Yea but i'm pretty sure that's only to be moved up in the lineup, and its only for like 3 days anyways.

Also i was wondering if anyone else had this problem, where you get benched every 4 or 5 games, its annoying as hell, and by the end of the year you end up playing like 135-140 when you didn't get injured once. I've been on two teams, and both teams have done it.

Since you guys are the target market here, please take a look at Kirby from SCEA's thread.

Road to the Show Improvement Ideas
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

I had something weird happen. I'm the starting CF for the Tennessee Smokies. In early April the starting LF is put on the DL. He returned in mid-June and I was benched so he could be back in the lineup. I'm unsure why I was benched, because I was already starting regardless of him being injured or not. I completed all my goals and put up decent numbers.

The LF who replaced him should be benched, instead that player was moved to my position even though I have better stats then him and I'm rated above.

After being on the bench for a few games I was moved to first base as the starting first baseman even though that isn't a secondary position for me. But I would start the game, get 1 AB, and then the actual starting first baseman would come into the game.

That lasted for a few games, until another OF got injured and now I'm back in the outfield starting.

Just finished the all-star break in season 2 of my SP RttS.

I'm the 2nd best pitcher in the entire Giants organization, behind Lincecum (just barely)...and they have me still starting games in the freaking PCL. Can I get my cup of tea, already?

That's hilarious considering that when my player got hurt, he lost his starting job. Had to work back into the starting lineup because I was injured for a month.

Meanwhile, the guy in your RTTS got his job back and they benched you for no reason. I'm about to give up on RTTS and just focus on franchise.

This should be in the RTTS feedback thread. I had something similar where the team's 1B was injured, he returned, and I was benched (as the RF) but I didn't even notice it. Perhaps I should've when I they were playing me in CF and LF.

My main RTTS player is a SS for the Tigers in AA. Decided to make a contact hitter for once instead a of power hitter like i normally do, so far through about 20 games hes hitting around .320 with 2 hrs and 14 sb's (leading the league). and now i just started a RTTS with a power hitting LF for the Royals in AA. Have only played one game and i went 0-3

Hitting is so difficult for me that I put it on rookie/timing only. I still can't hit much better than .300 most of the time. I've been playing The Show for years, and I never can seem to get a handle on hitting. I don't understand how my timing can be perfect for a pitch which is a stike and still whiff or get a piddly grounder. Hitting almost seems like luck and it sure seems like the computer decides to make you go through some slumps. I've about decided to create a player, pump up my stats, put myself on the Rangers, and start playing a franchise. I have a love/hate relationship with RTTS.

Your player will get better. My first couple of years in the majors i hit .285 my rookie year and .294 my second year. Can't always expect to be the best hitter in the game right off the bat. Its realistic that you don't always get good contact when hitting. Ive had fastball's down the middle of the plate being popped up to the pitcher sometimes. Frustrating yeah. Realistic? Yes.

Considering league average isn't .300 (it's lower...), you probably shouldn't be hitting .300 to begin with unless you have the ratings for it. Instead of making it too easy, actually work on hitting. And perfect timing =/= perfect contact. There are many, many, MANY major leaguers that can time a pitch perfect and still miss. If you want to go be perfect at something, shoot free throws. No one bats 1.000 in the majors.

I started my RTTS with being a 1st baseman/RF power hitter and decided to get drafted instead of picking a team. I got drafted by the Yankees of all people, LOL, I did very well in AA @ .321 and went on to AAA were I also did well @ .329 but thinking there was no way I was going to crack the Yankees lineup with Teixeira there, I had asked for a trade and to change positions all along but they always said No,then at the end of my second season in AAA I got the news I had been traded to the Marlins for the 2014 season, I was going to be the starter at 1st base. I started last night and to my surprise hit my first HR in my second game in the majors So after 10 games I am batting .359 ( which is 8th in the NL ) with 4 HR and 12 RBI's , I love this game it is so awesomely fun.
One other comment when I first saw the Marlins uniforms when they announced the change I didn't like the look at all but now that I am playing for them and see the different types of uniforms and the colors I really like them alot!!

I had a good game the other night. I'm playing as a 3rd baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals and it's my first year starting. But anyway, The game was at home and it was against the Brewers and Ricky Romero(obviously traded).

But in my first at bat, I take a second pitch changeup dead to center thinking it was gone but Carlos Gomez caught it on the run.

I had my little cousin watching me play and he started riling me after Gomez made the catch about how I sucked because I thought the pitch was gone as I told it to " Get out. "

So my very next at bat, Romero throws a first pitch fastball down the plate and I crank it over left field.

After making contact and watching it in the air go towards left field, I literally shouted at my cousin to suck that and I then yelled at my t.v. for Gomez to try and catch that one.

Redemption feels good with this game. Haha.

So after venting yesterday about the Giants dilly-dallying with my player, who was dominating in the minors...

they go and trade Lincecum to the Jays for Bautista and prospects...and call me up to pitch long relief.

One game in, Zito gets touched up for 6 runs in the first inning. I come into the game, facing David Wright as my first hitter...Threw him a 99 mph running fastball on his wrists for a called strike, a 92 mph slider on the low outside corner for strike 2, then went with a high 4-seamer at 101 for strike 3, swinging. I pitched into the 6th inning of that game, racked up 11 Ks, and the Giants still lost 6-4.

After that, I had to save as go to work. But I was just informed that my first career start will be tonight at Coors Field vs. Tulo/Car-Go and the Rox. I'm going to give up some gopher balls in Denver...power vs. power doesn't end well there...
