Im sorry i dont know if this has been brought up or anything but i think that it would be lovely if there was a mode where you could pick a current player and play as them during their career. The scheme would be the same as RTTS but basically create a legend. any ideas or info on this?

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
It took me forever just to get called up to Triple A as a CF with the Braves organization, so you're doing better than I was but I think was due in most part to the OF being so stacked that just because I was playing extremely well they had OFs that they could rotate around if one of them went down. Be patient and around the All-Star break and close to the trade deadline you team will start making moves to get you into the majors if you have been completing your advancement goals.Say "No" to railroaded MC modes.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
I currently have three RTTS players going. I have a SP which I exclusively play on my Vita. A stoner closer who I enjoy playing as because it's in short bursts. And I have a SS which is basically a just-for-fun type of player.
The SP is basically a Strasburg clone. He has the same H/W, number, throwing motion, and look as him. The SP was called up to the majors in late June of his first year. I haven't lost and I've only allowed 1 run in 120+ innings. Part of that is because I play on the Vita and I have it set to rookie so I can just relax at night and enjoy K-ing the opposing team. I was drafted by the Angels but I was traded about two weeks in to the Royals, where I am now my number 1 starter at the end of August. I'm second on the CY Young tracker and second on the ROY tracker. I'm playing on Rookie, but it's still fun.
The closing pitcher is probably the most realistic player I am using. I made his name Smokey Sir Dudenstein since that was an option. I made his eyes real baggy and overall just a complete pot head. I have his reliever music set to Insane In The Membrane. I was drafted by the Yankees, made it to AAA, and was then surprisingly traded to the Indians. I didn't play in the majors at all my first season, but was invited to spring training the following year. I pitched really poorly in spring training, yet I shockingly made the team. Because the Indians have Chris Perez, I was relegated to mop up duty. However, my era was sub 1, and I made the AS team as a closer, despite having no saves. I'm in my third year and have only blown one save opportunity, but because I am on one of the worst teams, I barely get any chances. I'm in June, yet I am over 10 saves off the leader because of how bad the team is. I keep changing the look and motion of my guy, but I have finally settled on him. At first he was 6-7, skinny, and used Valverde's motion. Now I made him a Verlander type clone. He's 6-7 225 and uses Verlander's motion. I'm enjoying him a lot, but I can't wait until I switch teams.
The third guy is as ridiculous, if not more so, than my first guy. He's a SS. At first, I made him similar to me, with the same name and body type, and I gave him my favorite stance: Bautista's. But it felt weird playing as him. I played the majority of my minor league time on the Vita because I didn't care. Now I only play on the PS3 because I need the HR animations. I dont field, so I focused exclusively on hitting, and he has 99 contact, power, and speed. I made him an Alex Rodriguez in Seattle clone. He's 6-3 190 and skinny, yet he has insane power. His last name is Rodriguez, but his first name is not Alex, it's Lorenzo. I was drafted by the Reds, and luckily I was traded. I'm now on the Nationals where we have the second best record in the MLB. Heres the ridiculous part though -- I have 69 home runs and it is the beginning of August. I played on rookie on the Vita, but once I made the majors and started playing exclusively on the PS3, I switched to Veteran timing. Unfortunately I am starting to come back down to earth now. I haven't hit a home run in 2 weeks and I'm stuck at the 69 plateau, unable to break through the 70 mark. It does feel good hearing 'Rollin' by Limp Bizkit every time I hit a home run, though. It's like the perfect song to round the bases to lol, so satisfying. I want to change him up because the A-Rod thing has gotten stale, but I can't settle on a new name or stance, or body type.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
my left fielder was playing for the marlins for a year in a half but randomly i get a pop up window and just like that im a blue jay. not real happy about the trade specially since the blue jays aren't a great team and the same division and the sox and yankees am i pretty much screwed for 6 years or is there a way to get out of the blue jays. i was actually looking forward to playing with the marlins but thats not gonna happen for nowComment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
I created a left-handed, switch-hitting pitcher with a sidearm motion. Sinker, Forkball, Splitter, Cutter, Changeup. Lots of ground balls and Ks. The slow changeup is especially nasty after throwing all those other pitches. I get quite a few called strikeouts on that. Swinging K's on the splitter. I use the cutter primarily to get lefties out, since it slides back over the inside corner. He's 21-3 with a 1.87 ERA and 274 K's so far in his 8th season. I sim most of the seasons, playing games here and there.
I maxed out his contact and power so he could actually do something at the plate too. He gets easy extra base hits because the outfield plays him like a normal pitcher and not one with power ratings in the 90's from both sides of the plate. Naturally, I'm going to try to play him in the NL exclusively so gets lots of ABs. I think that the CPU uses him as a pinch hitter in the games that I sim, because he has twice as many ABs as the other starting pitchers. He's playing for the Dodgers right now on an 8-year, $174 million deal, and he just hit his 10th HR of the season against the Rockies.
My next pitcher will probably be a knuckleballer, just for fun.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
So, I created a SS and am into my 2nd year. I'm doing pretty well but have run into an interesting problem. Whenever there's a wild pitch/passed ball, the catcher never goes to pick it up. I'm in AAA and thought it only would occur when on base, but just had it happen during an at bat. Am I the only one running into this issue?Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
I was called up to the AAA Iowa Cubs on July 7th of my first year.
I ended up batting .299 with 4 HR's, 34 RBI's, and 31 Stolen Bases in AA ball.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Definitely pitcher. It's fun blowing people....away with strikeouts. On a side note, made my second all star team with my closer and actually played. I struck out the side in the eighth, and then when going back to the menu, it froze on the loading screen. I tried to play it again, but I didn't make an appearance in the game.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Just finished my first full season in the big leagues in 2014 for the Dodgers. My player is 20 years old and plays 3B. Matt Kemp won the MVP with a 50 HR season and led us to the World Series were we defeated the Yankees!!! I hit .275 with 27 HR's and 97 RBI's for the season. I think I led the league in strikeouts, but that improved tremendously throughout the season.- LETS GO RED SOX!!!

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
TRADED TO THE ASTROS.
I've started 3 separate RTTS games (2 batters and 1 SP) and in every one of them I get traded to the Astros!! Has this happened to anyone else or do I just have horrible luck?!? (no offence to the Houston fans out there)Comment
