Originally posted by A-CamAlright gang.... 2 weeks left till the trade deadline with my A's, and my all-star Right Fielder David Dejesus who was sporting a .320 average is out for a month, as my offense has stalled with absolutely no power on the roster outside of Chris Carter and Hideki Matsui. However, when I am playing the games, I can't hit at all with Matsui. He has a .290 average, with 22 homeruns and 68 RBI's with 82 games played. He is on a tear, so his value will be high, and I would like to buy a little and sell a little, as I own a slim lead over the Rangers in the division, and would like to put them away.
So, I'd like to put a splash on my A's roster and add a huge bat.
Gerard Green is an A potential Shortstop Prospect, who is the A's best player in the farm. I brang him up a few weeks ago, and he has shown great signs of being a true player, as he has taken Mark Ellis' slot in the lineup. He is a ready now player, that can contribute as the Brew Crew's shortstop of the future.
Michael Choice is another A potential prospect, whom is their 2nd best player in the farm. He's a do it all player, who has developed into a finely tune player in triple A. He is a do it all Center-Fielder who will be ready for the bigs by next year.
Ian Krol is a B potential prospect, and is widely considered their best starting pitching prospect. A top 10 talent in the farm, and a nice young lefty, who has excelled in Double A at the ripe age of 19.
Daric Barton is a solid, young 1st Basemen for the A's. He is another B potential player, that can start ASAP. He has a great eye, a nice glove, good contact, and is a very patient hitter, whom was widely considered the A's best prospect just a few seasons ago.
Joey Devine is another A potential player. He was a shutdown reliever for the A's in 2008 as he hoisted a beautiful 0.59 ERA in 2008. He K'd 49 Batters in only 41 innings. Due to a tommy john surgery, Devine has missed the last 2 seasons, but is ready to play and has performed in AAA with an ERA under 1.50
Giving up such great assets would mean that I am getting a bonafide star in return.
Prince Fielder.
Fielder is my missing piece. A 1st baseman that allows Carter to DH, a lefty slugger that spaces out my roster. A legit cleanup hitter to protect Michael Young. The Brewers are out of the race, and Fielder will be shipped as they are sellers in the market.
Carlos Gomez will also be in the trade, as he will give me another speedster/glove, that can start until Dejesus returns, and then return to a platoon role.
Thoughts?
My 2 best A potential prospects (1 is ready now), another A potential prospect, a ready now B potential young 1st Baseman on a cheap deal, and my best pitching prospect whom is a B for Prince and Gomez.
Fair? Realistic?
Keep in mind that I'm in 1st, and buying, and they are selling, and Fielder is in his last year and will most likely be dealt. This trade would also signify a 2nd trade at the deadline which would send my All-Star Hideki Matsui and top notch reliever Michael Wuertz to a team that is buying. I'd receive a prospect, preferably a middle infielder. (Brett Lawrie?) I like to keep it realistic as well..
It is a fair trade, or perhaps more of a steal by the CPU, but why do you want to blow up so much of your team when you are winning? It sounds like you want to trade just to trade. You give up your top two prospects, one of which has already replaced Ellis, thus making him a part of your future right now. You already have a legitimate power hitter at first in Carter, Willingham can now play full time since DeJesus is hurt, thus giving you more pop. You don't hit well with Matsui, but you sim more games than you play so that doesn't really matter. And then you lose Choice, the future of your outfield. While he can be replaced much easier than Green, it just seems like you are giving up way too much for a player that you might not even be able to re-sign. If you don't, you might get lucky enough to get another A potential player, but you gave up 3 and 2 B's. It just seems like a lot to give up and could cost you that slim lead over the Rangers by blowing up your team.
I also find it hard to believe they rated Devine as an A potential. He is a D potential in The Show 10.Comment

As for me and my A's, I'm certainly going to try to stay in the bottom 8-10 in the league payroll wise. Therefore, I doubt that I'll ever be able to make a move for many big name players. Right now I'm fairly content with my team but, once Harden gets back for the DL I'll have some pieces to move if I choose to do so. My weakest position is 2B followed by 1B. Ellis is doing everything he can just to stay over .200. LaRoche took advantage of Ellis' slow April and grabbed the starting spot from him but, now he's tailing off too (as he's on a cold streak). Our 1B platoon of Barton & Conner Jackson has been less than impressive, as well but, I'm hoping one of the two can put it together and become the everyday starter. I'd probably say fair but, I don't know about the realistic part. Mainly because when's the last time in the Billy Beane era that they have made a blockbuster deal like that at the deadline? I could easily be forgetting someone but, I can't recall him ever making a move like that. It's your game though so, play it however you want and do what makes it fun for you.

And yea, I was thinking of going the prudent route, and just making a move for Carlos Pena, and then deal Matsui for a prospect or 2. Definitely weighing in on my options. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
i just lost Jokia Soria for 3 months with a torn shoulder. I need a closer in the worse way, i was thinking about going after Brandon Lyon from the Astros, they are 7-29 and suck the big one.
what would be fair trade value for him?
Clearly i am the Royals.Comment

Originally posted by A-CamEscuse me, Grant Green.I'm from New York and am a Yanks/Jets/Knicks fan, so I am not too informed on the A's farm.
I am currently a half a game up over the Rangers, and if I fall out of the division, I won't make the playoffs, as the wildcard is loaded.
Willingham gives me pop for the next month or so, but if you look at his stats for me (vs. RHP .182 vs. LHP .343) He nails lefties for me, but can't touch righties. Also, almost all of his homers are vs. lefties.
Also, I plan on playing every game of the last 6 weeks, and I have been playing 2 games of every series for division/big teams, so I've been playing a lot more, and I would like to deal Matsui while his value is at an all time high, as he may hurt me in the long run.
Barton has pretty solid value, and I don't want to it on the bench. Devine is an A, which is shocking, but the men at OS were generous with him. I don't have a spot for Krol in the future, as I hope to have my top 4 men in the rotation locked up long term. Choice... is kind of struggling in AAA, and I wouldn't feel confident giving him the job next year. Green is the only player that I will hate to deal, but I plan on getting support in the middle infield in the future.
I hear you on green. I traded him and Sweeney to the Rockies for Adam Dunn. I didn't want to lose Green, but hey, it's Adam friggin Dunn. I also dealt away Barton for prospects since I didn't have any place for him. He is now tearing it up in Toronto. I managed to get my current SS out of the deal so not too bad I suppose. After I let Ellis go the first year, I still haven't been able to completely fill that hole. I have a draft prospect that I really hope pans out, because I have been patching 2nd base with Kouzmanoff, Pennington, Weeks, Cardenas, and even Barton before I traded him. No one seems to want the job.
I don't think you can raise Matsui's value just by doing well with him. Maybe a little if he has the hot symbol, but not much. I am pretty sure the CPU ignores stats and goes by overall instead when regarding trade value. Also take into consideration that Matsui has a ton of playoff experience. I know it doesn't matter on the game, but if you are looking for realism.....
Carter is a beast. I love the kid. I keep hoping he will turn into the next Frank Thomas. He just hit his 25th home run of the season for me, which I think is a career high. He has a good shot at getting to 30 this year.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Just started a chise with the Mariners and i'm looking for a utility OF with good speed, not too bothered about his bat as i'm looking good in the lineup and on the bench more interested in defence for late innings.
Also looking for a left handed back up 3B as Bonifacio is still a work in progress, was thinking about Blalock as a free agent what you guys think?Comment
