If you have time, can you please sim a season to see if you get somewhat realistic stats? Would also like to see how many trades are made during the season.

Re: For The Red Sox
Matsuzaka has two identical deliveries...one that says 'Generic 21' and the other that ssays 'Matsuzaka'
Okajima's delivery is NOT in this PS2 version.....so I'll be going back to KOLB
honestly, the same crap that many of us complained about...assigning too many players Generic 1 for hitting, Generic 5 for pitching and the widespread deal of misidentifying somebody else's stances/deliveries....
Seriously, someone over at SCEA needs to get their *** AND act together...there really isn't an excuse for basically doing VERY LITTLE in this aspect of the game....pathetic....
I know and understand that stuff would bother most. But half the fun for me is going through the game, player by player, and deciding which stances and windups suit the player best. I probably spend more time tweaking the game that way than I do playing it.Comment

Re: @ drtbag
Carew, thanks for giving all of us ps2ers some info. Can you please auto draft a fantasy draft, and check to see if the cpu teams drafted accordingly this year and not draft too many of one position? The fantasy draft mode last year was unplayable as the cpu would draft the same position, and therefore draft Morneau and Howard,or something ridiculous lke that. Thanks again.Comment

Re: @ drtbag
Here's how I got around that. I held a fantasy draft and picked my team. Then I saved (so I could remember who was on my team) and exited back to the main menu. I then went into edit rosters mode and moved all my drafted players onto my team. After that, I spent an hour just arbitrarily moving players to different teams, making sure teams didn't end up with your Morneau and Howard scenario. Then I saved that roster and used it to start a season.Comment

Re: @ drtbag
If you think about how long it takes to play a season, spending an hour or more setting it up isn't all that much. Plus I like to create custom teams: one team with a lot of speedsters, another with a lineup stacked with power hitters, another with great pitching but lousy hitters, etc.Comment

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
Carew, since to said you've edited some players batting stances can you answer this question? In last years game, when you edited a players batting stance it would show up in the game as a generic stance, and the only way to fix it was to go to replay and it would go to the one you changed it to, is this still a problem in 08?Comment

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
anyone else finding the game a bit too eaasy? I've started off 5-0 in franchise mode with the angels. I have yet to give up more than 3 runs in a game and have given up only 2 HR's in 5 games. I'm playing on hall of fame mode but the computer has yet to challenge me. I have won all my games by 3 runs or more. Maybe i need to adjust the sliders to make the cpu hit better or something.Comment

@ duke
What you allude to happened when you sent someone up to pinch hit...and the only was 'to get out of it' so to speak, was to go to replay and then back to the action...the correct stance would be shown
But in answer to your question, that issue was solved....

Hmmm....I won't say 'easy' per se, but I'll say wierd (in contrast to The Show 2007)...I too, am playing on HOF...
I am:
hitting...in 4 games averaging about 9 hits per game
pitching...in every game, there was one bad inning and bsically shutout ball the rest of the way.
extra base hits...I'vve hit about 9 of them....2 homers and the rest doubles
I am tweaking the sliders after or prior to every game to get things as I feel they should be. There have been some balls that I tagged--and they didn't go out
Same with the CPU also...
but this is fine. As I posted on these boards about two weeks ago...you have to play...really play upwards of 50 games or more before I feel a set of slider can be truly representative of what you're trying to acheive.

Agreed. 100% agreed. I've watched every Blue Jay game since his arrival. Ok, maybe I missed a handful. regardless he's been batting crouched with his left foot pointed on the tip of his toes for years.Comment

Broken Error Engine?
I'm beginning to think so....I haven't seen any errors by the CPU at all....I am currently in the midst of game number 5 (me-Rays vs. Bosox at Fenway)
I dropped the CPU throwing accuracy to ZERO...I MAXED out the error frequency slider for the CPU....
