Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

Well since my job of creating my own rosters and such went to hell in a hand basket, I'll be playing with the roster update that came out. And I'll be going back to my original setup which is using the Universal DH. While I'll miss the management aspect created by pitchers hitting, the rosters are geared for Universal DH, so I'll stick with that.

So after a rocky few days, I am ready to officially start my franchise. I wish I was further along, but maybe it was for the best how things worked out.

    Time to chase #12!

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Ugh idk what to do. I want to start my cubs franchise so bad but no real Seiya Suzuki turns me off. Yea there’s one in the vault but I know I’ll just restart when he’s added in a roster update…

Welcome, to another year of Detroit Tigers baseball on MLB The Show. I will be using the universal DH, but no extra inning runner as I despise that rule haha. After playing a couple games of spring training last night the final roster was finalized for this upcoming season. This team will start out on the West Coast for the first 7 games of this year, starting with the Mariners who look to make the playoffs and end their drought. The Tigers will look to improve upon their record of 77-85 this year, by getting to at least .500, being competitive in a division which looks prime for a very down year, and being somewhat in the playoff race hopefully come September.

They very likely won't have a face scan.

The vault one may actually be better than what SDS comes out with. But I could be wrong.

Tigers sign John Curtiss, Jarred Dyson to 1 year deals

In a move to end spring training, the Tigers signed RHP John Curtiss to be in their Major League bullpen, as that was the biggest struggle coming out of Spring, the 28 year old will look to build upon his past 3 good seasons and help bolster the pen.

Jarred Dyson however, will not look to be getting any action in Detroit anytime soon, as he was signed on a minor league deal as a depth piece, one with good speed and field as he will look to provide what the Tigers want in an outfielder. However which some of the young guns making their way up, IE: Baddoo, Hill, Cameron, Greene, Reyes, it will be hard to see him getting a callup/start over these players unless they are ruled to be unprepared.

Not sure if I should start my Phillies franchise after work tonight or I have to wait for SDS to make a correction.

Does anyone know if a change to a players weight will come through regardless of your roster if they aren’t a created player from the vault?

Not quite a series recap but thought I should share. Last year, I was a HOF Hitting Legend Pitching guy. This year I've been Legend for both, and I just threw my FIRST EVER NO HITTER!!! And if it wasn't for a damn throwing error by Torkleson trying to get it to the pitcher, it would've been perfect

Not quite by who you'd think either, game three of the series, Michael Pineda of all people, only 5ks, just pitched to contact and the Tigers D came through. Really through the first 3 games our pitching has been surprisingly good, or the M's O surprisingly bad, but nonetheless I don't care I'm so pumped to finally throw one. Closest I've ever been before was a 2 hit performance and that was in RTTS a couple years back haha.

Spring Training 2022 has come and gone as the Cardinals finished with a win over the Astros to finish the exhibition season 15-13.

The best thing is that the Cardinals are healthy heading into Opening Day.

Not too many surprises but the Cardinals did keep Anderson Tejeda over Branden Donovan and elected to keep LHP Brandon Waddell instead of LHP Kyle Ryan. It was thought that Waddell would be the top rotational piece at Memphis.

Other than that, its pretty status quo as to what you would expect.

Here is the 26 man Opening Day Roster:

                            C - Yadier Molina
                            1B - Paul Goldschmidt
                            2B - Tommy Edman
                            SS - Paul DeJong
                            3B - Nolan Arenado
                            LF - Tyler O'Neill
                            CF - Harrison Bader
                            RF - Dylan Carlson

                            C - Andrew Knizner
                            IF - Anderson Tejeda
                            IF - Edmundo Sosa
                            OF - Lars Nootbar

                            SP - Miles Mikolas
                            SP - Dakota Hudson

                            RP - Brandon Waddell

                            CP - Giovanny Gallegos

The Cardinals will open the 2022 season on the road against the Pirates for 3 games and then head to Wrigley for 2 against the Cubs.

Tigers start season 4-0, SWEEP Mariners
What a way to start your season. 4 big wins against a team that they could be battling later on down the stretch. Tigers pitching was often the catalyst as they only allowed 6 runs through the first 3 games, but game up 7 in a back and forth affair which saw the Tigers hit 2 7th inning homers to take the lead and win 9-7. Big performances would big Schoop's 5 RBI 4 hit performance in game one, Pineda's no hitter in game 3, and Baez hitting 2 homers in both game 2 and game 4. The good omen for this season was of course Miggy leading off the scoring in the 1st inning of opening day with a 2 run shot haha.

The one downer is Victor Reyes fractured his shin sliding into 3rd in the 4th game, and will be out for 1-2 months, so he was placed on the 60 day IL. The corresponding move to account for him was adding Jarrod Dyson to the 40 man and bringing him up to fill in for now, as the minor leagues have not started yet.

Well we opened the season last night with two wins and a solid outing by Wainwright in game two. I'm working on getting a feel for the sliders I have in place. Really enjoying the commentary and presentation refresh so far. Animations are smooth and feel fluid. Tyler O'neil has had a big start to the season hitting a HR in each of the first two games.
