I know that but damn after pitching a shutout I get sent back down? Thats some cold business. lol. Well it didn't last long however. I don't know whats going on in the front office but after I get sent down I was told that I would start in a few weeks. Well a couple of days before that start lo and behold I get sent back up. I've gone about a month and haven't seen any action. They're playing tricks with my head I tell you. My contract is up and they're probably trying to mess with me. lol. I'm going to check where I stand ratings-wise and see if I want to try my hand at free agency. The option has come up for me to tell the squad whether or not I want to resign with them. I'm wondering how long should I wait to tell them.

How many years of ML service do you have? You need 6 to be eligible for free agency, remember.I know that but damn after pitching a shutout I get sent back down? Thats some cold business. lol. Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I've never seen these problems. Unless you were just sent up due to injury then just do your goals and you should be fine. Besides, going back to AAA you should be able to blow everyone out and season your guy to be a stud, since a shutout in AAA = shutout in MLB.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Following the Career of Colorado Rockies Starting CF, Will Ferrell. Just an update to my RTTS version of myself:
July 12, 2015, 2 days before the All-Star break
-At the young age of 24 years old, I'm leading the league in a variety of batting categories, and leading for numerous awards.
Last year, in my 3rd full season in the big leagues, I won the Hank Aaron Award as well as the Silver Slugger, hitting for an average of .400 in 592 AB's, 31 HR's, 105 RBI's with 237 hits. I was trying to break Ichiro's record of 262, but a slump at the first of the season prohibited me from getting close.
-This year up until 7/12/2015, I am going into the All-Star break hitting .448 in 339 AB's, with 152 hits, 35 HR's, 92 RBI's, leading in all the aforementioned categories.
Last year was my first All-Star game, getting the most votes and starting at CF. This year, I have well over 1 million votes, gaining the starting job in a landslide again. Let's hope that I can break out and have a great game, possibly earning the Player of the Game for the AS game and getting the home field for the World Series, if we can make it.
We won the World Series in 2013, as I was the MVP of the regular season and post season, but could not get rally enough to make the playoffs this past season.
I'll post some pics of me hitting my walk off grand slam which occurred earlier in the year.
What are the scouts saying about me now?
-Better known by his initials: MVP.
-Among the Top Hitters in the Majors
-He's got Legendary Power, he Will break records
-Won't make enough plays, but has his moments with the leather
-Fast enough to disrupt the game when he reaches base.
-As close to being a sure thing as you can get.
My Power stats are maxed out, and mid 90's for contact. Clutch is at 80. Bunting in the low 30's (who needs it when you have such a smooth stroke?). Fielding is getting there, but it takes time. By the end of my career, I want to have my jersey retired amongst the greats at Cooperstown.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I've recently been playing this mode as a catcher...and I get put in as a 1st Baseman occasionally. I've played before as a pitcher and it was alright and wanted to try my hand with more batting opportunities..too bad this game sucks so bad. Since I've taken the field my guy decides to leave his brain at home as well as any fielding ability at all. The game is full of glitches and makes playing the field intolerable. First of all, as a catcher I can't catch 40% of the pop ups because I immediately get stuck on the orange cicrle on my base and the play falls apart. When I do make it out from behind the plate half the time I turn around and miss the ball completely and as far as first base...my god when does running to the base and deciding to stop and plant 4 feet from the bag make sense? This games blows hard and needs some major help to be remotely playable. Guess its back to franchise because this is the most useless game mode I've ever endured.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Why if we make a pitcher do we still have to upgrade our batting abilities? this kills me because we have to upgrade some abilities and then the other have to be upgraded and you need to play to get points how about practicing and then u get points to upgrade or like the batting practice that u get ur abilities up like thatYankees!!

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I just made the show with the Atlanta Braves, Starting 3rd baseman out of the 2010 spring training. Got a hit in my first at bat off of Ricky Nolasco of the Florida Marlins.
Edit: Through 6 games all at Turner Field.
.429 batting average(9 for 21)
4 runs scored
1 double
3 homeruns
6 rbi
1 bb
.905 SLG%
.455 OBP
1.359 OPS
I couldn't have hoped for a better start and the team's started out 5-1.Last edited by S2S; 06-22-2009, 11:48 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I'm going to assume because our hitting stats are so poor that they have to give us at least some time in the cage. Especially since NL pitchers do have to hit.Why if we make a pitcher do we still have to upgrade our batting abilities? this kills me because we have to upgrade some abilities and then the other have to be upgraded and you need to play to get points how about practicing and then u get points to upgrade or like the batting practice that u get ur abilities up like thatComment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Update: Through my 1st full month in the majors I've hit 8 homeruns with 2 of them being grandslams.
In the whole year at Triple A I only hit 11 in total, I've been floored at how good I've hit them out up in the show. Two games ago I hit 2 homeruns in my first two at bats and the 1st one hit the tracks at Minute Maid.
I'll try to get the video up.

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Man, I am having crazy difficulty with hitting. I am playing on AS mode and I cant seem to hit for any power and I always ground out to second and I am like the DP king. I have my average up to nearly .400 once, but since have slumped severely since being called up to AAA. Any hitting suggestions? Im a 1B in the Pirates organization.
PS whatup TO long time.Comment

Hey whats up man. Long time indeed. Well I don't think you want any hitting advice from me since I'm like .093 being a pitcher and all. lolMan, I am having crazy difficulty with hitting. Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
First game series vs. the Padres at Turner Field. My starting 3rd baseman had gotten a couple of singles and stolen base, Hadn't done too much with a sparkle. It comes up to the bottom of the 11th and we're done 3 to 1. My guy steps up the plate with 2 outs and 2 runners on 1st and 2nd. Heath Bell has come in to close it out, First pitch he throws is a ball inside. Second pitch he throws is a high fastball inside and I send it into the left field bleachers for the walkoff.
Heath Bell just hung his head in shame.
