    Re: stealing bases in RTTS

A tip I only steal when the pitcher has a really slow wind up which gives more time to run.

I wish I was in front of the game to tell you exactly where it is, but I'm not. I know the name of the option doesn't sound right, but if you read the text that describes it you should be able to find it. I think it is under the RTTS specific options, not the Gameplay Options. The options where you set RTTS specifics like fielding opportunities, teammate at-bat lengths, etc.

Aggressiveness plays a role in getting better jumps I believe. If you are using the Classic baserunning controls where you can't lean, then you are at a disadvantage. Also you need to slide so that you go to the right of 2nd base to avoid the tag. My speedy CF is a 70 speed and I get caught a lot too though, stealing is pretty tough. I was able to steal at will almost in AA and for the most part AAA, but in the MLB it has been really tough.

I'm in September 2013 just finishing up my rookie season with the Cincinnati Reds. I was no threat to win Rookie of the Year, as I'm hitting around .250, 7 HRs, and 40 RBI. The 90 strikeouts are a concern, but I hope to cut down on that in the future. I'm still a bench player, but I've been getting a lot of starts this year. I went through this year pretty quickly by playing the game, then fast-forwarding to the end when I played the game. one interesting thing is I saw a fair amount of HP when I did things that way. I'm up to a C overall now, with most of my attributes Ds, but high Ds.

All the name players are now gone from the Cincinnati Reds pitching rotation-Cueto, Bailey, Mike Leake, Arroyo, and now Volquez. The entire rotation is now created players. The only MLB players left on the roster are Phillips, Bruce, and Votto. If anyone had any doubts about whether the 2013 bug affected RTTS, the answer is a resounding Yes!I might just wait for a patch to fix this issue rather than continue.

I'm towards the end of June in AA, hitting .278 with 6 HRs and 39 RBI. I'm 8th in the league in RBIs, despite not being a starter for the first few weeks. I could be doing better I think, but not a bad start in my first year.

I have actually only had that as an advancement goal 1 time so far.
Yeah I'm in the latter part of my first year, in AA, and I haven't drawn 1 walk either. A lot of the time the first or second pitch is really hittable, so I like to jump on it when I get the chance.

Plus, it seems like when they have to throw a strike, they do, or it's incredibly borderline. I'd like to draw some walks, but I don't want to lose out on extra base or RBI opportunities by getting caught staring at something on the corner.

Yep, same here, I am not going to lay off pitches just to get walked, I would rather smoke a double or single any day.

I am only in AAA, but I have yet to get injured.

I wonder if it has something to do with the position you play?

I am at 1B, the likelihood of me being injured on defense is pretty slim since I do not run around as much as the other infielders or outfielders.

Did anyone else get sadlled with hit a home run goal? I got it and my guy is more of a contact hitter, so i turn up the sliders just for this goal and at least 10 times, the fielder catches it right at the top of the wall.

That might be the problem, I never simulate games.

                        A new bug perhaps?

The computer doesn't understand the fundamentals of the game to walk you, i n the first 2 months of the AA season i had almost 30 homers and close to 100 RBIs. This is all on All Star, i had one game where i had 3 homers in the game and came in with 2 on and one out bottom of the 9th and they pitched to me..... I think i have walked maybe 7 times total and ive played about 8 seasons so far with various players.

Wait, what??? You've got to be kidding me this was a problem last year? Did I really just waste about 15 hours of my life on a game that couldn't fix a problem that was in the game last year? I'm very upset.
I'd like to talk to you about a serious problem. Packs of wild dogs that have taken over most of the major cities.

This game has been KILLING me of late. I know my timing isn't that bad. Whenever I concentrate on the pitches coming off the pitcher's hand I don't swing at the awful out of zone junk pitches like I'm apt to do.

But now that I'm getting the timing down better...I'm getting tons of "Just Missed" contacts. I can't control where in the zone the bat swings through with the buttons. It almost feels like the game is just toying with me. Yet, the moment I get an Early swing with OK contact, I get the no doubter HR animation trots.

Can't win for losing with RTTS.

During a game go to the User Settings menu, then the RTTS Gameplay menu, then scroll down to RTTS Fielding Controls. Change that to Classic.
