I meant to answer this yesterday...sorry.
No to hiring/firing DURING season this year(I'm going to push for this next year)....and we did find(thanks b_hurst!) a missing screen in the HIRE COACH/MANAGER screen.....that showed where to fire your current manager(you would always get that message that you must fire your current manager/coach before you can hire so and so)...
All you have to do is hit the square button and it brings you to your manager/coaches/farm director and you fire him from there. You can indeed fire your farm director now!

Ah...kind of a bummer, but it's hard to harp on it too much with so much other stuff added. A minor inconvenience for me, and at least with the full 30 team control (my favorite non-gameplay addition, I think!) I can now ensure Francona isn't coaching the Yankees or something...lol.

Like, can you play home run derby with someone online?

Or, is there voice chat during a game?

Is the lag problem fixed?

In 09, i could no check swing, because the lag was sooooo bad, is that fixed.

is the early base stealing cheat fixed.

What did you do about people pulling, and quiting?

The best thing to do, is when someone pulls or quits, let the game continue, so you can finish the game against a cpu. Like NCAA Football 10 does, i love that feature, and that would take care of all the pulling and quiting.

Another problem in 09 was, when a pitch was thrown in the dirt, the baserunner on 1st would increase his lead, that would make it where the catcher could pick up the ball quickly and throw him out, i hated it that, and theres nothing you can do for that baserunner because you are not really controlling him at the time.

Agreed. This was a problem with online because you'd get people playing with good catchers (St. Louis) and would intentionally throw balls in the dirt looking to pick you off at first. Hell, I even got thrown off of second base a few days ago with Dexter Fowler (ie: he's no slouch on the base paths).

I played two games online and both pulled/quit. I'm sure it was becuase of the lag considering both times the score was tied in the 2nd 1-1. But I didn't play another online game at all. If the game continued against the cpu that would have been great.

There were two instances yesterday where the cpu played a ball in the corner poorly and they had to go chase it. Remember the ball is moving more quickly to the corner this year and is really rattling around. Last year the ball was slow moving in the outfield. Just a heads up.

I'm not sure what to think then. Pared said they still play balls off the wall perfectly all the time. Have to wait and see I guess, no biggie.

Balls off the walls in the alleys and such and balls to the corners are two entirely different scenarios. I think the cpu plays them differently compared to 09 in the corners, but over-the-head wall shots are played about the same. That's what I get out of it.

All the changes and additions to online are in the fact sheet or they where covered in the early previews. The guys can't play online at the studio. Check swings are fixed the early steal cheat isn't actually a cheat but we did turn that down. Its an exploit not a cheat. No home run derby online this year. People will always pull and quit nothing we can do about that. But now we track everything every game u finish every game u don't finish every pull all of it.

Make sure you have Home Run Derby Online in 11, thats going to sting a little not being able to do that online, but i should be able to get through it.

I believe he said that they played great angles. But with the new ball physics they still have some troubles of the walls and corners. I could be wrong.
