Hopefully we can repeat our season this year.

I don't know why, but I simply can't hit homeruns. I managed 5 throughout the season last year and in spring training got 3.

    I'm batting .426 but I can't hit homeruns.

    My attributes are:

    LCON - 71
    RCON - 71
    LPOW - 54
    RPOW - 65
    VIS - 52

What is the problem? any ideas?

I even tried 5 games on rookie, but couldn't hit one homerun. I suck.
Try veteran with the PCI on. And look for a fastball or a hanging curveball in the middle or upper zone. Keep your PCI low and when you see the pitch in the middle/upper zone raise it up and swing. Thats how I get most of my HR's. I play All-Star and I always keep my PCI low that way when a ball is in the middle of the plate I just fire it up and swing, and the result is usually a good one. I also press the R Stick UP before the pitch this helps infulence a fly ball but in my own experience when you combine that with making great contact you can drive the ball out of the park.

I do those things with the Contact Swing (X) I never use power and so far I've hit 24 HR's in my season..as of August, 3.

And my power ratings are..LHP 65 RHP 71
Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - Bulls

thanks for the advice, I do play on veteran...the rookie 10 game stint was just to see if I can hit HR on the easiest difficulty.

Anyways, what is your players LCON and RCON attributes as well as the VIS attribute?

Off the top of my head...

        LCON-76
        RCON-82
        VIS-54

Somewhere around there..my players grades are Contact-B and Power-C.

I wasnt expecting to hit this much HR's but I had an awesome start. Lately my HR's havent been coming as often but I'm still 4th in the AL in HR's, I'm batting .350 with 24 HR and 86 RBI.

This is by far my best year, just be patient at the plate. If your still in the minors your most likely going to be facing bad pitchers. There is a HUGE difference between batting agiasnt a AAA pitcher and Scott Kazmir. A lot of subpar pitchers in this game will leave pitches well across the plate and take advantage of that. They will also throw a lot of balls, so dont waste your strikes or get a crappy hit on a ball outside the zone. If your patient enough most likely your going to get a really good pitch to hit and thats when you drive it out.

Most of my HR's have come agianst hanging curve balls those are super to easy to knock out of the park. So if you see a curve ball up in the zone by all means go for it.

Are using the default rosters with the fake minor league players or are you using Knights or Ridins Full minors rosters. Because I use Knights rosters and the pitchers in the minors are dominating. The average team ERA is just below 4. So I think that may be a reason why it is harder to hit.

I use Knights and I'm not saying the minor league pitchers are like high school players but there is a big difference then batting agaisnt one of them and batting agaisnt a MLB Ace.

Yeah I am playing on rookie right now and I am still barely batting 300, however I was wondering if it would be better for me to play on veteran from a batting standpoint? Also do you guys play on Fast Play? Just wondering because with Fast play enabled I am missing out on Homerun celebration and the batter walkup music, which hardly ever plays for my created player. Is the music only supposed to play at home games for your created player?

I think playing on Veteran is actually better then playing on Rookie as a batter. Because you have more contol over your swing by using the L stick and power or contact swing. Rookie is just timed based and its hard to hit HR's on rookie.

And I play with fast play off. And obvisouly they dont play your song at AWAY games lol!!! Just home games man thats how it is with every player.

After the last game I played today, I checked the interactions page again, and I saw the request a trade interaction. I decided to do it, and it said I was traded to the Orioles! lol. I guess everyone that plays this game has to be on the Orioles at some point. My game had already auto-saved before I clicked on it, so I didn't re-save it after the trade. I'm still on the Pirates trying to decide if I should stay or go to the Orioles. Both teams are horrible right now and in last place. The Pirates are 14-40, and the Orioles are 20-36. Not a big difference. I don't know...what do you think since you're on the Orioles now?

Has anyone made a player made it to the majors and had their team pick up talent after a season?

For me it seems like after every year my manager dosen't get any talent, he just resigns younger players. So we end up sucking the next few years. But we play teams with hall of fame players like ortiz, dye, beltran. So im like what?? come on gm sign someone with all our free cap room. It relize 2 much on your player to be the best player. Which sucks because if you just get in the majors, and you have ok stats and every1 on your team sucks, your gonna lose quite a few games. (108 for me)

Orioles have a pretty good offense in my RTTS in year 2014...4th best in the AL. They have some good, young hitters. But they're still behind the Red Sox & Yankees in the AL East.

Pirates will probably never be a great team but they have a better chance at the post season (although they may never be able to win the World Series).

Some of it depends on your organization's viewpoint. They're either sellers, normal, or buyers at the trade deadline. Most crappy teams are going to be sellers and will focus on young players and sell off the old ones.

There's also the issue with the budget. I hate this but small market teams don't have big budgets and may be at their limit faster than you think. I got lucky, Seattle isn't a big market team but they have an okay budget. We signed Grady Sizemore, Prince Fielder, and some other lower priced guys and have improved a lot. My low priced contract probably helps too.

thats what i had expected. yea I'm with the orioles after a trade, so they're mostly a seller a the deadline, and every year we suck, can't wait to get out of here.

I hate playing with Baltimore. I'm im year 2015 and have been with them for 3 years and our best year was when we won 50 games!!! And our GM logic is crazy. We just traded our young Ace at the trade deadline he was an All-star with a 9-2 record with a 2.34 ERA to the Padres to a guy with a record of 3-10 with an ERA of 9.75!!!!

It is crazy and every off season they never sign anyone or make any improvements.

yea i've made like 5 players and at some point in their career they were traded to the orioles. I think theres something in the game that makes you have to go their at some point. But it probally depends on your position i usually am either a second baseman or a left fielder.
