I don't think you have much to concern yourself with here. It seems like RTTS is its own world more or less, and there is a diff storyline for RTTS depending on who you pick anyway. The only legend is in Storylines as well so I don't think there's much crossover anyway into franchise.

Re: Players Can Create and Play as a Female Ballplayer in MLB The Show 24 Road to the
That’s quite a generous statement. Nuclear power was ingenious. The small pox vaccine was ingenious. I’m not sure marketing a feature to a few thousand more people could be filed under ingenious.
At the end of the day it’s still baseball. A baseball game that’s been on the market for over 20 years. Do you really think there are millions of women out there thinking to themselves “you know. I’d really like to give the show a chance, but I just don’t feel my sex is well represented there. So I am going to go play animal crossing instead”?
I saw someone in here mention “if you build it they will come”. Sure. You don’t know until you try. That I can accept. But a lot of your are acting like SDS is leaving millions of dollars on the table and they all of a sudden just stumbled upon a secret formula to all of sudden boost sales. I think it’s great you can now create a female character in the show. I think it’s great you can do it in other sports games if you so choose. I don’t think it’s great that they invested resources in an entire game mode for the addition that we really didn’t need.Comment

I imagine there are an extremely low less than .01 percent of female gamers that had an interest in the Show 06-23. We will see what happens going forward from 24 on. But staying the way it was previously definitely wasn't going to get many women interested. Let's see if this moves their needle. I would be thrilled to death if OS member Cats With Bats would come back around to put her 2 million cents in, compared to my 2 cents. In my ten years I *think* she's the only woman I can recall speaking up here.
And lastly, I will grant you us men probably don't *need* this addition. But I'm sure as hell not prepared to say woman don't need it. I am glad Sony is trying this tho.T-BONE.

*Ingenious* - clever, original, inventive. I can't recall a console fully licensed MLB game having an option for women. Maybe there has. If so, I take ingenious off the big board. Otherwise I leave it on.

I would think they have looked at studies like the one KSU Owls pointed out and decided it applies to The Show. The sales will tell the tale. And it may not be readily apparent to the Sony bottom line right away. I'm guessing this a long game they're going with.T-BONE.

To be fair there aren’t millions of people asking for any of the things the OS crowd focuses on either.Comment

Re: Players Can Create and Play as a Female Ballplayer in MLB The Show 24 Road to the
Companies run focus groups all the time. They’ll basically pay you like $40 to answer questions. You ask a woman though would they be interested in a game if it had better female representation of course they are going to say yes. It doesn’t mean they’re going to go out and buy the game though lol. Being interested in something and being interested enough to pay for privilege are two separate thingsComment

Re: Players Can Create and Play as a Female Ballplayer in MLB The Show 24 Road to the
Is there an actual women's league? If not, I know, "it's a video game, it's fantasy," but would they literally just invent a league full of teams, with made up players? We'd really be putting the cart before the horse then lol.Comment

Re: Players Can Create and Play as a Female Ballplayer in MLB The Show 24 Road to the
Well league of their own was based off a real women's league, they could create that. Is there another one around it's possible not sure. It's hard to say what they can and can't do cause money is always involved to use a person's name, leagues name, etc. but I can't imagine this was a one year deal. Has to be part of a bigger planLast edited by LegendKillerOne; 03-09-2024, 09:08 PM.Mets Baseball, All Day Every Day

It's not franchise , it's not female players, it's DD. That has been the big money maker for a while.Mets Baseball, All Day Every Day
