Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

I would consider bunting with a guy on third in a non-suicide situation, and getting an RBI single a poor decision and luck. All you have to do is basically hit the ball on the ground past the pitcher and it's a run. The bunt brings in more of a risk in that situation.

Lining out on the second pitch if you swung at a fastball down the middle and hit it hard right at someone is generally a good decision and unlucky.

    Just my opinion.

There's really very little motivation to bunting for a hit in RTTS. Best case scenario, you get a OK result with a bunt hit. I used to think you might do it to extend a hit streak, but you might as well swing away and go for a lot of points. Only do it if it is a manager goal.

It's all star break in my first season in AA and I'm almost the Jays best pitcher lol. But I'm not getting promoted! Though it's fun being on a AA team who has over 60 wins and not even 20 losses(don't know how this is possible considering in the game ,the jays suck, they're the WORST team in my RTTS in terms of MLB record)

Anyone else find it strange how the more you boost one stat during training, the worse you do in that category during games. EX- I've been increasing h/9 for my SP and now suddenly, batters are hitting more and more against him, shouldn't they be hitting less off him since I'm increasing that stat?

Well I disagree personally, since in this game the bunt works very well for me I don't really consider it luck. Maybe the single part is luck sure but I would consider taking the lead or getting a run a good thing but I guess I am wrong.

Finally got the call up by the White Sox on 9/11/2012. Hit like .318 16 HRs 76 RBIs in AAA this year

I'm not to sure about the in-game rating system anymore. I don't think it weighs results properly. For example, I'm in a playoff series on the AAA level. I hit a ground ball up the middle to give our team an early 1-0 lead...I get an okay result and 3 training points. I think that those are moments that should weigh a little heavier.

End of my 2nd season playing for the NO. Zephyrs and we made a big push to make the AAA playoffs. Opening up vs Iowa Cubs.
Sure is nice being on a winning team, but looks like I might get the call to the last place Marlins.

What's more important to level up for a closer that has a 1000 points to burn? Pitching clutch, K/9, or individual pitches?

I agree with you on that one, it weighs into the pitch count way too much, if I can hammer a fast ball on the first pitch every single at bat, that is a GREAT result as far as I am concerned.

It also takes solid contact into consideration a lot as opposed to significance of the play. I notice balls hit solidly usually give me a good result over ok even if it's a first pitch hit.

i'm a little frustrated with RTTS atm..

i am in season 2 now. played in AA/AAA and then called up to the Nationals in mid July in my first season. In 25 AB's with the big league ball club i hit .292 with 4 HR and 8 RBIs.

Signed a 4 year deal with them in the offseason as a AAA starter, but got stuck on the bench with the Nats for 3 months, only getting 3 ABs.

My manager then proceeds to tell me he's not happy because I failed my goals a few times in a row, due to me getting NOOO PLAYING TIME..

So they send me back to AAA where I am starting now in mid July season 2..I'm fine with being in AAA, because i can continue to improve even more, just frustrated with the whole process.. my player is 19 now btw

anyone else frustrated with this?? Suggestions??

So now I know the in game evaluator is horrible. Bottom of the 11th in a 3-3 Ball game. I am up, count is 1-2 and I get a fastball low and outside that I drive deep. To the wall and they miss the catch, as I round second I see the 3rd base coach waving me on to round third and I end up beating the throw home by a mile for an inside the park home run.

Guess that isn't enough for a GREAT AB as I only got a good. Sure the Inside the park is lucky but you would think luck or not a game winning hit would be a Great at bat.

I'd put the points equally between all 4 /9 ratings and velocity for all your pitches.
