How long does it take to get to 'don't sign a contract, walk on to a team' free agency? I'm still pissed (a little) that I couldn't stay with my original team (Cardinals) no matter what. Although being traded to the Phillies helped a little. Which still makes no sense, given the Cards aren't exactly swimming in 2B/SS talent, and I was even rated the #1 2B in the organization.

I created a starting pitcher and got drafted by the phillies. Thru my first 2 games I have a 1.42 era 10 so 1 win 0 losses 9 hits and 3 walks. Ready for AAA.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
I created a CF and got drafted by the Braves. It's mid-May, I'm the 2nd best CF in the organization ratings wise and the best stats wise I'm batting .349 with 8 hr, 28 rbi, and 21 runs. I'm getting a little frustrated that I can't get a call up to AAA.Say "No" to railroaded MC modes.Comment

Soo I decided to start a short stop I get drafted by the rays. Thru my first month I'm doing absolutely pitiful lol. Here's my stats.
21 games 86 ab .209 average with 18 hits 4 runs 3 doubles 1 triple 1 home run 9 RBI and I struck out 6 times. And this is in AA. It seems like every time I hit the ball I hit it rite to the defense it's gettin really aggravating I can't seem to get out the slump.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
So the Mets just traded away 2 of their starting pitchers. Figured it would open up a spot for me in the 40-man roster and MLB club, but instead they move a setup man into the rotation and call up a AA player. My guy has been tearing AAA up for so long that he now has nearly the same overall as Johan Santana. I'm getting so bored with facing AAA lineups. I would demand a trade, but now it's pretty much turned into a personal mission of mine to make the freaking Mets.Mariners Baseball | Lakers Basketball | Rams FootballComment

To call you up means that they have to send someone down. Whoever they send down becomes available on waivers. Be patient, you'll get there.PSN: buckeye02Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Ok I could see not being called up to AAA even though I was better than the CF there because my ovr was still a D but now it's a B and the last 10 games I have been killing batting .525, 10 hr,22 rbi and 16 runs and I still can't get called up. For the season I'm batting .362 with 21 hr, 57 rbi and 43 runs scored. They've called up and sent down the LF from AA to AAA to replace the injured CF twice, I don't get it.Say "No" to railroaded MC modes.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
2012 - Created a 3B for the Atlanta Braves with hopes of eventually replacing Chipper Jones. After two months at AA Mississippi I get called up to AAA Gwinett. After two months in Gwinett and solid numbers for the year I get included in package deal with Freddie Freeman to the Twins for Justin Morneau. Finish the season as the #2 3B in the Twins organization.
2013 - In the middle of May I get traded for the second time. This time straight up to the Dodgers for Andre Ethier. Spend two days in AAA before the Dodgers recall me. Ranked as the #1 3B in the Dodgers organization.
Spend the rest of the year getting about one start per week while backing up Juan Uribe and pinch hitting every time you turn around. Finish the MLB season with 162 AB's. Honestly, can't say this is much fun or can I imagine a MLB team having a 19 year old kid riding the bench for 4.5 months. Would have rather stayed in AAA if they were not going to play me very much.- LETS GO RED SOX!!!

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Start of Year 3 (2014), and after being traded to the Nationals by my hometown Blue Jays midway last season (and leading the Nats' Syracuse Chiefs to the AAA championship over the Blue Jays' Las Vegas 51s), I never once got called up before signing a 1/$4.7 mil deal in the offseason to be the Ace and Opening Day starter of the Nationals staff as a 20 year old.
I wish I was still on the Jays lolComment

Yeah, i worked on my defense ratings (all 90s), and my baserunning ratings (all 90s) before i worked on my hitting, and i got called up to the bigs when i was 19, starting SS for the Brewers. My hitting ratings at the time were all in the 40s.NFL : Atlanta Falcons

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
I started a thread about my question regarding my RTTS but I guess I should have put it in here cuz I didn't get any replies. Here it is:
I'm a closing pitcher in my RTTS and I got called up to the majors in June of my second season. One thing I've noticed is that it is a ton harder to pitch to major league hitters! Which that is to be expected but it was a huge change. So I'm pitching out of the pen every few games and have more wins than saves at this point in the season. I'm biding my time but I have made a couple observations and was wondering if anyone else has noticed this or if this was something that I was imagining.
It seems that my catcher sets me up to fail. I've gotten used to just following his advice and allowed him to call the game sense I am the rookie. Doing so has caused me to have horrible games at times.
Now I know many would say that I am not executing his plan properly (and that may be the case sometimes) but after a few games of getting rocked and pulled under an inning I decided to go with my gut instead of following his advice. And what do you know, I reduced my hits and increased my SO's.
What I noticed is that sometimes he just starts putting off speed junk right in the middle of the plate or in the middle of the batters hot zones. When I throw that junk it gets rocked most of the time and the manager pulls me.
Here are my questions:
1. Does this happen to anyone else? (or is it my imagination)
2. Is the natural progression of a pitcher? (to start making the decisions on where to pitch the batter)
3. Should I turn off the suggestions?
4. What is your favorite "Punch out" pitch?
- Mine is High heat inside (top right corner). I'm a lefty so it works so much better against rightie's though. Don't really have a favorite for lefties.Comment

Hmmm, I'll have to try that tonight. Fielding is the only area where my pitcher is lacking (D overall). Never thought it mattered since I have a 1.000 fielding percentage.Mariners Baseball | Lakers Basketball | Rams FootballComment
