Re: MLB The Show 25 Franchise Discussion

Mets beat Marlins in game 2 of the series 3-1. Nothing really noteworthy about this game.

Game 3 of the series was a 2-1 heartbreaking loss for the Mets. Mets led 1-0 through 8 innings on Alonso’s solo shot early in the game. Bottom 9… Mets closer was a little fatigued so they turned to a different arm. Marlins loaded the bases with 1out so Mets did bring in their closer. 3-2 pitch right on the corner in the box and the ump just flat out missed the call so ball 4 to walk in the tieing run at 1-1. Next batter sacrifice fly to win the game for the Marlins.

Mets record stands at 5-1 in first place and heading home for home opener against the Blue Jays.

Jays lose on Opening Day against Baltimore 6-4. Gausman went 5 innings allowing two runs, when the bullpen came in and gave up 4 runs in the next two innings. Two each from Little and Tate. The Jays couldn’t get anything off Eflin who pitched a no hitter into the 5th.

They rallied 4 runs in the very first inning after Eflin was pulled. Home runs from Santander and Schneider as a pinch hitter made it close. However, they couldn’t complete the come back.

Baltimore put Urias on waivers after Mayo made the opening day roster. The Jays are considering making a claim on him. They might want to get more of a look at Wagner and Clement at third before deciding on a change.

There are some rumours that the Jays are looking for another RH power bat. They are considering offering Adam Duval or even JD Martinez a contract to make the lineup a little longer. Stone Garret, Nelson Velasquez and Eugy Rosario are potential trade targets.

Re: MLB The Show 25 Franchise Discussion

Well where do I begin? I was 1 month into my Mariners franchise and got sent to KC for a work trip last week. Got to KC with my PS5 in my carryon, no problem. Went back home from KC to LA and now suddenly my PS5 is completely wiped. Like my game saves for every game I had on storage are completely wiped. I am so confused. Had my MLB The Show saves, my NCAA saves, Death Stranding saving, everything. It's almost as if it did a hard reset. I had to religion to my PS5. My account was missing and when I logged back in it had none of my game files saved. I had to re-download all my games. My home page was empty as if it was brand new. Idk what happened. I've traveled with my system plenty of times. Normally I'd take the portal but the lag for The Show would have frustrated me so I took the full console. Never doing that again. IDK if I unplugged incorrectly. The TSA machine did something to it. I'm distraught. Not sure how to approach this. Don't want to restart my Mariners franchise, he'll I barely want to touch my Playstation at all. I'm broken....

Yankees Stay Perfect, Sweep Diamondbacks to Improve to 6-0

The Yankees (6-0) remained unbeaten after sweeping the Arizona Diamondbacks on the road. New York’s offense exploded for 18 runs across three games, while Clarke Schmidt, Carlos Rodón, and Gerrit Cole each delivered strong starts to shut down the D-backs.

Cody Bellinger led the charge with three home runs and five RBIs, while Aaron Judge and Jasson Dominguez each homered twice. Jazz Chisholm Jr. showcased his all-around game with a homer, a triple, and two stolen bases.

            Series Recap

            Game 1: Yankees 3, Diamondbacks 2
            • Clarke Schmidt (W, 1-0, 5.0 IP, 2 ER, 7 K) kept Arizona’s lineup in check.
            • Devin Williams secured his second save of the season.
            • Aaron Judge hit a go-ahead solo homer in the 7th inning.

            Game 2: Yankees 5, Diamondbacks 2
            • Carlos Rodón (W, 1-0, 6.0 IP, 2 ER, 3 K) was efficient in his first start.
            • Jasson Dominguez homered and drove in three runs.
            • The Yankees’ bullpen (Leiter Jr. & Williams) combined for three shutout innings.

            Game 3: Yankees 10, Diamondbacks 1
            • Gerrit Cole (W, 2-0, 5.0 IP, 1 ER, 6 K) dominated.
            • Cody Bellinger went deep twice and drove in four runs.
            • Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit a home run, stole two bases, and added a triple.
            • The Yankees totaled 13 hits, overwhelming Arizona’s pitching staff.

The Diamondbacks struggled offensively, with Jake McCarthy, Ivan Melendez, and Josh Naylor accounting for their few highlights.

Trade Alert: Yankees, Braves Swap Relievers
            • Yankees receive: Jake Diekman (LHP), Jackson Stephens (RHP)
            • Braves receive: Tim Hill (LHP), Tyler Matzek (LHP)

The Yankees bolstered their bullpen with Diekman’s veteran experience and Stephens’ versatility.

            Around the League
            • Red Sox send Zack Kelly to AAA to make room for Pete Fairbanks.
            • Mariners CF Victor Robles suffers a torn Achilles, placed on 60-day IL. Cade Marlowe called up.
            • Dodgers SS Tommy Edman fractures his leg, placed on 10-day IL. Mike Sirota takes his roster spot.

Yankees Travel to Pittsburgh for Three-Game Set vs. Pirates

The Yankees (6-0) now head to Pittsburgh for a three-game series against the Pirates. New York looks to keep its perfect record intact behind a rotation that has been dominant to start the season.

            Projected Pitching Matchups:
            • Game 1: Max Fried
            • Game 2: Luis Gil
            • Game 3: Clarke Schmidt

With their combination of power, speed, and elite pitching, the Yankees have established themselves as one of the hottest teams in baseball. They’ll look to extend their winning streak against a Pirates squad eager to pull off an upset.

              2025 Cubs

We are into May and it has been just as bad if not worse thab April. So far the Cubs are 2-9 in the month of may 14-28 all together.

Just finished off the first of 3 against the Marlins and got smoked 11-3. Pitching is still a nightmare, rotation and bullpen has been atrocious and now we cant produce many runs.

Gonna keep plugging away and hoping for a turnaround sometime soon.

Mets pound Blue Jays in their home opener 7-0. Manea with 6 shutout innings as they never even threatened to score. Nimmo and Winker were the offensive stars each with a HR. Mets are 6-1. Braves are a surprising 2-6. Mets suffered their first injury as Siri pulled a hammy and is out about 2 weeks on the IL.

Had a pretty wild situation in my Pirates franchise, last month of the season Skenes on track to win the Cy Young in the NL, until we went to Baltimore and in the bottom of the 1st he cops a perfect perfect line drive straight into his face! Played the rest of the game, expecting the worst a head fracture and gone for a year, but somehow, a miracle happened.
Head contusion out for 2 weeks! Though it would have been an interesting organic storyline, losing the team's generational talent for the long-term or I'm curious: Are there career ending injuries in the show?

                    Let's try this again...

I tried so hard not to restart my franchise, but something is starting to feel off. I feel like if I continue at this rate, Jose Ramirez and Carlos Santana are both going to finish the year at 150RBI. And Jhonkensy Noel will have 40 homers despite being a platoon player. So, what is to be done?

I'm going to restart my franchise, still using the Guardians. I'm going to use the Fidelity to Reality rosters for the first time, because I really want to focus on the long-term and take advantage of Cleveland's farm system, which is always producing talent. I also really want to support the roster guys who put in so much of their free time to give the players proper ratings AND add in the minor leaguers.

So, let's go back in time to..well, a few days ago on the real calendar and start the 2025 season over!
Cleveland Guardians - MLB The Show 25
Washington Nationals - MLB The Show 22
                    Aston Villa - FC 25

Yeah so I am also running a Guards franchise and Jose has been a cheat code in the first 3 weeks of the season. And Noel also is on pace for a ridiculous HR total.

I am going to ride it out because I've seen this game put players in hot streaks and slumps in the past. Lets see how it goes....

For sure, the game does tend to even out over time; just like real life.

This is why I hate using the team I follow in real life. I'm starting my new franchise and torn between starting with the Opening Day roster or going with what the game gives me, or somewhere in between. If I was starting with another team I wouldn't care nearly as much.

Okay, here we go. This will be my opening day depth chart for the Cleveland Guardians. If I can't get myself to stick to my half-realistic/half fantasy roster, I'm going to start one more franchise with a team I don't actually follow in real life. I'm leaning more on KC or Pittsburgh, but I hope it doesn't come to that.

I am using S&B's sliders and the Fidelity to Reality roster set.

                            Starting Rotation
                            Tanner Bibee
                            Shane Bieber
                            Gavin Williams
                            Ben Lively
                            Luis Ortiz

                            Bullpen
                            Jakob Junis
                            John Means
                            Paul Sewald
                            Tim Herrin
                            Trevor Stephan
                            Hunter Gaddis
                            Cade Smith
                            Emmanuel Clase

                            Catcher
                            Bo Naylor
                            Austin Hedges

                            First Base
                            Carlos Santana
                            Kyle Manzardo

                            Second Base
                            Gabriel Arias
                            Daniel Schneemann

                            Third Base
                            Jose Ramirez

                            Shortstop
                            Brayan Rocchio

                            Left Field
                            Stephen Kwan

                            Center Field
                            Lane Thomas

                            Right Field
                            Will Brennan
                            Jhonkensy Noel

The beauty of the Guardians roster is the ability for many players to play multiple positions. Daniel Schneemann can play the infield and outfield, as can Gabriel Arias. Jhonkensy Noel is solid in the corner outfield positions and can also play first. And when David Fry returns from injury (or when I feel like calling him up), he can play first, right, or even catch.

Since we're using the Fidelity to Reality rosters, we have different ratings for players, with more depth an realism at the minor league level. Major storylines that I'm anticipating for this season will be the status of Travis Bazzana, who could make his debut at second base sometime this summer. We also have a power bat in Chase DeLauter waiting in the wings. In terms of pitching, I'm once again keeping left handed reliever Sam Hentges at AAA to start the year (he's injured in real life) but will call him up eventually.

I get it. I haven't used my hometown team in quite a few years in the game. But now I am feeling the need to get that WS title finally.

But it really isn't easy for me to use the team that I follow in real life.

Welcome back to the 2026 Marlins Franchise. Going into the season the Marlins have kept most of the same faces adding some veterans to the team. Will this be more of the same this year with an active sell off at the deadline or will the Marlins be buyers.

                                Lineup:
Xavier Edwards - hoping he stays healthy this year, might be a possible trade candidate at the deadline
                                Dane Myers
                                Griffin Conine
                                Connor Norby
Jonah Bride - another possible trade candidate
                                Nathan Martorella
                                Otto Lopez
                                Graham Pauley
Christian Vasquez - gave him 1 yr 3 mil

                                Bench:
Spencer Torkelson - possible trade candidate if he gets hot
Joe Mack - serving as backup until Ramirez is ready
Jon Berti - gave him 1 yr 5 mil
                                Derek Hill

                                Rotation:
                                Eury Perez

Braxton Garrett - back from Injury, might be a trade candidate
                                Valente Bellozo

                                Bullpen
Randy Dobnak - Rule 5 pick
                                George Soriano
                                Andrew Nardi
                                Jesus Tinoco

Aroldis Chapman - gave him 1 yr 5 mil, had 55 saves with the Sox last year
