No way my outfielder (playing mostly LF at the moment for his AA team) has a shot at 100 chances. Although, in the same game he made his first error of the period (and 3rd of the season), he threw a guy out at the plate for his first assist of the season!

And error-prone positions like SS or 3B, they have little chance at a .990 over any stretch of time.
I've seen some complaints on the issue last year. A lot of unrealistic goals got removed, but this one stayed around.

Has Anyone done a Remake a former players Career? if so Who's?

Im thinking of doing this with some players who didnt make it to the hall of fame, Primarily being a Jays fan heres a few ideas...

      Joe Carter
      Candy Maldinado
Jose Bautista (being a power hitter before he turned 29)

      Albert Belle
      Bo Jackson
      Doc Gooden
      Mo Vaughn
Mike Sweeney (not as many Injuries)

Anyone ever think of doing this? any ideas for players whose careers got cut short because of injuries? more Ideas the better. Who would you choose

Not really resurrection but I've been playing Brett Butler and David Cone this year. It can be weird since we don't know how these players would've been rated at different points of their careers.

That is true, I just think its a cool idea and you know generally what the player was like in their prime.

Example lets say Albert Belle in his prime, Hit for enormous power, average Contact, stole the odd time wasnt the greatest fielder had a decent arm and was clutch, max out the good, let the bad stabilize and the rest for the most part leave average. Best part being you will be able to sort of pretend what it would be like if these players remained healthy and could continue their prime years consistently.
Most of us baseball nuts know how fun it is to look up past stats and evaluate players from their prime.
Lets not forget getting their physical appearance down pat, thats good times too.

I guess ressurected is a bad word lets say Remake

Didn't get "called up" and also didn't complete my advancement goals, resulting in a benching. Worst Saturday ever.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

Mid-way through my first season with the Braves (and the Mississippi Braves) I was having a so-so year (.286 21/3/22) I was traded with Freddy Freeman to the Twins for Jim Thome. I felt like I was a player-to-be-named-later (as Freeman is a A-prospect, already in the bigs and Thome has one foot (and maybe a shoulder and a back) in the baseball grave...

              But no...

Right after the trade I got called up to the Rochester Red Wings in AAA. They. Are. Terrible. Do the Twins have the worst farm system in MLB? I think we finished with 49 wins... 35 games out of 1st. I struggled for the remainder of the season (.265 36/3/44) but made all my goals so I never got benched. I'm on fire to start the second season (.465 11/3/10 through 10 games) and I'm 2nd in the organization (behind Delmon Young I presume). We still suck. 1-9 to start the season.

Twins fans... what gives? Where's the beef on the Farm? Are we record-breaking underachieving or is the cupboard really this bare? If so I'm gonna have to demand a trade pretty soon.

(My power numbers are terrible as I haven't "juiced" my player since I started this after the PSN/Store went down. Also Thome retired at the end of my 1st season... nice trade Atlanta.)

Likewise... I hate the baggy pants look and stirrups make you look very gay.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Anyone ever gotten the "have a field percentage above .993" committed an error and recovered to still make the goal? As an OF it might as well be "commit 0 or fewer errors" because, and I'm not a math wiz so correct me if I'm wrong, if you commit one error, you'll need 142 clean plays to get back to above .993. Even at SS or 1B I think 142 clean plays is asking a lot in a two, three or even four week span.

Right, so basically the goal forces us to make no error at all. Not a good goal at all. Basically means you'd better make no play in order to avoid committing error. If the goals is to "make X assists/putouts" or something along that like, it makes more sense.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

ha. Yea. I've found myself holding onto the ball or running into the infield when there's no need to throw (fielding a single, guy held up at 2nd, etc) just to avoid the risk of an overthrow and a BS error.

How do you avoid being inaccurate when you throw? Less power? Last night I was completing the play just for show and I got an error that will ensure I'll miss this week's AG's. It was a short pop-up to Left that I charged and caught with runners holding at 1st & 2nd. I just flicked the stick to throw it to 3rd (when I could've just stood there) and my dude threw the ball (violently) directly into the ground at his own feet and it bounced/rolled right by the 3rd baseman and right by the pitcher backing him up (who didn't even flinch). The ball was a foot to the left of the pitcher who just stood there as the runners advanced and the catcher ran to go pick it up.

                      Awesome. Thanks. WTF was that?

Hopefully MLB12 will have the option next year to edit arm hair.

Late in my Little League career, my coach allowed us to wear soccer style socks and I loved them much more than the fake stirups they used to make us wear. The soccer sock is what I wear on RttS.

RTTS is bugged in this respect. I simmed 5 years of a franchise. Starting the 3rd offseason, teams begin to hit a budget wall.4th offseason on,95% of all Type A free agents get no offers from anyone and remain in FA. The game AI can't offer 15-18 million, so it offers them nothing. Everyone will be in this predicament when they enter FA in RTTS.They need to make RTTS budgets off next year.

Is this still happening this year? Does that mean that by year six there will only be one ("THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!!!" - thrusts bat in the air -) superstar (your RTTS) while all of the others sit on the sidelines unable to get a contract offer? Your RTTS player will be maxed out and beating up on rookies, prospects, average vets and over-the-hill stars?

Yikes, that really is a bummer, this SHOULD be the highlight of the entire RTTS mode, plus winning a World series but we all know what thats like as well. RTTS is solid and alot of fun but this really brings it down a peg
