i got traded twice in one day! i got drafted the the white sox and worked my way to the majors in 2 years. im not pitching too well becuz ive been simming. i want out of chicago so bad at this point. so during the offseason sim, which takes years, the message board popped up saying i got traded to colorado, i hit ok and it popped up again saying i got sent to florida. im the top overall player on my team and the 2nd best pitcher in the majors. since the trade, ive went 8-0 with a 0.96 era. the change of scenery helped. im just starting my arbitration years and a 21 year old ace. pretty damn good. MY advice, do not sim ur pitching appearances. era inflates and more losses the wins

My manager is a little screwed up right now. One of our OF just got injured and instead of me starting in his place like I've been doing all season, he has the backup ***cher and backup 2B out there. Neither of them have OF as their secondary position either. Lol

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
So the Reds are 30 games under .500 in my RTTS CF career and they had a real fire sale-Chapman, Cueto, Rolen and a number of others were all traded to other teams for A potential prospects. Some were around 18 and 19, others 25 or older. It'll be interesting to see if they pan out. I've just been promoted to AAA, but I'm on the bench for now.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I created a 3b and chose to got to my team... the chicago cubs. My first year, I hit pretty good... around .300, 23 HR, 79 RBIs. It did not take me long to become AA starter. About a month left in my first season I was traded to Colorado's AA affiliate... where I continued to tear it up.
Year 2, began with Colorado's AA team. In May I was traded to Texas's AA affiliate. I continued to pound AA pitching. I was soon called up to AAA as a bench player. The pinch hits and spot starts were killing me. My stats were not great by any means. I grinded through and finally made my way to AAA starter. A few months later... traded back to my beloved Cubbies!
I was hitting .321 w/ 21 HR and 67 RBIs for the season... when the big club [urchased my contract and I was a september call up. I got like 11 pinch hit oppurtunities before the mlb playoffs came and I was sent back down. Had 2 HR in my short stint in the show.
Year 3, began the season as AAA starter and was completely dominating. Mid-way through the season I got the call up as a bench player. Got several pinch hit oppurtunities and the occasional spot start. Eneded the season with the big club hitting right around .290, 6 HRs and 27 RBIs. Needless to say... No Rookie of The Year for me.
Year 4, made a big mistake IMO. Signed a 4 yr 2.7 million dollar Cubs AAA contract. I just wanted to be with my favorite team for as long as possible regardless of the money. Was invited to spring training and made the big club as a bench player. Within one advancement period I was Starting 3b for the cubs and haven't looked back! I was starting 3b in the all-star game (league leading vote getter) and homerun derby champion. Now it is only the first week of august and I am batting .358, 53 HRs and 146 RBIs... Leading all three caregories! AND currently on a 60 game hitting streak!! 2000 training pts for breaking the hit streak record... maxed out my power attributes with those points! Trying to break the homerun record this season!... And only making like 500,000 K for the next 4 yrs! Lol. Loving this game right now though!!!
BTW... I have played every game and have not touched the sliders. Playing on all-star difficulty.
A side note... the only true cubs still on the roster are Soto and Zambrano. They are terrible... currently 4th place in the Central.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Just read through this entire thread while I played. Can you say addicted?
I'm struggling mightily as a LF on all-star difficulty and CPU strikes turned all the way down. I hit .250 in triple A through June but got a call up after making my four goals and seeing Pat Burrell get hurt (play for the Giants).
I was getting fond of the Richmond Flying Squirrels. We had a good thing going in first place with a cool logo/stadium, and now I'm in Fresno with a last place squad
I think I'm 4 for 30 right now in AAA, so I need to figure things out. If I guess a pitch and it's incorrect, does my contact go down? Is it better to not guess pitches?
I like the realism though, as I'm only 18 so I don't think I should be hitting .300. If all goes well I want to be in the show by 21.Last edited by Spocadia; 04-02-2011, 12:04 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Thank god.. after hitting ~.150 in AAA Pat Burrell is back and I get sent back down to AA. Was completely over matched up there. Back at home with my Squirrels
EDIT: I lied, still stuck in AAA with Burrell back. My player is rotting in hell in Fresno.Last edited by Spocadia; 04-02-2011, 02:05 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Just finished up my 3rd season of RTTS and although off-season simming always takes awhile it's getting really ridiculous. I started simming the offseason 12 minutes ago and i'm still in December. Some days literally have taken a minute to sim past. Is this a bug or is it something that just gets progressively worse from season to season? I'm used to it taking about 10-15 minutes to sim an offseason (which already is way too long) but I'm looking at a 30 minute timeframe to sim this one. MLB The Show, it's the little things like this disappoint me.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I just made it to the majors. I'm starting off the season as a bench player. I have a question...Whats the best difficulty to play on once im in the MLB? I want realistic stats, I don't want to hit 60 homeruns with a .400 average like some of these guys. I want to feel accomplished hitting .300 and 20 homers and eventually 30 and maybe 40 one day. Whats the best difficulty or sliders to have a realistic career?Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Im in my first full year with the Toronto BlueJays.
6'3 LHP.
1 year in AA
2nd year: 1/2 in AAA 1/2 in MLB
First year in the bigs.
Im struggling somewhat compared to my minor league numbers. 6-8 with a 5.37 ERA.
Jays are 59-54 and fighting for a Wild Card spot. Im trying my hardest to get out of Toronto.Last edited by Chardon; 04-02-2011, 07:20 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I'm a power hitter and I refuse to waste XP on bunting ability. I missed 2/4 Advancement Goals and was sent to the bench. Two games later, I get a pinch hit single, Torn Shoulder or something like that and that ends my season.
I sim to 2013, and in my first 8 at bats, I've struck out 5 times. Not fun.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Starting off the season playing off the MLB Bench. I put the settings on Legend because I don't want to have easy stats and want it to be a challenge. I'm struggling so far in about 20 at bats I have 12 strikeouts and 3 hits. One of them a oppositive field homerun in comericaComment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
In Mid-July 2012 and have started to turn the corner in AAA. I was mostly a singles hitter at the end of May, but I started to hit for power in the month of June. Most of my ratings are between 50-60 and I think that is mostly responsible, although I may change the difficulty and sliders to make things harder some later.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Umm...is there some sort of thing that when you get injured, and you come back you automatically suck insane amounts of ***?
I went on the 60 day DL to end the 2012 season, and now in 2013, in AAA, I am 50 At Bats in and my stats are:
.091 AVG, 4 hits, 23 Strikeouts, 2 RBI.
I am not a bad player, I have low 60s everything except plate Vision and Discipline, which are 58 each, I've been desperately trying to get them up because I feel they are two of the more important categories, but any points I can scrape together I have to throw at advancement goals.
I would say that having lower Vision/Discipline could be the reason I'm eating so much dick, but I had a decent season in AAA with those levels last year. It just seems right now that everything hits the corner when it looks like it won't, and anytime I make contact it's WEAK.
I finally caved and turned it on to rookie. I really wish they'd just send me down to AA while I figure it out, having me get my *** handed to me doesn't help me at all.
I've gone through some pretty bad slumps in my 2 year career, and some hot streaks, but this is just on another level that it's gone on for so long and been so bad that I actually changed the difficulty.
To take my mind off RTTS, I played an exhibition with my home Red Sox vs the Mariners, and I played my best game yet, and won my first game. I was even laying off of almost every bad pitch, and chased the starter in 5 innings because I made him throw so many pitches. That NEVER happens for me.
Clay Buccholz went 8 shutout innings allowing only 4 hits and walking nobody. He only had 89 pitches but I wanted to pitch with Papelbon so I brought him in and the Mariners went 1-2-3 in the 9th. I had 10 hits, scored 4 runs, it was great. I went back to RTTS and promptly went 0-4 with 2 Ks.Last edited by meep316; 04-03-2011, 05:22 PM.Comment
