I can't believe THE SHOW put the amount of resources it did in to adding a female player. I have no idea how many women play THE SHOW, but they are openly praising the woman who inspired this massive overhaul. Have you seen her pro stats? She can't hit or pitch....yet they call her the Ohtani. Perhaps I am missing something?

I am all for women players who can play MLB but using this person as the basis for spending the resources is a head scratcher when so much still can be improved in the base game.

I doubt it took more resources than adding Retro Mode, probably more like adding any one single new player.

Yeah, in real life we're at least 50 years away from being there. At least. But since it's in The Show now, whether anyone wants it or not, for whatever even so much as a valid reason, is irrelevant. If Sony isn't going to remove dinosaurs and UFO's, I think it's safe to say women will hang around awhile too.

Do you really believe they made their resource allocation decisions and feature implementations based on one player?

The more likely scenario was that they have wanted to add women for years and when they finally were on the verge of implementing it they went out and found someone currently playing they could use to help promote it.

Good news is the world is changing and your concern about her pro stats or whatever has already been deemed irrelevant. It's weird that you're willing to reach this deep in order to (badly) justify having a problem with it.

There's no reason to tear this woman down for successfully getting a new feature added to the game. A pro male player has never achieved getting even your favorite feature added to the game.

Stop with the silly shaming attempts! I just linked you her numbers over a 5 year span. What males are marketed with career best era at 9 runs/9innings? What males are marketed with a career best batting average that is less than .100?

The pro stats are relevant because they market her saying the amazing things she's doing as a pro...so had to see what it was about.

I'm not tearing down this woman...I'm tearing down her stats which she is doing all by herself. As I said, I am all for women in any sport playing if they have the skill to back it up...I can say the same for many men except they are not being marketed or completely overhauling a game experience for that person.

I doubt it took very much resources to add the ability to create a woman in The Show. Snip, snip, done. It's a good idea the same reason a manssiere is a good idea. Without, you're only utilizing 50% of the market. I also really doubt you see a woman show in your gaming experience unless you so desire. I won't add any to franchise nor do I expect to encounter any. And on the off chance I do, I'll edit.

I mentioned this to a degree in the other thread, but I am certain there is not an off button. Though maybe if you turn off the (forgive me forgot what the is called in game) feature that keeps legends out of the FA franchise list that will also work. I know there is something that kept the Mike Piazza of the world from being in the FA list or a way to turn it on, so they were.

If someone with a body type like Freddie Patek can play major league baseball, I'm pretty sure at some point a woman will too.But instead of playing shortstop, I figure she's more likely to play second base. She may or not hit 41 homers like Freddie the Flea, but the amount of 100 mph heaters thrown nowadays, I'm sure a woman could hit 40 out too. The such high velocity of a fastball is going to do part of the job for her. And if you've seen some of the female bodybuilders, you already know some of them can lift more weight than some men in baseball. I just hope the first woman to play isn't so strongly motivated as guys like Bonds or more recent guys like Tatis Jr or Robby Cano that they feel pressure to take an easy shortcut.

Also, I'm assuming it took no more time to add a woman body type than it did to add Retro mode.

Size and strength play a part, but if you’ve ever played the game of baseball and not with a controller, bat speed generated and velocity are the key factors. You don’t have to be a body builder to have a higher bat speed and generate a higher exit velo then Dwayne Johnson. Then you add in the factor of the wood bat. You have to use a wood bat a certain way and have a smaller sweet spot. My point is not a male or a female thing, it’s a baseball thing. Yea steroid era made players stronger, but also recover quicker. Steroids didn’t make Barry Bonds bat speed quicker, he could recover and stay strong for multiple games in a row. He was a great player with pencil thin Pittsburg pirates playing days. He had an unbelievable eye and could hit the one good pitch when he got it. That’s not body size.

Nobody knows for sure. I guess the question becomes, especially in RTTS since that is where the feature is announced, will the game create new random minor leaguers as females. If not, then just don't create one yourself and you are golden.

I personally would not mind either way but agree that a simple on/off option for it would alleviate a lot of concern without hindering those who want to see females randomly created the further into RTTS you get.
