Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
He finished his last 11 starts with a low 1.00 ERA (HOF pitching). I decided to go with him as my ace in the postseason and did nearly the same job.
I play this year with the White Sox and I'm still great with him. (3 starts 2.60 ERA).
He has two strong pitches. His FB tops the 97 MPH and his slider has a good movement.
His curve his great too.
Only his change could be better since he throws it @ 89-90 MPH which is only 7 MPH less than his FB.
He has a good stamina, a good K rating. Only his control is average.
So I would say go with Jackson. (FYI, I've never pitched with Garza !)Comment

And probably McCutchen as well. A 30-30 outfielder in his prime, to make it fair you would have to give up a few prospects and an all star in return.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
For Carter, I would have to say some kind of power in return, since he is supposed to one day be that much needed power hitter. Lacking that, perhaps an upgrade at third base, a position they haven't been able to fill since Chavez. They are already stacked with outfielders, starters, and the best bull pen.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
First season of my Tigers franchise. Need to find a SS/3B. I'm thinking Yunel Escobar in Toronto. He got sent down a few weeks ago so he's clearly not in favor with the team. I can send Inge there for him straight up and they do really need a 3B. Inge just has not done anything for me. He has zero bat and I need a little more offense from someone in my infield besides Cabrera.
Does a straight up Inge for Escobar work? Or is there somebody else that needs to be added to either side. I'm slightly skeptical if the Tigers would even trade him, but he's doing nothing for me and I doubt they would ever send him down so I'd rather send him elsewhere.Youtube Channel: www.youtube.com/lllCASH

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
I just made a trade to give me some immediate rotation help and a true lead-off hitter. Livan is on the 15-day DL and Marquis just went down for an "unspecified amount of time", so I had to do something to help my rotation. Also, the top of my order is suffering. Ankiel cannot hit lefties and Desmond is just not getting it done. I need a true lead-off hitter with lead-off speed. At the all star break, I'm eight games back in the NL East and seven games back in the wildcard race. Not quite out of it yet.
Nationals give-up:
AJ Cole (RHP, Baseball America #4 prospect in Nats organization)
J.D. Martin (RHP)
Roger Bernadina (OF)
Nationals get:
BJ Upton (OF)
James Shields (SP)
I think its fair for a couple of reasons. I gave up one of the top young pitchers in the minor leagues along with a starter and a decent outfielder with big league experience. In return, I took on the contract year of BJ Upton and took an "older" pitcher off the Rays hands. Not to mention, the Rays are well out of contention right now (16 games back).
Let me know what y'all think.Last edited by Cod; 04-23-2011, 08:31 AM.Comment
