To me it seems too many check swing calls go against the CPU hitters so that's making strikeouts even easier.

Re: Too many strikeouts
Oh wow, well good to hear we're seeing a variety of results, which is a testament to just how good the engine is at the end of the day.Comment

Re: Too many strikeouts
I’m having much better strike out numbers with that setup. But I can’t make the CPU pose any kind of threat no matter what I do. AI offense is dead this year. At least from my experience.Comment

Re: Too many strikeouts
Unfortunately the more games I’m playing the more I’m seeing a weak CPU offenceComment

Re: Too many strikeouts
Just played a franchise game Pads vs. Brewers. I used Legend Pitching with CPU Contact and Power both at 6 using Pulse Pitching.
Seth Lugo was my starter. Ended the game with 9 total strikeouts and gave up a home run, and few a doubles and 7 runs total. I'm thinking this is the way I'm going to go for the next several games to see what results look like. I'll update this thread as I go.
Do you have your control and consistency at default? I’m looking to try a few things to balance the cpu offence and strikeoutsComment

Re: Too many strikeouts
Just played with these settings with Classic Pitching against Houston and gave up 2 home runs and 6 runs total in the first inning. Confidence has a lot to do with what we're seeing as well I think.
I really like Pulse but it does get to easy to hit your spots even at the Legend Level I'm afraid.Comment

Re: Too many strikeouts
I seen that last year as well. You find a setting and the cpu is perfect and is giving a good balance but then all of a sudden it slowly gets weaker and you have to turn something up. It is like the settle in.Follow me on Twitch

Re: Too many strikeouts
Seems like it's too easy to get your pitchers confidence high. One good inning and they're untouchable the rest of the game. You used to have to have several good innings before you got your confidence up.Comment

Re: Too many strikeouts
I also felt this way in 22, in general I’m not a fan of the confidence system, it too OPComment

Re: Too many strikeouts
I played 22 again after around 25 games of the show 23 and man strikeouts were so balanced last year. I really don’t understand why they made this change, felt unnecessary imoComment

Re: Too many strikeouts
It almost makes the game more arcade than true simulation. And I'm sure it will not be patched since it was something they promoted on their streams. Unless they do come back and say they went too far on it.Follow me on Twitch

Re: Too many strikeouts
I'm kind of baffled as to why they thought we needed more K's as well. Didn't seem like anyone was asking for it.Comment

Re: Too many strikeouts
I think online players were complaining that it was too easy for guys to stay alive forever because they could foul off pretty much everything and they wanted more K's. Unfortunately this change seems to have had a negative impact on offline simulation as well.Comment

Re: Too many strikeouts
With about 15 franchise games played, I thought I would share what I am seeing. Very small sample size but I will share anyway.
Playing on all star, classic/directional with near default sliders. Only changed starter stamina for both to 6. No other changes besides that.
As far as hitting, I am striking out 7-8 times per game. Only once did I reach 10 strike outs.
As far as pitching, I am striking out CPU hitters about the same I am being struck out. It's about 7-8 times per game. Twice I reached 10 K with totals of 10 and 11. This was against a lower end team with my top 5 pitching staff
I sucks that there are people seeing this issue but it is something I haven't seen yet. The CPU seems to have better at bats than they have had previously.
Just my take.Funkycorm
