I normally try and keep the roster close to real life in my franchise but I wanted to try and switch it up this year. My plan was to sign JD Martinez but I’m $3 million over budget as soon as I start my franchise so it won’t let me. Looks like I’ll have to add him outside of franchise and start a new one

I think I will either add him or just turn off budgets when I start my franchise.

Heads up to anyone using the Mets, Bader has the incorrect number. They have 4 instead of 44 and it defaults to 5 since Alvarez already has 4. No way am i letting him wear David Wright’s number

They’re close enough to budget that you can dump a player or two and be able to afford JD. They need to fix the budget system because the teams that spend big aren’t able to make any moves once the season starts unless it’s a salary dump. Much better than last year though when they started $70 million over budget

I'm playing right this very moment, JD and Snell are both still on the FA list.

This is why you wait two weeks into the season to begin a franchise or RTTS

The main weakness on the Mets is 3B and having a good back up 2B/SS. Wendle and Short are not that good

I am considering signing Elvis Andrus off the free agent list to be my back up 2B/SS.

Heads up on minor leaguer Christian Pregent. He looks like another unfinished player that slipped thru the cracks in regards to attribute ratings. He's a catcher down in A ball, but Spindler has his blocking rating left at rock bottom zero. He either needs released ASAP, change his position to RF, or give him a blocking rating of 38, which I believe is the lowest blocking rating among catchers with a blocking rating above 1. Yeah, there were a handful of other catchers around the minors unfinished, who have a zero blocking rating.

Not in my Showniverse. Boras screwed the pooch and cost his client $15 mil in my franchise. I snatched him up like a fat kid on a donut. Got him for $10 mil and change.

Yes he is still a FA in my world. I have a house rule that I can’t make a trade or sign a FA until the CPU breaks it open first. Nothing yet but I will definitely be looking at him when that happens, I have enough budget room but was thinking maybe a couple of guys for that same $10m might be better. Not sure if he would make as big of an impact on my team as two good players would.
