So apparently the Blue Jays would bench their 3x All Star, ROTY winning shortstop who hit 52 homeruns the year before in favor of Blake DeWitt, just because I failed a few advancement goals. That's pretty freakin' unrealistic. Come on, SCEA, there should be some logic in this game. If you're one of the game's premier players, there's no way in hell you should be benched for this.

Or if you happen to be the team's leading base-stealer, even if you don't have the elite Speed or Baserunning Ability, you shouldn't get benched because you run into bad luck on the basepaths twice in a row. I'm sorry, I understand that you want people to take baserunning seriously, but if you're in AA and you influenced your player to have "speed" as an outfielder, you shouldn't be given a strict leash on basestealing, that just takes away one facet of the game that would otherwise be enjoyable. A player with 50+ speed and 45+ baserunning ability to start off with shouldn't be on the chopping block like that. I could understand doing so in the majors would lead to being benched, but not in the minors, where many MLB players take more basestealing attempts then they would at the big league level.

You're already getting punished with the -10 points for getting caught trying to steal. Some people actually do study and try to read pitchers before trying to steal a base and some players don't get benched for having a 60% stolen base rate in AA.

I'm trying to have as much patience with this game as I did with last year, but if I keep working the count only to hit a flyball 300 feet in the air regardless of it's in the infield or outfield, or ground out weakly right at infielders, or every time I foul a pitch it's always a pop-up to where defenders can get to it, I may have to put this game down and resume my RTTS last year. At similar points in RTTS I'm not enjoying RTTS as much as I did last year, simply because I'm not seeing any hit variety, my average is terrible as I'm lucky to get any hit, I'm not permitted to steal lest I want to get benched and miss my goals. I've been more frustrated this year with this game than any other year and that's not a good thing.

I have always taken a decent salary, I don't think it helps a ton to take less. You could just keep a save of before you sign and sim to see what would happen if you take a high amount and a low amount. The theory would be the less you take, the more the team could use for other players.

Made a SP that was drafted by Seattle. Spent a few games in AA but was called up to AAA quickly due to injury. Upon the guy returning stayed at AAA as a LRP. Was doing well, asked for a start, got one. I stunk up the joint. Back to LRP. Once again a stud, asked or another start and threw 7 innings with 2 hits, 1 ER, 8k. Now am third in the rotation. Early in my career though and the Rainiers are abysmal at hitting.

Another couple of quality starts and wins for Randy Johnson against Pittsburgh and Chicago. Was moved up to #2 in the rotation behind Chris Carpenter, which I thought was lame. My start was pushed back just so I could be the #2 so it actually hurts them because now I'll have one less start on the season possibly. I'm something like 3-0 with a 0.97 ERA so far in 4 starts.

With my CF on the Braves we enter a game against Philly 1 game out of a tie with them for 1st in the division. I was on a 20 game hitting streak and I had already hit 4 of my 10 HRs this season against them, the 4th in game 1 of the series, in the 1st inning, 2nd pitch of my 1st at-bat, after a failed hit and run attempt my guy gets beaned in the back of the head by a 90 mph fastball. I ended up missing the rest of the game with a head contusion, we lost the game 1-0 slipping to two games back in the division, I miss the next 15 days(10 games) we were 63-48, 2nd in the division, 1st in the Wild Card race, over those 10 games we were 2-8 falling from 2nd to 3rd, 7 games back of 1st and 4 games out of the Wild Card race. Our record dropped to 65-56 while the Phillies improved their record to 73-49.

1st game after my injury was against the Nationals and instead of fighting for the NL East crown we're fighting to stay alive in the Wild Card race. I finished 2-3 with a HR(11), 2 RBI(36) and 2 runs(24) in a 7-3 win.

Man, I hear ya. I have a speed/leadoff 2B that has been traded twice already because I'm given stupid goals that I have no chance at making. I have virtually no power, but every period I'm told to hit at least one homer. I haven't hit one in three seasons. I have a 42 for power vs. RHP and less vs LHP.

And when you become an established MLB player, especially an MVP-caliber, face of the franchise, build-around-him type guy, you shouldn't get benched or even reprimanded for not walking eight times in two weeks. That's just dumb.

I like the idea of RTTS, but I think some of it needs to be changed. It's too focused on actually getting to the majors and not on building a career player. The game basically forces you to get to the majors as fast as possible regardless of whether you're ready and punishes you unmercifully when you don't accomplish those goals (even when it's virtually impossible for you to do so given your build).

I played SS for the Brewers for 4 years, i have some good power, and good speed, so i`ve batted 4th mainly for the brewers. My stats were always at least 30 HR 100 RBI 3.00 average with 30 SB, and then i got traded to Texas, because i didn`t sign a contract with the Brewers and i think i was arbitration elgible, so they just traded me.

I was really happy to get traded to Texas, but then i see that i`m batting leadoff now. Fresh off of a 40/40 season, and i'm batting leadoff. I really don't want to.

Does anyone know anything i can do? Should i purposely let my speed ratings decrease? I don't really want to do that, but its better than batting leadoff.

I can't remember, but isn't there an interaction where you can ask to be moved in the lineup?
