To be fair, a great percentage of that majority were disappointed from the very first gameplay picture/screenshot/video shown of this game and are just continuing to share that disappointment.

And they will continue to do so in every thread that shares something new about the game up until release and then a few weeks to a month after release before running out of steam.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Yesssssir! Biggest one here for me would be minor league stats sticking to the player card, which would be a huge win IMO. I've got a long, long list that I could go on about for days, but just to pick one here, one of the fun things from both NHL and NBA 2K is that they generate stats for unsigned/undrafted players. Imagine having this for A-ball/draft eligible players?

I'm hoping this is at least part of the draft experience that is supposedly being upgraded. I'm semi-worried that it's just going to be 100% presentation based, and not an overhaul of scouting, which would be a bit disappointing.

That was a tough watch. I have to believe the developers are aware with the growing resentment towards the visuals; so here’s to another year of hoping it will be addressed next year.

At this point, the schedule change and new rules will be the only reason I purchase ‘23. I love ‘22 and would gladly keep playing it. I do hope the presentation/commentary continues to improve as that was done really well last year.

Yea basically really want more data. Like close to OOTP level details. I can forgive graphical updates if they gave more immersion. I bought the game last year after not buying for 2 years, I got bored within a month. I used to play the game year round. Its been the same damn game for 5 years.

The schedule change and playoff format are the main things for me. I'd stick with 22 if not for those. I am excited to see some of the tweaks they made for 23 though. The clutch thing has me really intrigued. Holding out hope they've made some franchise and presentation changes as well.

I would love to know how many polygons a player has from MLBTS, Fifa and NBA2K. To me it looks like on MLB there are far more less details.1865538b9f719-screenshotUrl.jpeg1865539c30487-screenshotUrl.jpeg186553abfaa56-screenshotUrl.jpeg

IT does look a lot less. The helmet seems like it has more polygons than the face.

The image quality is pretty bad tbh. Dunno how to upload in high resolution.

I'm really liking/intrigued by the new quirks. And happy that they removed the passive ones that served little to no purpose at all.

I'm hoping that pickoff artist isn't overpowered and will be something I mess around with in the tech test.

Now we are talking. That would be huge. It is so annoying when a player goes from AA to AAA you cant see his AA stats anymore unless he goes back down. Its those little things. That and maybe making A ball an actual league as there is no value in a player sitting there not playing and getting no ratings increase or anything

Re: MLB The Show 23 Gameplay Feature Premiere - Plenty of Details

As a clean-screen guy, that feature premiere did absolutely nothing for me.

                              - I don't use button accuracy so the throw meter stuff does little for me. Acknowledging that this may still have spill-over effect for button throwing with no meter, but throwing errors were not really the issue in my experience, it was the lack of fielding errors. So while this will impact the game for us clean-screen guys as well, it boils down (for us) to just being a re-tuning and nothing notable.

                              - I don't use the swing feedback display so none of that stuff matters to me. Hopefully it will keep the online guys from whining so much.

                              - Don't play comp, so don't care about that tuning. That said, hopefully none of those changes will spill over into simulation style (I don't think they will in all fairness).

                              - DH in DD. Pretty pointless addition (for me) with the lack of 9 inning game content in the mode for offline players.

                              ....then the clutch thing....

It fundamentally does not make sense to me. "Clutch" is rather dubious as a concept to begin with - there's tons of sample size noise and bias to appropriately measure it. Now SDS is using it as a complete replacement for the fundamental hitting/pitching ratings (which are generated on significantly larger sample sizes). From a player authenticity (i.e. ratings-generation) perspective, this is a questionable decision IMO. The bigger question though is will the AI be given the appropriate programming to understand this fundamental change in the game's design? Will it properly weigh higher clutch values in high-leverage, run-scoring situations (for pinch-hitting/pitcher changes)? This is something that should have been addressed last night.

So, for me, this was a very lackluster development cycle but given how darn near perfect '22 was for my style of play, that may or may not be a bad thing....though the clutch thing is the wild card.

I feel similar. I'll buy '23 because I'm assuming its '22 with some improvements, and I love '22. But yesterday's stream mostly didn't have anything to do with how I play the game so it didn't move the needle for me as much as some of the other stuff will. I'll be more interested in the stuff they show us later. Hoping that clutch rating isn't "overblown"......
