Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
I play this game way more than I play any other game, it's not even close. Gameplay, minus bullpen logic, I think is as close to perfect as you're going to get. I do defend the game quite a bit, but I don't at all think it's unreasonable to ask why the things that are capable of being improved with this hardware, aren't being improved. Especially if we see the trailer tomorrow and the game looks the same as it has for roughly a decade. Now don't get me wrong, I think the dev team is great, I don't think they're lazy, I obviously don't think they're just trying to piss people off. I find those comments absurd when I see them. But, I think at this point they should acknowledge that the look of the game isn't improving the way it could and should be, and maybe talk about why it isn't. Now, we could be blown away by the trailer tomorrow, but lets be honest, how often does the trailer, or final build really look that much different than the first screens we see. I'll continue to support and buy the game, but I can't sit here and say that they're not lagging far behind other sports titles as far as the look of the game goes.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
Why would you think that? Same thing happens every year, everyone has it in their minds that we're getting a completely new game, despite the developers never saying such a thing, and then everyone jumps off a bridge at the first screen shots. And the game is always good.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
Good points but I'd like to add that A) for some reason every game's graphics look like crap in the trailers and screenshots, and I don't know why that is. So I didn't overreact to these screenshots, nor will I when we get the trailer. and B) people get railroaded on these boards for thinking the graphics are good. I would feel better about a change in presentations than I would about graphics like grass and dirt. Give me updates in how the game is presented first. New shots of the starting pitcher each game, or of the relief pitcher coming in the game. Things like that need to be changed.Comment

I'm hoping these will be "fixed" so that they show up during the course of the game without letting it idle for a minute or so.
And yes it was shared with SDSI can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
Newsflash for ya...this is a yearly ritual, you've been here long enough to know this, so this shouldn't come as a surprise, the Madden boards are exactly the same, as I'm sure the 2k boards are as well.
I don't post on these boards "year round" and if I said the screenshots are not the upgrade I was expecting, so I'm debating whether or not to buy the game, this somehow makes my opinion less than those that post on this board "year round"??...People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
I don't think the graphics are bad by any means. I just don't think they're what they could be. Just a few tweaks on certain things would go a long way. I do hope they continue to build on the presentation styles though. I love feeling like some games are a national broadcast, and then some are on your local sports station.JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment

The crazy thing is that there are some really good presentation/stat overlays that only show while the game is idle for a moment.

Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
I have no issues with people who want better visuals. I have no issues with people who want better AI logic.
I have no issues with any of that. We all want a better game. I myself sat out 21 and pretty much to a lesser extent 22 because I was dissatisfied with where the game went and 23 and now 24 absolutely sucked me back in.
But one thing I never lost sight of is how I expressed my dissatisfaction. I don't think anyone here has issues with anyone expressing what shortcomings the game has had or still has. I think sometimes though the form is really bad for some posts. Be respectful.
I don't agree with some people's thoughts that this game looks dated.....I love it. I think it's a beautiful game of baseball in motion.
There are those who don't. Oh well.
I just keep playing and not worry about public opinions. I think as long as things remain civil (and in this forum they typically do for the most part) and people don't fall prey to "trolling an agenda posting" we can discuss the game like adults and agree to disagree on some aspects and move on.
No one here is part of any contrived problem......those who love the game and enjoy playing it will purchase it. Those who don't can sit it out....that's your choice.
And yes we all can be guilty of meltdowns every now and then. I remember when 21 came out I was furious about Y2Y saves and roster importing (was only there for one cycle on 20) as well as SOTS being dropped (not on SDS as Sony does not have MP3 capability for PS5 and the PS4 games are played on a separate motherboard inside the PS5). I was also very disheartened about check swings on 21 and 22 and many agreed with that sentiment and some poo poo'd it. However I never lost sight to remain civil and objective and not get into pissing matches with other forum members and also bash the dev team. And low and behold check swings have improved a ton since 21.
Now......the franchise improvements to me are debatable....yes they have made incremental improvements but at the cost of losing Y2Y? Yeah I am not so sure it was a good trade off so far. But that's ok.....I learned to approach the game differently. Why? I love baseball, I love playing The Show and I found a new way to approach franchise mode to make it very satisfying for me personally. I chose not to waste energy and lament.....and instead I chose to focus on how can I make my gameplay experience better due to the lack of Y2Y saves (which was the greatest feature they ever created to this day bar none).
If more people redirected their negative energy on "how can I make this game better for myself" vs wasting energy on complaining about literally the same thing every cycle.....well you get my point.
But again......that is your choice and I respect that. But only as long as you respect those of us who love the game, still play it and stop labeling fans of the game the problem. I am not going to complain about your complaints LOL....that's a waste of my time. Instead I play the game and you can keep on posting what you don't like.....I obviously can't help you. But I will complain about you if you are complaining that my love for the game is holding it back......preposterous hyperbole. Just stop that.
Nope....we are not the problem. That narrative is absolutely ridiculous and counterproductive to the community as a whole. People who enjoy a game that you don't are the problem??!!!
Think about that for a moment and how selfish that really is.
Sorry you don't have a baseball game you enjoy....that's on you and in your opinion on SDS....but it certainly is not on us the players who play the game and enjoy the heck out of it.
That crappy narrative needs to end.Now Playing on PS5:
