that's great and all, but it really has nothing to do with this game, so why even bother bringing it up?

      A simply fabulous game.

Playing on HOF (no sliders adjustments) my first game took my Tigers to Atlanta for a ST exhibition, lost 7-5 but it all felt "right", walks for both teams, homer each, strikeouts, good at bats, all in the thunder and rain of Atlanta!

      Gentlemen, this game is Baseball.

Last year I felt that All-Star was the most sim level of skill level. This year, there are too many bombs on All-Star (no sliders adjustments). Do you think Hall of Fame is the new All-Star?

From what im reading Rick it looks that way, but bare in mind they have made HOF harder this year than last year and you can definately tell, but in a good way, it all feels natural, win or lose.

HOF for me last year and HOF for me this year. The only issue I have always had with the SHow is that HOF is great for realistic scoring games

But I always end up with 2-3 runs on 14-15 hits every game. It seems you can get hits like crazy but never push runs across

I might lower the solid hits for human a tad

Good take. I'll try my hand at Hall of Fame mode

Yeah, this has me concerned. I've never had to worry about tinkering with the Show's sliders. It was always sim out of the box on All Star, always. Great variability in scores and hits from game to game. Just like real life. It has lost that feel it seems like. I'm just trying to figure out what is different and what the fix is so I can find that sweet spot from last year where everything was perfect.

Are you saying it's too often or too few planes flying (I can't believe this is even coming in a baseball game discussion!)? The reason I ask is that I'm a pilot out here in San Diego and PETCO is right underneath the flight path into Lindbergh Field. Planes are landing every couple of minutes 18 hours a day.

After playing more last night, one thing I noticed, Pitch counts were great. Also I was playing on Allstar and if you miss your spots you will pay, I gave 4 solo Home Runs to the Yankees, still trying to get a feel for the analog pitching.

Does anyone thinking they will be using the meter again?

FF, I noticed that about pitch counts also. I played the against the Dodgers with the Orioles using #5 starter Jake Arrieta. In about 6.1 innings I had 8 K's but gave up 8 runs (5 earned) I beleive double digit hits and was at 92 pitches when I took him out. You are also spot on about missing spots. Only thing though is in 18 innings batting and 17 pitching I have a combined total of 1 walk. Part of that is my fault for chasing pitches, but I haven't walked anyone. I play with the strikezone off too. I'm sure it's because I keep leaving so many pitches in the zone. Washington in my first game had 15 hits and in my second the dodgers has 18 so...

I may mess with buttons, but I think that for all my talk I am an analog convert now! lol.

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread

Had a great first game and then a bunch of RTTS (all on everything w/AllStar difficulty), a few impressions:

First game was mostly a pitchers duel (on both sides) until things got wild in the late innings. Saw very little that I didn't enjoy about the gameplay, and sliders are the farthest thing from my mind right now. The two biggest things that stood out to me in this game was the PoTG sequence and the crowd, which really made it feel like I was at the ballpark. They were up and making noise for just about every 2 strike pitch, and pretty much every crucial moment (and there were many in this game).

So, I thought I was doing alright when I got through an errorless Cards/Cubs game on All-Star fielding. Then I headed to RttS....yikes. Suffice it to say that you cannot neglect your throwing accuracy this year as a position player. My 31 accuracy 2B has made 5 errors in 6 games. You have been warned.

Aside from that, loving the analog controls. Pitching especially - it just feels like you have much greater control over where the ball is going this year, even on pitches where you miss the accuracy point. The pitch misses your target to the side that you missed on, so it just feels a whole lot better. I still need a lot of work on batting, but I did start clicking in my last few RttS games, nearly hitting for the cycle in one of them (missing the HR, not surprising since with his power he's not gonna hit many).

That's about it for now....I'd encourage people to play at least a few games before making slider tweaks - it's said every year, but there is and always has been a LOT of variance in this game, as there is in real baseball.

Note: The "Pitcher Warm" appearing on the highlight reel and postgame box may actually be part of a serious bug, but I'm not going to throw it in the bugs thread until I have a clearer picture of what happened, and whether I can recreate it. Basically - the graphic got stuck on the screen after a pitching change, and remained there for the entire game (which of course obscures the out and at-bat counts - that's why I said it's potentially serious).

Lots of 66-69 mph curves that baffled me. He struck out 9 in 6 innings throwing over 100 pitches. I struggled with Matusz and analog pitching left some ball in the heart of the plate and paid for them. I banged out 10 hits 5 doubles and a HR. I had a GR double that cost me a run and Nijer Morgan robbed me of a HR to center that would've given me the lead in the 8th.

Honestly that was probably one of my top 5 MLB gaming experiences. Everything felt "right". Got good hit variety. Can a Philly fan confirm that Worth is a free swinger. I swear in 4 ABs he saw a total of 4 pitches.

Analog controls have grown on me. Strangely that is because of the 2K11 demo. I mentioned that I love contact swing. My first 2 trophies in this game were about battling the pitcher. One for battling back from an 0-2 count and the other for seeing 10 pitches in an at bat. I know its early but Im so impressed by this game.

I had a similar experience vs. the Brewers and vs. the Nationals on All Star. I have to ask what was your experience hitting?
