I posed this question in another thread got no answer, i will try here. When u do a fantasy draft and picking a team to control how is your team payroll established? I have experimented with 11 and it seems random. Its not the real payroll in year 1 one the standard franchise cuz i checked. Is it determined by who u draft then formulated accordingly?

I believe it is in step with the original signings. The budget doesn't appear until after the draft, correct?...I think it sees the contracts signed to each team and gives it a budget structured off of that.
tabarnes??....

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
Knight, thx for the prompt response. Ur awesome. Its something like u stated i think. You are right tho that they arent shown til after the draft. Here is what i tried:
First I started a franchise on MLB 11 and took control of the A's and went to the manage roster screen(cuz there is no total anywhere for team salary) and added up the entire salaries of the team and it came to 63mil. I then went to the trade screen to see the budget available and it was 30mil. So I gather that the total team payroll/budget is 93 mil for the A's going into last season.
I then did the same for the Yankees, thier salaries added up to 134mil and their budget available was 29 mil, so their payroll/budget was at 163mil. A considerable amount more than the A's which should be no shock to anyone.
I then started another franchise again taking control of the A's and this time did a fantasy draft. I purposefully drafted high priced guys to see if the same payroll would be used or what. So after the draft the A's salaries amounted to 110mil with 14 mil budget available. So the payroll/budget in a fantasy draft with the A's was now 124 mil. Obviously considerably higher than the non fantasy draft. I then tallied the Yanks and they came in at 81mil in total salaries with 24 mil budget available, totaling 105mil.
So the starting payrolls for the top and near bottom teams funds wise differ greatly from a standard franchise to a fantasy draft. I then thought maybe each team had the same percentage of money left over based on what their salary started at based on the cost of the players drafted, but that didnt jibe either. The Yanks had 22% left over and the A's 11%. Maybe their is a sliding scale of percentange in fantasy drafts based on the city markets, I dunno.Last edited by Engine01; 02-20-2012, 09:18 PM.Comment

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
While the process of binding arb and the new FOA are different....it's really only eliminating the "in the middle" area that an arbitrator once had. Now it's the players offer of the teams offer, whichever is more reasonable. I don't think the game actually has an argument between the two sides in it's current form, so...
I believe it is and was 3 years/6 years....so that didn't change.
Party animal?
No ....(I haven't had a drink in 25 years) ...but I'm definitely not so tight that you could stick a lump of coal up my rear and I'd **** out a diamond.
I guess what I'm saying is...lighten up Francis....it's only a game.

CD guys, did you notice any change in the rigid season schedule? Are start times fixed at 1 and 7 o'clock local? Thanks again.Comment

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
Not sure if this has been asked before or not (it probably has), but did the budget issue from last year's franchise mode get fixed where CPU teams screwed themselves in 2013 or 2014?
It pretty much killed all the fun I was having trying to rebuild the Jays when I could hardly trade with any teams or see top tier free agents sitting around only getting 1 year contract offers because the CPU spent right to their limits.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
1) Are u able to pick 1pm or 7pm for Franchise games? If not, I would love to know why we can't pick our own game times.
2) Have they added any MLB single season or career records? It's currently very minimal. What about team records? I'd love to know when one of my franchise players becomes the all-time HR leader for the Marlins.Comment

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
If still like MLB11, franchise follows current schedule start time ( you can't choose). But you'll see a bunch of different starting time like 3:05pm 12:30 5:15pm. Pretty cool, if it's not 100% accurate to real schedule start time it's pretty close.Comment
