Re: MLB '11 The Show: Tips and Work Arounds

Is there a workaround, or known cause, for being able to save franchise files post patch? I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it.

New franchise. New Roster (Knight opening day, d/l via flash drive today...).

It seems you can only use default or online rosters to start a franchise. I also tried to start a new franchise using the same roster and was unable to save. Using the online roster I was able to save. My guess is that this is related to PSN being down more so over the new patch, which makes me wonder if this problem will happen anytime it's down.

with the new patch, do I still have to check those contract renewable guys during off season? (30team franchise)

about TRAINING, should I put it to MANUAL and not bother it forever?

          Nope.
I've been able to start/restart/download new...edit/save/start/restart...you name it to any roster/franchise/season...tried 'em all and have had no problems doing any save at all.
Seems to be something with certain users.
Very small amount of guys too.
          Strange.

No on the contract renewable...they will sign 'em.

You could go with training MANUAL and UNCHECK all the boxes for every team.
You should be good to go with that.

Re: MLB '11 The Show: Tips and Work Arounds

Ok, I was looking to get certain players through waivers, and I came upon this: if you put the other 29 teams settings to manual, you have total control over those aspects of the game. It's probably pretty obvious, but I never really thought about it before.

Signing LTC-You can release any player on any team into FA, and sign them long-term. The other teams will be notified, but they won't claim them unless you do it.You will need to re-add them to the 40, move to app level, and lineup/rotation.

Trades-You can put any prospect from any 2 teams(up to 3 players) in a trade, and it will be approved. You can even get it approved with zero trade interest from the other team. Just go to the other team's page and approve the trade.

Waivers-didn't really test this, but I assume you could get players through waivers as well.

Free Agency-same applies-if you see too many teams signing players in the exclusive period, just put their settings on manual and dont do anything to have them enter FA.

You can also change profiles and settings at any time, so just give the AI control when necessary. Remember-other 29 teams Manual for Waivers/Trades/Contracts/Free Agency when you want or to correct things the game ai does.

It'll work with 30 team control. I just wish you could do it with 1 team by switching to 30 team at certain points.

*EDIT*-No trades, FA signings etc. will be done if you don't do them yourself with settings on Manual, so put them on Auto to have game ai take over.

Well i am almost doen with season 1 on 30 team control. I am checking now to see if the Patch helped the 2014 bug. But if it didnt what do i need to do EXACTLY in the off-season to make sure that it doesent happen. Do I just re-sign all the prospects I have no Idea?

Regarding the 30 player FA fix, do older players digress quicker because they aren't being trained?

They may...I haven't gotten a chance to test this out yet.

                        From shigogouhou....

OK, I may have found a workaround for the "Save data created by another user" issue:
                        1) Boot up the game. As soon as you hit the menu screen, go over & save the default roster in a new file. Don't load anything beforehand; I tried this fix as soon as I got the error in my new RTTS & it wouldn't let me create a new roster file ("There is no file present" or something similar)
                        2) Once you've saved that roster in a new file, load whatever roster you want to use.
                        3) Save the roster you just loaded over the one you just created.

Now the roster you want is stored in a file created by you, so it's not going to get jammed up & it'll let you create RTTS/Franchise files with those rosters.
