Is that true? I guess it's all about the comparison with other sports, but I've never thought that women could hang in baseball more than others. It's definitely a severe disadvantage when it comes to pitching.

Right, that comment is all about the comparison to the the other sports. Baseball would the most likely of the 4 Major Sports to see a woman make the Pros. Not the NHL, not the NBA, not the NFL.

So in that sense yeah put women in this videogame. But make it creative and fun and truly accessible and enjoyable.

So rather than improve a single aspect of the game, they decided to focus on replaying history and playing make believe for the future. Look, I'm all for including this as a throw-in feature, but it can't be the focus of the game. A woman making it to the MLB has never happened in 150 years, and probably isn't going to ever happen. Maybe it will, and it will be awesome if it does. But its a longshot. If anything, they should include Alyssa Naken as a coach in the game. Or Kim Ng as a focus around a revamped GM mode. Rather than focusing on things that are unlikely to ever happen in the game of baseball, I really wish they would have done ANYTHING to focus on the franchise mode that hasn't changed in a decade which is... ACTUALLY something that is in the game of baseball.

But if they do a PSN trophy for "Complete a full season with a female RTTS player," and it gets more than a 5% earn, I'll be shocked..

SPOT ON!!! 5% is a high number, the 1.8% that have earned the trophy in FC24 to just play one women's match is too high a number... I would be shocked if what you mentioned got over 0.1%...

I have ZERO issues with the inclusion of females into the game. Just keep them out of Franchise as players or umpires because the fact is, Franchise Mode is played mostly by baseball purists, and we have never seen a MLB professional baseball player or umpire in the sport... If you want to put them on the bench in a cut scene as a trainer, or maybe allow for a woman to be the GM, I have no issues with that. Just keep Franchise PURE!!! I don't want to face Susan Johnson with Hunter Greene's 98MPH fastball in a game in May... If they screw that up, then we might as well allow mascots to play in Franchise mode... I mean who doesn't want to pitch with Mr. Red Legs or the Phillies Fanatic??? Or being called safe at second base after stealing a base by the Pittsburgh Pirate Parrot???(Sarcasm and eye roll)

To be fair there is woman umpiring in spring training this year and she’ll umpiring in AAA this year. And there are women officiating in the NFL and NBA so I don’t think having a woman umpiring in the show is that crazy.

Putting yourself in the GM or Managers chair - Make Believe
Having Ohtani pitch to Babe Ruth while Johnny Bench is catching -Make believe
Creating a player and advancing that player to the majors - make believe.

I have 0% chance of ever being the GM of the Cardinals but the game does not stop me from pretending to be exactly that, so why shouldn't females have the ability to live out their fantasy of playing for their favorite team alongside their favorite players in RTTS?

Sure, I would love more substantial updates to go along with this but I am not going to simply dismiss this feature as a joke like many seem to be doing.

In fairness, 94% don't even make it to the All-Star Game in Franchise/MTO, going by achievements. I guess we should just scrap those modes too.

It's not like anyone on this site is going to make the majors, but they still let you make yourself in the game if you're a guy. People getting upset that women are in RTTS because it's unrealistic while also making a version of themselves that's remotely athletic is irony.

We're talking about a mode where you increase your skills by applying cards earned from packs and getting more power from a new pair of batting gloves or whatever, but we can't have a woman player because "that's not realistic"

Yep anyone who is disappointed or frustrated or upset with this years game is a bigot and probably a racist. I'm not sure why they even play the game anyway since it already has a so many people of color.

Also not sure if anyone saw but it looks like Kelsi Whitmore is going to be a new great legend that Sony got the rights for. Hopefully they give her a good enough card in game to respect her as such a legendary icon for women's baseball.

I kind of feel bad that this has apparently hurt you in such a deep and meaningful way.
