Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

The logic on this game is absolutely dumb.

After spring training the reds trade a double-a catcher for a double-a pitcher, then they demote me to triple-a to call up a randomly generated player. lol. I got called back up after that advancement period but still.

Batting around 300 mid way through AAA got drafted by the A's then traded in AA to the reds me and Bartolo Colon for Chapman then got called up beginning of second season and got traded to braves with d. Mesarosco (typo) for Brian McCann

Still in AA for the Rangers but just finished off the cycle with a walk off homerun. I am now hitting .350 with 15 homeruns and 50 RBIs. I started the year hitting .240 the first three weeks but have been on a tear recently.

Made a SS after troy tulowitzki. Put everything Power & Strength, but after 12 games only have 1 homerun, but i am batting around .460 mostly getting doubles and singles. Playing on All-star with modified sliders that i got from here.

Are you meeting your Goals or doing anything to piss off your manager? I got traded from the Braves to the Brewers immediately after a Goal deadline where I only met two of the four Goals. I had also gotten a warning email a week or so earlier about unauthorized base stealing. Otherwise, I was having a killer season to that point (hitting around .380, also). It could've just been a coincidence, but I really believe I was traded because the team was pissed at me for not meeting enough Goals.

It's not in your head. The pitching IS quite a bit better at AAA. At AA, I was seeing more pitches than not right down the middle. I ended up hitting .385 with 12 HR's in AA in about 230 AB's (missed about 50 games due to injury). I get up to AAA to start the next season and most of the pitchers are painting the corners like Maddux and Glavine and really mixing up the speeds very effectively. AAA definitely requires more patience. God knows what it's going to be like when I get to the Majors. After a slow start I'm now about 105 games into the AAA season, but in around 350 AB's, I'm hitting .320 with 23 HR's.

Well, I'm hovering around the .280 mark in AAA right now. I've noticed I see pitches better at night rather than the day time. Some of these minor league fields have awful backgrounds for hitters. Certain lefties kill me. I just don't pick up the ball as well. But, .280 better than the .154, which is where I started my first full season in AAA.

Seems like hits come in bunches. I love how the pre-batter graphics say I'm hitting .210 in my last 10 games before my first plate appearance. Then, after a 4-hit game. The next game it will say I'm hitting .400 in my last 4 or 5. I am definitely not consistent. I think I'm trying to balance out my strengths too much, if that's possible, and it's making it a slower process getting better overall.

Plus, I don't even take batting practice now. The slow BP fastballs threw off my timing in AAA. LOL

Ya I meet every goal perfect.. and I never received any warning email, I was on the Giants AAA squad traded to the Orioles. I'm in the big leagues now but I wish I could be playing for a better team like the Giants

Got off to a hot start in April of my 2nd Full MLB Season, hitting .400 but then tore my shoulder diving for a ground ball in early may.

Why does my guy sit out almost every 4 or 5 games?

My guy is rated third best hitter on the brewers, listed as an MLB Starter, i do all my goals, the only thing is my hitting is not that good, but my fielding is almost perfect (SS), and my speed is good too.

By the end of the year i end up playing around 120 games, and i can't win any awards, i can't win a gold glove because i cant get enough assists and putouts. So does anyone know why this is happening, and what i can do?

There is no duration attribute, DUR is durability, and that affects the ability to stay healthy. I don't think there are any attributes that affect your stamina.

I always thought stamina was tied into duration. But I've had a similar issue where i felt my player was given an off day too often and at weird times, like the day before a scheduled off day.

First year playing this game and I am absolutely loving RTTS with full game watching on (last pitch only). This is the ultimate for getting that true baseball feel without having to sit through every pitch. Watching the game unfold while waiting for your chance to hit or field is so awesome. Just wish I had more time to play.
