The overlays are a nice touch this year giving great in game information. The info bar that drops down from the HUD is steadily giving information about players, temperature, umpiring crew, official scoring decisions, who is on deck, etc. Ton of information.

Can you confirm there's still no score ticker in franchise, despite of the scoreboards updating live?

Two quick questions:

1) When you hit a long fly ball (that has HR potential) can you tell if it's going to be a home run or a foul ball as soon as you hit the ball or is there some suspense?

2) Has there been any changes to manager/player ejections this year?

Yea I know Phantom, but it just pisses me off to no end that these companies can't let a damn game market their products for a realistic feel in this game. It's just greed, I have said that over and over, but it really is just ridiculous.

Are you serious? That's not how in-game advertising works.

Unless SCEA is different than all other publishers, they and their in-game ad partner would charge a fair amount of money to any company to display their brand/logo in-game. And that company, rightfully so, would ONLY spend that money if they could reach their target audience. Which may or may not be video game players.

I agree that the added authenticity would be great. But it's not because of greed and it's not ridiculous that companies don't spend money on in-game advertising.

1) The broadcast cam does a pretty good job of including some suspense on what the outcome will be. The home runs are a thing of beauty in broadcast cam and they follow the ball all the way to the fans.

2) I saw no difference with this to be honest.

To any of the attendees:
I realize this is subjective but what was the biggest WOW factor for you that was new this year that may have stood out?

As a gameplay-centered guy, for me it's a very close toss-up between the throwing meter and the line drives rocketing off wall angles. Both of those change the gameplay in very dramatic ways.

I went in expecting the RTP to be that "WOW" factor, and in the absence of the two changes above, it would have been easily. I can't say enough about the usefulness of the early focus test and the other guys being able to suggest the changes they did so early in the dev cycle (read Pared's post in the impressions thread for details on that if you haven't already).

Better get your fielding skills up to snuff guys - you're going to need 'em this year.

Well, there's a lot, but crapping my pants when I saw the catcher throw off his mask on a bunt would be one.

And that little animation that the pitcher does to have the catcher go through th signs again, but there's a ton of stuff like this.

How do the retro uniforms look? Like last year or more variety like in MVP? (ie. Phils in powder blue, Pirates in all gold/black, Indians in all red)

Did anyone notice a reduction in power to opposite field? I think the past couple years there has been a little too much power to opposite field with guys that really don't have it. Might be something we need to play a large variety of games to notice but just curious. Wow does everything else sound awesome thanks for filling us in to all of you.
