Re: Avoiding a trade in RTTS?

You have to reload an old save and just try simming past the day you keep getting traded on. That's the only semi work around that I've found. Can be frustrating, but it IS possible to avoid being traded. Just have to have a couple of older RTTS saves.

It's fielding related only. Your pitch speed has something to do w/ keeping all of your pitch types velocities the same.

For arguments sake, all 3 of my pitches are at 99 velocity(4 Seam FB tops out at 102mph, slider is in th elow 90's and cutter in the mid 90's), but my arm strength is in the 60's.

It's all about pitch types and keeping the skill ratings close. There are posts on here explaining it much better than I am.

Re: Avoiding a trade in RTTS?

Yeah you're pretty much screwed. I had the same thing happen to me as a SP for the braves. My stats were crazy good but my ratings were mediocre. So they kept trying to trade me over and over. I had to reload saves then spent a point here or there to change the outcome, they would still trade me but to a different team each time. I eventually decided to tank a few games to balloon my era and walks which finally worked, they stopped trading me before july 31.

Of course I didn't know I could still be traded past the deadline so they traded me again in august, so I had to reload an earlier save and tank some more games. Finally I stayed put, then next year my ratings were superb and eventually become the staff ace at the end of sept.

THEN they sign a one year deal with me in the off season and promptly trade me straight up for an older (30+), worse pitcher from the giants. I gave up and decided to stay with the giants who have the overall number one team ranking for ratings. Lincecum and I will destroy the national league and the braves end up with a very badly rated team. Pretty much last or near last in every category including pitching. Screw 'em.

Re: Avoiding a trade in RTTS?

This is very strange to me. Only because I was drafted to the Phillies organization, an A prospect with absolutely killer numbers in games. However, my scouting report says that my potential is the only thing good about me.

Played one entire season in AA, started the All Star Game, through a shutout during those 3 innings.

I was first in the league in just about every other category except ERA which was a 1.89 and the next lowest was 1.6 something.

I was resigned and promoted to AAA but no invited to spring. I was then sent back down to AA before the first game of the season because they thought I wasn't ready.

Consistently hit my goals for the first month while pitching lights out every game.

Eventually got an e-mail that said "We do not usually do this because your numbers are low. But you are the best pitcher in the rotation and we have no choice but to promote you" or something like that.

Been in AAA every since pitching shutouts and 1 or 2 run games still hitting 100% of my goals.

The point of this post. I have not even been offered in a trade, not once since going to the Phillies and I even asked to be traded and they said no...

So to me, it is really amazing that you guys are getting traded so much. I would like to go to the Red Sox or at the very least, the AL but they refuse.

What does a guy have to do to get traded is my question?

Okay, guys, thanks for the advice. I guess he's screwed then, because I don't have an older save. I'll just go with it and hope I get traded again then, since I don't care to be a closer in the AL East.

              Re: RTTS: Your pitchers pitches

              4SFB - Rated 94-100 tops at 96.
              Slider - Rated 87-90 tops at 89
              Cut Fastball - 90-94? I think tops at 90
              Circle Change - 83-89 I think? tops 85

I usually find myself pounding the zone 0-0, 0-1, 0-2, then throwing a hard slider for the SO outside for righty's.

I sometimes on 0-1 will throw a slow change to set them up for the high heat for the SO, which is my favorite way to send a batter back to the dugout. Nothing is more satisfying then watching a batter stand their stupified as a 96-97 MPH fastball snaps the mit belt high.

For lefty's, I will somtimes run the cutter in on the hands at 90MPH and then hit the low corner with a SLOW CC.... another of my favorites because lefty's love to lunge after that CC in the corner...

I guess at this point my favorite pitch and most effective pitch is the slider. I have spent a good amount of points on control and break. I can slide it hard or slight depending on what I need. I will hit the red and then hit location for a hard break and then sometimes keept it just before yellow for a slight break to make it hit the outer edge of the zone be it a corner or just dust the black of the plate.

RTTS: Would you sign with the Yankees?

A lot of people see the Yankees as the Evil Empire, the team that buys championships(myself included).

In my RTTS I play 3B, and the Yankees are in need of a 3B. My contract with the Brewers is up this year, and I wondered, If the Yankees offered me a contract would I sign with them?

My answer is no, mostly because at this time of my career im looking to go to a bad team, a team where i would be able to hit in the 3 or 4 spot. Where if I were to sign with the Yanks I would probably be hitting 7 or 8, like I am with the Brewers right now. I might sign with them later in my career if I need a championship.

So would you sign with the Yankees if they offered a deal?

I guess it really depends. If I had a choice and I was playing for a team where I was having a good year and we had a shot at the playoffs, no. If I was on a dreadfully horrible team that was a lost cause, I may as long as I was a starter.

Then again, my main RTTS is a SP so it would be different for me.

Most likely, though, the Brewers may just dump your unless you have an option.

Hey guys I'm back. I went on vacation and then forgot about this when I came back but what I wanted to say is i also have another guy instead of my 1B. This one is a starting pitcher his stats are through the roof and today after a while of being the best player on the jays roster and still playing in AAA I got called up to the show

That's a tough one, i too am a 3B currently for the Oakland A's and my contract is up this year, should the Yankees be my only contract offer then yes i would sign, provided it is only a 1 maybe 2 year deal for some good cash... But if I had any other option, including a return to the dreadful (so far) A's, as a diehard Red Sox fan I would have to go elsewhere...

Nice!!! I can only hope being 1st in the league in ERA and SO's that I will get the call someday.

I just pitched a no hitter against Durham last night and got an e-mail that said, your skills are ready but we think you would benefit from more time down here.

I wonder if this is what it is like to be a R/L rookie. The frustration of not making it to the show, having your manager and GM tell you you need more time, playing you backside off with nothing to show for it?

If it is, my hats off to the devs because they have captured that feeling masterfully.

So if the choice was to play for the Yankees or retire you would retire?

I am a diehard Sox fan and even I wouldn't do that in a video game... There is no message being sent in a game.

In R/L I would absolutely exhaust ALL other options.

In my perfect situation, I would be the starting 3B for the Red Sox. I was on the team until they traded me and another (very good) prospect to the Brewers for McGehee(3B).

I got to play in one game against them in Fenway, and I went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a triple. Fenway Park is my main motivation to eventually sign with the Sox even though they traded me. Fenway turns all your 380FT fly outs into 2B's, 3B's, and HRS
