maybe the trick is to play one game ON and next game OFF that way we get a mix

That's what I did for 6 games straight (3 games, with rematches, exact same settings, pitchers, teams), I only toggled the ON and OFF

With it ON, I found it to be easier to get a lead, and the CPU felt a little more tamed, BUT they did in fact come back every time I had the lead late in the game.

With it OFF, the CPU felt tougher through the whole game, but didn't necessarily feel like a comeback AI. It was more of a Confidence issue that the User's pitchers get rattled way too easy and the CPU transforms into a killing machine with no remorse and makes you pay for everything. Yea, the #8 and #9 hitters felt like Barry Bonds once the CPU gets in this mode, but it didn't necessarily feel like a Comeback glitch, because this happens whether I'm winning, losing, or tied. It's either random, or gets triggered a certain way...but I think it's tied into the confidence level.

Either way, along with the other random games I played around with it on ON, those seem to be my conclusion.

I'm just going to leave it OFF (I'm not sold it's reversed or anything, and take Russell's word for it). Plus I did see the CPU come back on me each time when it was ON, so I think it works as designed.

Played first game with it ON, and same ****, different day. I go up 3-0. Very next inning:

        rocket shot double
        rocket shot double
Walk, despite having pitcher control and consistency almost maxed, and mostly perfect meter hits
rocket single off the Green Monster
        rocket single up the middle
I turn the game off in disgust.

Any more **** like this, and GameStop's going to have a new used game for sale.

I'm playing on All Star. I have no problems with the game difficulty wise, until I go ahead by 3 or more runs. Then suddenly I'm a crappy MLB 09 player? Yeah, ok.

Like a few others have mentioned, on All Star, comeback "on" appears to have the intended effect. Just about every game with in on was a one run game where the CPU would comeback from several deficits.

My last few games with it "off" I have won 8-4, lost 7-3 and killed 11-2. So no comeback stuff here on All-Star.

Glad you guys are having good luck with it on the higher levels.

I don't buy SCEA saying there isn't a problem. There clearly is a problem when so many people are experiencing these issues. People shouldn't have to fiddle with the comeback settings or delete/reinstall the game and all of that just to make it playable.

Just beat the Rangers 9-3 with it OFF, was 9-0 up going into the 7th, Andruw Jones of all people then hit 2 homers off of Edwin Jackson (poor pitch selection, my fault). I then brought in Rodney who fanned 3 and Zumaya who fired up to 100mph, he struck out 2, "comeback" well and truly extinguished.

Went up 6-3 against Boston on a Joe Crede grand slam. Next inning, 2 rocket singles....so I change the difficulty to Rookie, and get out of the inning.

If the game wants to cheat, I can cheat it right back.

LOL, is this with comeback on? Then sounds like it did what it was suppose to do
