I am starting a Padres franchise. I like Edinson Volquez okay but I don't do well with his reportoire. What teams would have been interested in him prior to the start of the season and what would his value be?

the Royals, Rockies, Twins always need SP.....and i think he's worth 2 B's at most

Twins aren't in contention, it'd be useless.

I'd go with the Royals or the Rockies, most likely the Rockies.

the OP didn't start his season yet...if that's the case, the Royals and Rockies probably wouldn't be in contention either

I could see the Royals thinking that this could be their year. That's a good thought. I doubt that COL or MIN would have felt that way.

How did Arizona and Texas feel about their pitching situation in spring training? I ask because they are the teams that the game claims is looking for SP.

well i dont know how the rosters were created as far as injuries goes but Arizona has Kennedy, Hudson, Cahill, Saunders, Miley.....Texas has Holland, Darvish, Lewis, Harrison, Oswalt, Feliz.....if a starter for Arizona falters, then maybe but not Texas....is Tulo in the Rockies everyday lineup? if so, i can see them having an outside chance of contending

I was simulating through a Franchise just for grins and saw the Trade:

                Mark Trumbo for Yonder Alonso.

I was intrigued by it because both have pretty high ceilings and are already decent ball players.

                I am curious if:

                A. Is this realistic ?
                B. (Which Player) would be better in the long run?

I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

Trumbo, he's looking like the real deal.

It isn't realistic, you never see position for position, 1 for 1 swaps.

What would be needed to make it more realistic?

Coupled with the fact that it's a 1-for-1 same position swap, it ain't happening....

I would bring this to the arbitration panel but the Indians Rep is MIA:

It's June 7th in my franchise. The Cleveland Indians got off to a good decent start (30-25) and are in 1st place (Detroit is 1 GB).

They lost 2 starting pitchers for rest of the season; Josh Tomlin and Carlos Carrasco.

Their current rotation is Jimenez, Masterson, Lowe, Robinson Tejeda, and David Huff.

Do you think they would be interested in acquiring a pitcher like Wandy Rodriquez at this time. Or would they wait till July to start shopping for a veteran arm? I'd be willing to cut them a deal and ask for a low B and a high C.

Just out of curiosity since the D-Backs are interested in trading Justin Upton or exploring the possibility, what would be a realistic return for them?

i think realistically a team would wait until late June before trading

As the Tribe are my favorite team and I have a ticket package I know alot about this team. Theyd probably wait till June or July and instead for te time being use options like Kevin Slowey or Jeanmar Gomez
