Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

I am currently in my 3rd season (2nd full season in AAA), and I am raking the ball right now. About 3 weeks before the All-Star break hitting .367/13hrs/49rbi. Currently in the Mariner organization. I'm surprised I haven't been called up since I have been hitting all my goals to this point and Adam Kennedy the starting 3B in the bigs is hitting .235 1hr. I am thinking about asking to be traded in hopes of catching on with a better organization. Thoughts???

Just wish I had more time to play.
me too! although at times I go back to classic setting as it takes a long time sometimes to play RTTS that way.

its funny, the combination I really want is the ONLY combination that seems unavailable in RTTS. I want to play every fielding (last pitch), all baserunning pitches, BUT only my batting opportunities. is there a way to do this? I think the closest is what you describe, where I have to watch the last pitch of all my teammates at bats. sounds like a small difference, but that adds like 20-25 minutes to a game! I had a 19 inning game once, and it took forever!

hope we get a wishlist thread soon so I can add this for next year (or a patch)...pretty easy setting to add since they already have the separate combinations all programmed...call it CLASSIC, PLAY RESULT (ALL), PLAY RESULT (FIELDING), or something..

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

Ugh, oh so close to a no hitter. It was the last game of the season. I made it into the 8th with one out. My concern was that I was going to get pulled before I could do it because by the 7th, I was already at 112 pitches. My fears turned out to be unfounded because even after giving up the 1st hit, I was not pulled. Then after giving up another hit, I was still not pulled. After the third hit, I was finally pulled. My final line was 7.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 7K. I'm not sure what my final pitch count was, but it must have been up around 140.
A screaming comes across the sky...

They should update the practice mode to use a RTTS player in it..

Also, i wanna restart... I forgot to download the rosters(OS minors etc.) Do i have to redo the face and all that stuff or isthere a way to get it back -__-

After winning the World Series in my rookie year, and having a hot streak in the playoffs. I start April right where i left off. .343 AVG 7 HR 25 RBI

25 RBI is good enough to lead the AL.

I set Fielding Opportunities for my second baseman to "Some" in order to cut down on the repetitive, simple plays, but I'm thinking of turning it off because two-thirds of the fielding opportunities I deal with are just covering second on stolen base attempts.

I did this as a RF hoping to cut out all of the foul balls that go into the stands. Then i noticed that i was getting some outfield assists, so i changed it back to all opportunities.

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

Just finished up the playoffs in my rookie year and man was it a ride. In the NLDS my Cardinals took on the Rockies. We were the to team in the NL so we had home field advantage. Despite that, the Rockies went up 2-0 and we had to try to come back and win in Colorado. We get to Colorado and the first game goes to the 15th inning but we pulled out the win 6-5. The next game, we won again in extras, 5-4 in the 12th. When we went back home, it was over. We won by a large margin and advanced to the NLCS against the hated Brewers.

I didn't do anything against the Rockies so I knew I had step it up for the Brewers because we were neck and neck down to the final day of the season and it was do or die. I went OFF, hitting 4 home runs and driving in 10 runs in the series and we won in 5 games. Next up, we took on the Tigers for the title and that... Well, that didn't go well. We always took big leads to start the game, 4-0, 3-0, 5-0, but we couldn't hold it and we got swept out because their offense was just too stacked. Despite that I did manage NL Playoff MVP.

It was a really fun ride though and I resigned with the Cardinals for 4 years and 4.7 million. We made some really solid moves in the off-season most notably picking up Joe freaking Mauer and adding to our already strong lineup. I'm super stoked for the future because we have a ton of young players with A potential and we can all grow together and become a super team. This RTTS is tons of fun and it's even sweeter because this is the team that drafted me.. I know a ton of people got traded, but I was fortunate and managed to stay with my team and take them to a World Series. Now it's time to actually take home the title!

I am in my second season in my RTTS and I haven't been promoted or traded yet. My first season we won the AA title and I just made the AA All-star team in my second season. So far in my second season I am hitting .295, 9 Hrs, 42 RBI's. I am in the Red Sox's farm system and playing RF.

I think my RTTS thinks John Hart is still running the Rangers. My Tigers 2B got traded to the Cubs in July of my first season, then a week later the Cubs trade Soriano to the Rangers for Martin Perez.

Im on my second year with The Royals and my line so far is .343 10HR 27rbi...the funny thing about it was Alcides Escobar was injured for nearly a month, finally came off the DL and i received an email saying, in order to accomodate Escobar i need to be put to the bench....it took them awhile at least 7 games before i pinch hit( i dont get it) cos im hitting so well and we're in first place (21-13)..anyway finally i got another saying expect my name to be penciled everyday...so hopefully they keep me there...BTW i got called up in July last season where i hit .326 11 HR 33 rbis, in just 127 AB.....so im still eligible this season to be a rookie of the year, that's my next goal....Finally, i thought it sucks that i got traded to the Royals when i was in the minor but at least now our team is improving, its a sign of great things to come....hopefully we make it at least the playoffs...lol

I'm beginning to wonder if the sliders do a damn thing in this game. After getting entirely too frustrated with low-grade MLB pitchers consistently painting corners and never throwing mistake pitches, I had to lower the CPU pitcher control and strike frequency even further.

Result? Decided to keep track last night....91% first pitch strikes. I wish I could take screen shots of all the at-bats, showing pitch locations. You'd see a black hole in the inner 2/3 of the batter's box and just a perfect perimeter of strikes around the entire rectangle. I'm sorry, but there is such a thing ishy pitchers in the big leagues. And even the best have off games.

The guys I'm pitted against night in and out never seem to have an off game. Or throw an errant pitch for that matter. Everybody has a late-breaking slider, a ++ changeup and command that would make a robo-pitcher envious. It would also seem that every pitcher at this level just as clutch as could be. At least a few times, you figure to get a meatball pitch on 3-0? Nope....slider low and away on the black. 3-2 with 2 outs and the bases loaded? Always a pitcher's pitch strike.

C'mon, Show. I understand you want there to be an appreciable difference in batting at the AA, AAA and big league level....but this is just dumb

                          (All-Star/Zone/soon to be cpu control/strike frequency "0")

                            Daniel McWilliams, LF

Drafted by the Indians, through mid May in AA was at .411/13/49.

Then the Indians decide to trade for James Shields. In return the Rays get me, 3B Lonnie Chisenhall and SS Adolfo Baez. I am immediately promoted to starting for the AAA Durham Bulls and while saying to myself, "Quick Bat! Quick Bat! Quick Bat!" over and over again in my head I promptly go 0 for 4 in my first game.

Having a ball with this RTTS!

First year in the majors with the Jays, starting SS:

.297, 32 HR, 93 RBI, won AL ROTY. Unfortunately the Jays didn't make the playoffs, as they had traded Jose Bautista away in an unfair deal for me, and generally have a miserable bullpen. (Also, for the stats, keep in mind I use pretty easy sliders, as I'm usually a very below-average hitter. My contact and power are all in the upper 80s, though.)

So far in 2014, about through the first week in May, I'm hitting .276, 13 HR, 26 RBIs. Plan to lead the Jays to a WS, however unlikely that may be!

Right now I am the starting 3B for the rockies. I was traded from the A's earlier. Finishes third in ROY vote. Team is in the playoffs. NLDS is ties at two games a Peices vs the phillies with halladay toeing the slab...wish me luck. Lol

On a side note, has anyone noticed crazy trades in the rtts mode? Doesn't happen in franchise but in rtts its nuts. Jason heyward went to the cardinals for freeman, beltran, and berkman to name just one.
