is going to be a challenge to make the postseason.

Going All-Star default, Classic pitching, Directional hitting and Auto field/Manual throw to start. Will adjust difficulty as needed.

While I'll miss the management aspect created by pitchers hitting, the rosters are geared for Universal DH, so I'll stick with that.

So after a rocky few days, I am ready to officially start my franchise. I wish I was further along, but maybe it was for the best how things worked out.

      Time to chase #12!

Well I did something like this....LOL

I cannot play with universal DH and I still wanted to use a few roster changes that I had previously so I did those and I'm off and running. I double, triple, and quadruple checked my rosters to make sure everything was good before starting up. Then checked again inside franchise mode.

So we're officially off an running for 2022 after a few hiccups. Wasn't fun, wasn't pretty, was frustrating as hell, but its amazing how being at the virtual ballpark eliminates those frustrations.

The hunt for October has begun!

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

If you look under the soto trade one, their community manager says there's a fix coming in an update. So maybe it gets fixed?

This is the first year I've thought about not buying the game and playing franchise... but I think I'm going to cave... at least eventually. If I do I'll be running a Cubs franchise as always.

                      Cubs vs Reds

Game 1: 4-2 loss to the Reds. Hendricks was cruising through 6 but in the 7th got in trouble and gave up a two out 3 run homer to Moustakas. And Farmer added a homer of his own in the 8th.

Game 2: 3-2 loss. Stroman threw 7 shut out innings. Once again had a 2-0 lead in the 8th but Cody Martin gave up a 3-Run home run to Votto and that’s all she wrote.

Game 3: 5-1 win. Wade Miley against his former team threw 6.1 innings allowing one run. Wisdom hit a 3-Run homer, Schwindel and Contreras both hit solo shots.

                      Onto the Cards.

SDS pushed out another roster update last night, Kimbrel is on the Dodgers now. Transactions should be fully updated as of last night. The answer to that depends on if you care that some guys are missing still, but you’ll have to wait 2 weeks to get them in an SDS update. Suzuki is the obvious one, but DrSublime from here on OS has a good CAP of him in the vault if you want to grab that version of him for now. Then there’s a few other notable names, like Robinson Cano and Ken Giles, also missing.

Other then that, the rosters are probably in the best state they’ve ever been in this early.

Well, I caved. I bought it, but I’m still really disappointed that the new playoff format won’t be put in the game in an update. For someone that strives for realism, this is very difficult for me to overlook.
