Ah, memories. I still have a binder from a custom league I set up playing R.B.I. Baseball in the late 80s. I kept track of wins and loses, pitcher stats, HRs and RBI. The thought of going back in time and giving a copy of The Show to that 12-year-old version of me blows my mind.

Playing today with the Aeros and Carlos Santana hits a liner up the middle which the ball bounces what looks like off of the pitchers leg back to the catcher and throws me out by a mile. After reviewing the replay the ball morphs through the pitchers leg and off of the rubber and catapults back to the catcher.

This happened to me twice both in RBI situations! A million games played and I have never seen this happen until today, twice!

      Anyone, anyone?

I know the second one is fixed and I think the first one was addressed as well. Definitely know on the second one.

I wanted to see the deceptive move tied to the pitching meter where the perfect release point would yield the best result and anything above it or below it would be an off throw. Maybe that is something that could get worked in next year.
Don't forget...also...the easy move...less chance to throw it away.....almost no chance to get him.....the deceptive...more chance to throw it away and a better chance to nail him.

            Are errors and ER fixed?

I noticed last year in RTTS that the computer would often mess up on errors (like not counting some errors are errors), or if it would, it would still count as an earned run against my pitcher.

Example: 2 outs in the inning. Ground ball to 3rd, he makes an error on the play. Error is still counted, but if the run then scores on a HR, that runner counts as an earned run against my pitcher. This was not always the case, but it was enough times for me to notice and get really irritating.

There were also plays in the OF where the OF would run down a ball, it would go off his mitt, and it would not be ruled an error.

Did anyone else notice this error logic problem? I hope it is fixed for '10.

Isn't there a 3rd move which is a normal pick off move? And if so, my next question is can you ever pick somene off not using the deceptive move? I know not the easy move, but the normal one?

There is a casual, quick, deceptive (for lefties), and for righty's that fake to third throw to first move.

Your best chances for a pickoff are the quick and deceptive.

Actually its the quick move that you seem to throw away more not deceptive.

It takes away from the fun in my franchise cause I often am "aware" of the walks issue instead of getting into the drama of the game.
I have a follow up to this question. Will erratic pitchers act like erratic pitchers (AJ Burnett, Doug Davis, Clayton Kershaw) where it's tougher to pin point with the meter? Compared to pitchers with better control (Chris Carpenter, Roy Halladay, Zack Grienke)?

I have always thought that thrwoing strikes was too easy. More often than not, when missing the line on the meter it resulted in a more hittable pitch not nessasarily a ball off the plate. I would like to see the above mentioned "erratic" pitchers miss off of the plate more and not so much catching more of the plate for strikes.

                      For the CD guys,
Am I reading right that if your playing in RTP mode that you will still see some of the cool cutscenes?

Where did you see that this was actually confirmed ??

Don't get me wrong I'm all for a blend of both.... I just wish someone would confirm what game situations will & won't utilize RTP so we don't have to keep speculating on how it will work

I'll try again.....Can someone that attended CD please confirm if RTP will still use cut scenes during certain game situations ????

You probably have not heard anything because we probably do not remember. I know I don't!

There is so many situations in this game, and so many cut-scenes, plus new ones added. I would think it is too much to list and remember in a few day span.

This is just something we are going to have to be patient on, and experience for ourselves.

IMO, a combination of BOTH is the best thing. Since there are without a doubt, some things a cut scene will always do better, than real time, due to memory limitations. The best of both worlds is optimal IMO.

With all the new presentation that I saw, it was a bit overwhelming to dwell on any one thing. I don't think anyone will be disappointed, but....there's always somebody.

I totally agree with you.. I'm just shocked that nobody was paying attention to how player substitutions work with RTP .........I blame the broadcast camera

At least the demo should answer our questions
