Cant believe I forgot about thes questions until now lol! This for RTTS.

Is there or can there be an option for the camera to follow the ball instead of the player?

Does the camera work better to where you can see your 3rd base coach while you are on your way to 2nd base?

Are you able to edit players other than yourself? Id like to be able to change names looks equipment etc to all those stud rookies that are bald, have tight pants no batting gloves and a generic 1 stance lol.

The camera angle has been adjusted so that the ball is in view behind you. Because of this sometimes you can't see your basecoach (like if the ball is in rightfield). I had quite a few indepth discussions with the devs on this trying to talk out the best way to handle this. The "ball behind you view" makes it easier to see where the ball is going, but at the same time it takes you out of the being the player with a good look at the basecoach. I think you'll be happy with the new view because you'll see the ball pretty good, and hopefully in the future SCEA will also come up with a way that lets us adjust the view while we're running so we can check for the basecoach or something like that. But also, you guys might all really like the new camera angle and think it is just fine.

As for editing other players in RTTS, I'm not sure. You should have told me earlier and I would have checked!

Not sure if this has been in there, but please fix this:
When trying to throw someone out (usually at 2nd base) the 2nd baseman just stands there with his glove angled and does nothing and avoids tagging the runner out.

Hey fellas, great work. You make the best sports game every year with The Show.

I'm a huge RTTS player and have read about some of the great additions that were added to that game mode this year. I'm not exactly sure how to phrase this, but, was curious to know if there have been any more emphasis put on contracts, manager interactions, etc.

For instance, I recall last year, when my RTTS player was maxed out in attributes (I sim a lot, so get through a ton of seasons) and ended a contract, no teams would offer him a contract, even though he was like 27-28 years old (the prime of his career). So, I guess my question is, has these types of minor issues been addressed?

I never got much into the contracts, from talking to the devs yesterday they seem to be the same as last year. I mentioned that I thought expanding the contracts to mean more (like incentives and no trade clauses, etc) would be nice to have, they seemed to think that was something hopefully we'd see in the future.

As for interacting with the manager, I had a dev right next to me when I bugged my manager to start me and he told me that I shouldn't get benched for asking that of my manager anymore. The manager would send me emails from time to time about things I'm doing wrong in a game (like stealing too much), you better listen to him then or he'll sit you for a game. He won't totally bench you and take your spot away like they would in previous years. Failing goals won't really hurt you either, it is just used as part of the decision to advance you, just not to demote you.

I have a question for RTTS, since advancement goals are returning, what were some of the ones that showed up for position players? Are there difficult goals such as accumulating 29 bases in 4 series, or sustaining a .360 OBP over the course of 6 series?

Supposedly the advancement goals are tied more to what you need more training on like contact, fielding, etc. I didnt get enough time to get my players too experienced, but none of the goals seemed that difficult, and they are not the soul means of advancement if you do fail them. Usually you get two goals related to leveling up and then at least two related to statistics like an average or not striking out, etc. Hopefully there won't be any too difficult ones until we are leveled up enough, I didn't see any.

Thanks Enigma and Knight. The stances have never bothered me (we'll, except Klesko's, but that was years ago). However, I am looking forward to what they changed and added.

Here's a big thanks to you community day guys. Thanks for the answering the questions here and even catching things there we may never know about. At the same time, I just want to give a shout out to the SCEA folks not only for coming out on here and answering a few things for the community, but for having another community day event this year.

For those who love to have as many free agents as possible on their new respective teams, wearing the proper uniform and cap, I wish to inform you there are still 98 MAJOR LEAGUE free agents still unsigned as of January 14. Assuming that the deadline for SCEA to include the signees is around January 28 (like The Show 10), there's another 2 weeks or so left. That number does not include MINOR LEAGUE free agents who, for the most part, are not included in the game anyway.

I'm interested in this too. I hope Karros doesn't sound robotic. Would be solid if all the booth guys could sound like they're all talking TO eachother and not AFTER eachother. If that makes sense lol

Karros wasn't fully in place when I heard him. STILL... the commentary overall isn't up to the quality I would like.

I know I spent about a half hour boring their audio guy on "easy" ways to make the current audio sound much better... including the blending of key phrases and the cuts of immediate "OH" screams on a bomb, line drive snag, etc. but he expressed to me that it most likely wouldn't make it in.

I'm hoping '12 will give that flexibility however. It's on my "to do" list. Let's just hope it can coincide with theirs...

Not to beat a dead horse here, but ball four is live whether it is caught clean or in the dirt. The batter-runner animation shouldn't be based on this.

It really has nothing to do with the announcing team. It's all about the delivery, audio splicing and timing.

NFL 2k proved major names don't have to be a part of your game.

They don't need to scrap their audio at all. Just need to have it delivered in a different fashion.

Their current announcing team does a great job of not sounding dead and dis-interested. That's one of the key points in video game announcing, something other games have battled with.

A new announcer means less audio lines as well next year. Right now, MLB's announcing has a ridiculous size to it. To simply scrap all that would not be the right move and hurt the game.

Even if they did they would not make it public knowledge. The addition of Karros helps as he gets into some interactive dialogue. Soup is definitely getting long in the tooth imo especially with the introduction of Karros. SCEA has a vision for their commentary and it sounds like it will be a gradual change over.

The commentary aspect of the game is the weakest link in the chain. Ideally, I would love to have Jon Miller and Dick Enberg. Certainly not Joe Morgan! One commentator and one color guy would be enough. And that would spare SCEA a salary! Campbell's voice is terrible and his lines are always the same.
