Finally made The Show with my starting pitcher in the Mets organization. Coming out of the pen right now. So far I've worked 14.1 innings and am yet to give up a run. No idea how that has happened by the way. I'm constantly getting into jams (due to my control of my secondary pitches being subpar), but I've grinded it out. Hoping to get my first start soon.

I wish I was still on the Jays lol
I kinda like that I was left in the minors by the Nationals now. Opening Day, I went 7.2 IP, 2H, 0BB, 8K. Not a bad debut if I do say so myself lol

Finally I got called up to the majors as the 44-43 Braves look to make a push in the 2nd half of the of the season for a wild card spot. In 2 games as starting CF I'm batting .714 with 4 rbi and a stolen base.

I think it's silly if you are getting called up after hitting like crap. I'd rather earn my trip to the show

I haven't gotten much time to play lately, but here is the latest update. Got traded from Baltimore to Washington for a bag of balls and a snickers bar...I think I had to pay for the bag of balls though.

Hitting .320ish after 200+ AB's with 9 HR's. I hit 4th behind Arenado who is starting at 2nd. Harper is in AAA, so it looks like next season or the one after that, Harper, Arenado, and my guy could be anchoring a wicked lineup for the Nats. Hopefully I don't get traded again.

Another quality win for Randy Johnson in St. Louis. Went 7, gave up 6 hits, 1 walk, struck out 8, and gave up 1 run, unearned.

Is anyone a catcher? I want to be one so bad, but I can't, for the life of me, sit through a whole game of calling pitches. And only hitting 3-4 times a game. I can't believe we can't just skip fielding opportunities like all the other positions, and just hit. IS there anyway around this? And if there isn't, how are you guys coping with this?

Just won League MVP with Cinncinati.

.320 BA, 46 HR, 42 SB, 119 RBI but we finished in last.

It seems the more points I put into contact and power, the worse hitter I become. Do these stats actually mean something? I was better when I had average stats.

Here's my story i got drafted as a SS by the Brewers, played for double A NAshville Stars batted .323 10HR 21bi's...then to my surprised was promoted to triple a Sounds, from there i played about 69 games for them (.292 8hr 31rbi) then was traded to d Arizona Dbacks. so i played for the Reno Aces...where i just played well .349 20hr 53rbi...season 2014, i got promoted but was traded to KC Royals like in mid May, but i jelled so well with the Royals that i didnt even play one game of triple A for them went straight to the MLB were i just batted so well .362 25HR 66rbi, but what i dont get is that all of a sudden they put me on the bench, why? i have no clue...then to add insult to injury they sent me back to triple A(witht that avg and power why did they do that? is a glitch, no idea..i lost interest a lil bit cos i work hard for those and here's what blew me away they traded me again right before the all star break to the Padres, where i played about 9 games at Tucson (i hit .193 1 hr 3 rbi...i was the teams triple crown at the time for KC, team was doing so well only 2 games behind the Tigers (55-45)..they traded me to the Padres where they were in last place...to top some it all up i lead the majors in HR(39)RBI(111) and wasnt even on the top 3 on the MVP Race or any of the accolades...i know i cant have the triple crown cos i dont have enough AB's...it was really frustrating in a way but i dont get it.....i guess it"business" but damn i worked so hard for the Royals....anyway i just cant wait to face them whenever that may be....

Not sure if this has been brought up, but does anybody else wish the had a no trade clause in a new contract. Especially once you establish yourself in the majors? I kno I do. If its in the game I have yet to find it

On the last day of Spring Training my starting 2B got hurt. Again. Out for about a month or so. Come back and I'm on the bench in the MLB.

So I'm riding the pine, trying to get a starting spot back. And I am always told to "hit a home run" in my advancement goals despite the fact that my player has virtually no power (like 42 vs. RHP and less vs. LHP) and is a lead-off type guy. I haven't hit a homer at any level in two+ years (and I skipped AAA).

Also, anyone know how many training points it takes to fill the blue bar? I can never tell how close it is to full or empty. I don't want to pump 60 points into something if 40 will do it.

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

I was just thinking about this: It seems a little unfair that the game will penalize you for missing your goals and other times it won't reward you for making them.

I've had times when I reached all four goals and I get a message saying "You've done everything we've asked, but we just don't have room for you" or something to that effect. I've had other times when I miss one or two of the goals and I get benched indefinitely or traded immediately.

Of course, getting benched is the kiss of death because you can't accumulate training points then. And your guy languishes then.

And here's the other problem I have so far: If you reach your goals, you advance -- EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT READY. My guy is nowhere near MLB-ready, but because I hit some goals, I became the starter in the Majors.

Of course, I got hurt, then benched (because I was injured) and then missed my next set of goals, setting me back again.

What if reaching those goals, instead of just automatically advancing you (for the most part), got you additional training points? That way you could improve a little more and be ready when you actually do get promoted, but you're not advancing beyond your abilities. I find the advancement part of RTTS very frustrating.

In honesty, it seems better to stay in the minors for as long as possible and build up your ratings, but you can't do that without failing goals and if you do that, you get benched, further hampering your abilities. Total catch-22 if you ask me.
