Game 1 : Rockies 3-4 Phillies
W : Aaron Nola (1-0. 6.0 IP, 8 K, 1 BB, 3 ER)
L : Austin Gomber (0-1, 5.0 IP, 0 K, 0 BB, 4 ER)
SV : Matt Strahm (2)
Like in the first games of the season, the Phillies' offense started hot as they took an early 1-0 lead in the first after Alec Bohm drove home Trea Turner, who tripled to start the game. The Rockies then scored two runs in the second and one more in the third inning to take a 3-1 lead. The Phillies' offense went silent until the fifth inning, when Sosa doubled to center, driving in Castellanos while Kepler advanced to third. Weston Wilson followed Sosa with a double as well, allowing Philadelphia to take a 4-3 lead. The score remained the same until the end of the game.
Game 2 : Rockies 2-5 Phillies
W : Jesús Luzardo (1-0, 6.0 IP, 6 K, 1 BB, 2 ER)
L : Kyle Freeland (0-1, 4.2 IP, 4 K, 0 BB, 4 ER)
SV : Matt Strahm (3)
Even after a day off, the Phillies' offense continued its trend of starting games hot, scoring four of their five runs in the first inning, including a three-run home run by Castellanos (his 3rd of the season). During the first inning, eight batters came to the plate. Then, like in the first game of the series, the offense went from hot to cold, while the Rockies kept their hope alive by hitting two solo home runs. Fortunately, Kyle Schwarber drove in Bohm in the seventh to add some insurance. Matt Strahm then earned his third save of the season to close out the game.
Game 3 : Rockies 6-4 Phillies
W : Germán Márquez (1-0, 5.0 IP, 2 K, 1 BB, 3 ER)
L : Zack Wheeler (1-1, 5.0 IP, 9 K, 0 BB, 4 ER)
SV : Scott Alexander (1)
Once again, the Phillies took an early lead in the first inning when Kyle Schwarber hit his 3rd home run of the season, a two-run home run. But everything fell apart in the fourth inning for Zac Wheeler, who couldn't quite settle on the mound: the Rockies went deep three times off Wheeler to take a 4-1 lead. In fact, Colorado scored all their runs via home runs, as they ended the game with five homers, while the Phillies also hit three home runs of their own. This game marked the Phillies' first loss of the season, ending a five-game winning streak.
