I think some of y'all misinterpreted my comment. I did not say if you don't like the addition of women, it automatically means you're a misogynist. No, not saying that. I get that people are still frustrated with the direction of the game, especially franchise. My point is that there will be some people that will take this chance to denigrate the fact that women don't belong in baseball or a game which is insane to me. I didn't point anyone specifically out or anything. I guess for me, I don't see the point of complaining about when women are finally being included in a baseball game.

Like others have said, the addition itself is cool and I don't have an issue with it. I don't want to see female prospects flooding franchise mode simply because I don't see that in the real MLB, but the inclusion of women in the game is fine.

I honestly don't know who was asking for this and doubt the data suggests this was a huge want/need in the community, but it's cool nonetheless. Maybe my views of what the community want are not accurate. Here and reddit are the only two Show communities I am a part of, but it feels like SDS has made it a priority to avoid working on anything the community has been vocal about over the years. This and the storylines focus this year seem to indicate SDS is more focused on what they want to add to the game, not what their community wants. I get they get to make the game they want to make, it just feels like both communities I am a part of are not having their voices heard and that's where I think my disappointment along with others' here lies.

Some people are weird and will find this offensive somehow, but I think when most people say "meh" to this addition to the game, it's not out of hatred or misogyny, it's out of annoyance that it seems yet another year is coming where the parts of the game that the community has been most vocal about are once again largely unchanged.

Ridiculous comment. Being inclusive does not equate to being “woke”. Boycott the game if your mysoginistic brain cant accept it. Im sure them including negro leagues was “woke” too huh?

Negro players were in The Show, women are not, so that doesn't make any sense.

I suppose you also support trans men playing in women's leagues as well and physically harming them, or are you a misandrist?

Yeah there are some comments here that are just stating they're not into this addition, that they'd rather have more franchise info etc....but others are taking it to an extreme and showing their lack of maturity/political agendas.

I highly doubt females would be in "traditional" franchise mode unless you want to add them in.

Just ridiculous for people to blame the game that already has smallest bit of innovation on the “woke agenda”.

Also insane that the mods even have this board open and allow this type of discussion considering that people have gotten banned for calling the devs lazy. So we cant call them lazy but we can be misogynistic and say we dont want women near our baseball?

I know we probably aren’t getting any major franchise updates but it would be nice if they updated the draft and let us go into it at anytime. I don’t know if that would warrant a preview of that update.

My guess is that none of us have any idea how many women play the game. Of course I am not sure if SDS has any idea either. Just because female players are not flooding this forum or reddit does not mean that they are not out there.

One of the key things about online communities is they’re almost never actually representative. They’re subsets of a subset of heavy users who are personally invested enough to want to discuss the thing in question.

Once you realize the average player for The Show is someone who (if they even use social media to find information about the game) at most “likes” the posts and never even looks at the comments, much less adds their own, it makes a lot more sense that the direction of the game and the demands of the “community” may seem at odds.

I used to post pretty regularly on the Reddit and it took me a while to realize and understand this myself. People who post a lot online (about any topic) are almost definitionally disaffected with whatever they’re discussing.

I don't comment much but I visit the show forum almost daily. I've got to say the marketing for the game this year is...college class project level. This is the least excited I've ever been for this game which sucks because it is my favorite game. It genuinely feels they mailed it in this year....my slight hope is that the last few years they've been focusing on 25 as being the actual next (current) gen game. Idk I can't imagine another marketing cycle/ and essentially a ps4 game being on the ps5 again next year. If it is...I definitely will not buy next year. I'm hoping I dont regret my day 1 buy this year but....

Women played in the Negro Leagues, therefore women were in The Show.

I am still holding out hope that there are improvements to the only mode that I play(Franchise), although my excitement for the game is fading with every bit of information being released leading up to release day.


I have no issue with them adding females to road to the show. My issue is that the story lines, and addition of females to RTTS are being touted as major modes in these blogs, and I just don't see it. I tried the negro league stuff last year and just didn't find it fun at all. I would have liked to have watched the negro league videos, but grinding to get two hits with such and such a player in order to watch the next video is boring.



I have purchased this game every year for as long as I can remember, and will probably purchase this years game even though they have so far not given me "The Franchise Player" a reason too. If Franchise is untouched again, I will do my best not to buy 24, but I love baseball too much, which makes it difficult for me to resist not buying the newest game.

All of this is starting to add up as to why the game has been horribly marketed this year. They don't need YOUR money, they already have it. They didn't need to improve or add anything of substance to the game, "special funding" goals just needed to be met.

There better be a place where you can add pronouns and/or change your gender. Otherwise it’s not enough.

I'm sure that if you are now able to make a female baseball player, if you want to choose female you can choose female, or if you want to choose male you can choose male.

I hope you're right. I am ok with them being an optional add like legends are in franchise. That allows those of us who want to keep it more true to life that way and the ones that want to just have it be wide open can do that as well. I think for now we need to reserve some judgement until we get more answers. We can be critical of the mode if we want. But until we know how it will impact other modes we're all speculating.
