It’s hard to take the comments “monopolized it and destroyed it” seriously on a forum/website that voted the most recent version in the series sports game of the year.

Having absolutely nothing to do with the addition of women, and everything to do with the lack of improvements in every legitimate area, if not regression in many, this has gone from easily my favorite video game to a company I absolutely despise at this point.

You can say if you don’t like it don’t play it-fair. You can say don’t come on here to talk about a game you won’t buy-fine. Point is, most of us are baseball purists, lovers of the game, and people who grew up loving the sport and the video games. When they’ve monopolized it and destroyed it, to have some serious anger seems more than justified. Especially after the amount of money we’ve given this company over the years.

It’s Also a sad state for sports games in general.each year there used to be such excitement for releases. Tons of new gameplay changes, new immersive additions, graphical leaps, instead over the last ten or so years we seem to get updates. It’s like every major sports title is on 2015.9.

Also, I think the women’s mode would be a great mode to keep and don’t have any issues with it. It’s the fact that it is yet more deodorant on s pig, something they seem to do in Lue of improvements that prob take more time and effort that the community is upset about. Outside of the few true my soho sits, any attempt to spin this anger otherwise in utter nonsense.

I can agree with some of what you are saying though I guess I’d say more disappointed than angry.

I’ve bought this game every year since 06’ maybe 07’ but I haven’t just “given “ them my money. I bought a product that I fully enjoyed ( well most years at least). Was no charity involved.

I’ll keep the hope that I enjoy the game this year. But I am running out of patience. ( with all video gaming actually).

Checkout Million Dollar Arm. If they can figure out how to turn cricket players into baseball players, it's less a leap to turn a fast pitch softball player into a baseball player.

Looks like Whitmore might have a face scan. Out of curiosity I checked her 4 year pitching stats and she’s awful. Be interesting, as this IS a baseball simulator, how they come up with her attribute ratings.

That members of this forum haven’t yet figured out that franchise die hards and simulation purists are not the core audience for this game and haven’t been for nearly a decade now is a genuine surprise. The core audience is where the numbers are and where sales are driven. It’s been ages since franchise mode did that for any sports series.

Just an immense display of how many dense dudes expect everything to be catered specifically to them. Is the concept of expanding the customer base really that hard to grasp?

They can make her a 99 OverAll, and say that's her Diamond Dynasty version. As much as I'd like women to be good enough to compete in the highest levels of baseball, I truly doubt I'll see one good enough in my lifetime. But, I really do want to be able to use the Buttermaker line ''Lookit the butt on that secondbaseman.''

I think there’s just frustration being expressed by most. I’m sure they will get the game. It will be interesting after all is said and done if this is a plus, or a bud lite moment. Thursday will certainly have an impact. Bottom line tho, we don’t have much choice.

people just want developers putting time and effort into all aspects of the game , not just storylines and unrealistic possibilities .

Agreed. Shelved 23 in June because of how stale it got. No way I buy 24 bc they haven’t shown a single thing to earn my money this year. Shame bc I have played every version so much for a decade and it’s so stale now

A lot of people say this but then just a lot of this forum just ****s on every new development - whether it’s a substantial thing like the new scouting system in franchise last year or little but meaningful details like animation tweaks - as if they’re nothing.

That stuff takes effort and the mindset here is that it must not take much because we aren’t having our cake and eating it too. But obviously the stuff OS users don’t want must’ve taken 90% of SDS’ time this year.

If there's a place in baseball for Pete Rose type players or Ichiro type players, I could easily see the gender barrier broken by a woman, but probably need to play second base. But don't go by me, I can envision a day where a woman plays in the NBA and the NFL.

How do you figure? Too date, there have not been any women that have been competitive with men in upper level college or professional basketball or football (or baseball), and given that women are significantly smaller, slower, and weaker than men across the bell curve, that seems unlikely to change, barring significant rule changes to attempt to minimize the impact of physical size and ability.

There is the choice of not buying it, albeit won’t have much of an impact on sales since the casual gamer makes up for a majority of sales and doesn’t care about the details like we do.. I’m personally on the fence this year because I’ve dedicated time to previous years franchises that I’d like to continue with.

This isn’t me making some sort of stand or an STFU to SDS. It’s just for me, if not enough has changed to make it worthwhile for how I like to play the game, then I can just keep going with my previous franchise and wait until next year. The new features they’ve shown so far aren’t enough for me to buy this year, but I do welcome them as good additions.
