I love those total bases and RBI goals for having a low-power fast player. I run into the same issue. Only thing you can do is save on the day before you finish a goal period, and then quit and re-load the save file and hope you get more sane goals next time. I do it every time my lead-off 55-power hitter gets a goal like "hit 5 home runs in the next 4 series" or that ridiculous RBI goal.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Well I'm almost two months into my 2nd RTTS player and I get traded. This time from the Reds to the Braves. I'm a Closer so I don't quite understand why the Braves would need one--Kimbrel is more than serviceable (although he isn't listed as a closer on the roster).
I wonder if the trade logic and movement needs tweaked next year? It seems like teams trade you a lot. I think there needs to be some balance here. I can maybe understand getting moved closer to the deadline in a package for a veteran bat or something, but why would a team trade me less than two months after drafting me?
I was traded in my other RTTS, as well, from the Phillies to the Tigers. That one I was more upset about, mainly because I picked the Phillies and am stuck on the Tigers until free agency in another four years. But I loathe the Braves and now I got traded to them, likely stuck there for six years with my 2nd player. It seems like the game might be overcompensating for a lack of trades in past versions.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Seems like every reliever and many of the position players gets traded their first year, a few months in. I think it's because the game is over-valueing your "A" potential status.
The only ones of mine that haven't been traded their first year was the SP in the Pirates org, the SS in the Astros org, and the two position players that were pretty much struggling offensively their first year (and even one of them, I had to reload saves several times to avoid being traded). If you're playing for a team that has a playoff shot, they're likely to trade you for someone that can help them now.
And even starting with a "bad" team may not be a good idea, my one CP got drafted by the Orioles and they were in last place by July, traded him to another last place team (Arizona).Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Ok, there is something about this game that is driving me crazy. I have made it to the show and am the starting 3rd baseman. Our offense is by far the best in the majors, but our pitching gives up like 10 runs a game. Just finished a game losing 17-7. That is the norm. Does anyone know how to adjust the settings to where my team isn't getting killed every single game. It doesn't matter how well our offense does because every one of our pitchers is sitting with an ERA above 8 and I can't figure out how all of the pitchers on my team are that bad. Makes me feel like I might have the settings set to where the opposing teams offense is just 10 times better when they play us.
I've had pretty decent luck with Bobhead's sliders, my pitchers seem to be about as effective as they should be, and my teammates are doing okay as well. I cranked the human contact & power up a bit (since I'm playing on A-S, to get a chance at walks), but other than that, I'm pretty much using his numbers.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I'm this close to smashing the disk. I CANNOT get a hit on any sort of line drive. They all go *directly* at fielders and have been doing so for the 1.5 months (in the game) that I've had my power over 50. At some point shouldn't my player having all 99 ratings (other than powers, both 56) balance this out? Fielding sliders don't even do anything since the balls go right to where fielders are standing. Anybody else experience luck *this* bad for this long or is there something wrong with my save file?Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
On the bright side...I'm one of the top 3 for Gold Glove OF since I'm one of only 2 remaining outfielders with a 1.000 fielding percentage. Matt Gamel is the other. Seriously, Devs, basing Gold Gloves on team alphabetically and fielding percentage is pathetic. I'm leading league in putouts and assists for 3rd year in a row and only now might win a GG.Last edited by ChernoTheInferno; 07-28-2011, 10:36 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Hello, I just signed up and I wanted to know how to get my pitcher to CP. I'm in the Blue Jays AAA team and i've been a set-up guy for like a year. My stats are 0.45 ERA and 18 hits with 39 strikeouts and no walks. Record is 7-1, so can anyone help.Throw up the X!

Do you make all your advancement goals? Are you a RP or a CP?Comment

My CP served as the setup guy his entire first year. 2nd year, they named him the closer in AA to start the year.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
My RF finished his first full year in the bigs. RF for the Indians batting 4. Strong year, finish with .300 33HR 104RBI, best on the team, and then the offseason comes around, and I'm looking for a big raise from 200K. I get offered a one year deal for 450K. The second best player on the team makes 8 mil, and they are willing to pay me 480K tops. Oh well, I only have to play for the Indians for 6 years.MLB: Detroit Tigers

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I don't have a feel for the MLB The Show financials just yet. In my first year, I made it to the majors (significant injury to Paul Konerko) and won ROY. In the offseason, I was offered a 5 yr contract at 8,150,000 with no options to be the AAA starting 1B.
What are the potential consequences for me signing this deal? Is it too many years for the start of my 2nd year? Is the money acceptable? Should I be tweaking the offer and countering? How does this all work?
Thanks!!Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
A five year, 8 mil per year deal after you first year is pretty good. On top of that, you can't be a free agent for years anyway, so you're not going anywhere and no other deal is going to offer you anything yet. Either take that deal or....nothing. Take the deal.EPL - Arsenal
