Re: What are you working on thread

I’m convinced this game reacts to your line-up. I’m working on several things at once. I’m working on the Diamond Hardware Larkin mission, The Diamond Breakout Johnny Bench mission, The Gold Hardware Pujols mission, and the overall first baseman stats.
I can go 6-6 with all the silver and gold players (except Pujols) in my line up with racking up HRs, DBs, Runs, and RBIs but when my Larkin,Bench, or Pujols are up (individual same game stat missions) the CPU paints the black and I go 2-6 with those guys.....ugh

Also I let the CPU tie it up so I could keep going because Larkin needed just 1 more run to finish the same gane mission but as soon as they tied it and put a fresh top notch diamond reliever in the next batter fouls off 10 pitches until I walked him and the next better drills a 2 run HR off a good pitch......game over

    EDIT:
just did it again. I’m winning 18-0 in the 7th so I put a position player on the mound and allow them to tie the game. I need 1RBI with Pujols....I bring in my stud Trevor Hoffman and he gives up a HR on the first pitch game over. Total 100% BS I out score the CPU 35+ to 0 in both games but after I force a tie to grind my missions they hit HRs to win the game off top notch pitchers I usually strike out the sides with. Please SDS stop the BS during games the grinds are long enough

Starting the event 9-1 after an 0-1 start. I've out hit every single opponent that I can remember with regards to # of base hits.

      A couple thoughts on Immortals:

Griffey is hands down the best card in the game as he has 5 tools
Pujols and Chipper are 2a/2b...they absolutely mash the baseball

Cal & Piazza are really tough to hit with. Not sure if it's their swing but I've struggled really bad. Piazza especially has been tough. I'm 5/31 with Piazza with 2 HR. I actually feel like I hit the ball decent but I can't find open areas. Hitting .281 with Cal and 6 HR in 96 AB's which isn't horrible.

Seaver on the mound is the best pitcher in the game. The control, the movement, the pitch selection...the speed changes. Really happy I went for this pitcher first. Not even sure when I get another one if I even get one.

Did you hit good with diamond Piazza? Because I rake with him and would be pretty disappointed if his immortal card sucked haha

I was never that good with Piazza to begin with. I feel like he and Cal have a bit longer swing...but I might just be crazy.

FINALLY got Diamond Nen. That was not a fun grind. Now I've got another 41 saves to go before I can claim Immortal Wagner!

Re: What are you working on thread

I think I’m about to give up chasing the immortals. The second round of arc missions are just to much and I simply don’t have the time. I’ve been playing 2-3 games a day 5-6 if I’m lucky and I’m just getting no where.

It’s the Same Game stats that are just ruining it for me. I can fill my lineup with any random players and absolutely destroy the CPU but the minute I use a mission related players I’m hitting at”em balls, the CPU is making diving catches, back against wall warning track outs, and grounding into DPs....the pitchers seem to avoid the middle of the plate more too. Getting 2XBH 1HR 3 RBI 3 Runs and 2 SB in the same game with Larkin seems impossible when that happens. Most of the same game stat missions are insane. Wether it’s the CPU messing with me or it’s just me I simply don’t see myself having the time or patience to complete them.
What annoys me most is I can’t get the time back I already spent chasing them....I’m burnt out

Re: What are you working on thread

Trying to play this event for a diamond. I really cant stress enough how not fun this game is online now. Everything is so backwards.

Why pitch to corners when thats 10x easier to hit than a pitch you leave over most of the plate?

Why use a good hitter when Joey Gallo is GOAT?

Why make good contact when most of the hits I give up are from okay contact and are less than 90MPH off the bat? Meanwhile Im hitting 97+MPH bullets everywhere for outs.

Why actually try to pitch when this game calls 99% of pitches on corners balls and no one swings at anything because of strike zone camera? I literally just quit a game I was winning because the game made me walk two straight guys on 4 pitches each, all of which were directly on the line.

This is a huge reason why it was so ****ing easy to hit. I do not get how the devs and a certain unnamed person from the thread earlier do not understand that. When you eliminate balls from the equation, and then shrink the strike zone because of the way balls/strikes work, people only have a very limited area they need to cover while using a camera view that massively enhances ones ability see the ball.

This game played so good 3 years ago. Pitching to corners and hitting spots worked. Having an actual knowledge of how to pitch and set people up worked incredibly well despite the PCI being the same size at was before they changed it this year. My ERA was miniscule and my batting average was over .350 because I was good and played a lot. I play a lot less now, I dont expect to be as good.

Maybe im just too old for this ****. Games completely cater to a generation that spends hours a day watching other people play video games on youtube. **** is mind bottling.

Yep....after my my mission frustration I thought maybe I need a break from playing the CPU and went back to Ranked Season....mistake....3 games I went 2-1 all 3 games 1-0 with like 2-3 hits each. Pitchers getting one of the hits and each game decided by a solo HR or random error/fielding bug type thing...just not fun and certainly not baseball. What happened to this game? I’m stepping away for a few days and see if my attitude towards the game changes when I go back.

Yeah, part of me wants to rip three 50 packs and spend all my stubs, but then part of me thinks I might regret that in a few days when I realize i got nothing else to play haha. And before you say it, shut up ph haha

Just wondering what is the best way to grind for saves, as I think the Nenn/Wagner path is the one I want to prioritise on the pitching side of things. You guys are all obviously great players that rack up big scores.....so how do you also qualify for saves? Do you literally just have to walk runs in to manufacture a save situation every game? That would be incredibly annoying but I guess if its the only way then I'll have to consider it.

                          Cheers

The only way to do this and keep any shred of sanity is to play conquest games. You'll get credit for a save if you put in your target pitcher when you're up by 1 run or 2 runs...or if you're up by three or four and there are runners in scoring position. You can get credit for the save by just getting the final out with the pitcher of your choice, or by putting him in at any point under the conditions I just said and finishing the game with him. If I accidentally score too much, I do walk in runs or put enough guys on to meet the save conditions, then bring in the pitcher I need to get the save.

Most of my saves are of the three inning variety while grinding. If youre unaware, if someone pitches the last 3 innings of a game theyre winning, no matter the score, that player is credited with a save.

But if youre only going for saves/holds, just play conquest
