Yeah there's no way the O's give up Bundy or Machado any time in the near future (Unless it's for a guy like Felix or Verlander, who are entirely untouchable.)

What teams are out of the playoff race?

Also, I'm not sure it's really possible to get a close to MLB ready A potential pitcher unless you give up a guy like Alex Gordon, Hosmer, or the Moose which I doubt you want to do

      Halladay.

The O's are in 1st with 56-41 record and the Phils are 3.5 out of first, behind 3 teams. I can't imagine the Phils letting Doc go if they are close in the standings AND the O's giving away that many prospects especially for such an expensive player. I was wondering if I could get some help to rework the trade so the O's can get an Ace type arm without having to give up too much(I would like to see them in the playoffs just like irl). Are there any other cheaper ace types they could go after?

And I would not mind being part of a 3 team trade to acquire a close to mlb ready A prospect pitcher like Gausman or something to compliment Odorizzi, Duffy.
There is no such thing as cheap aces first off!!!
The O's could seek a C.J. Wilson type guy of maybe even Haren to beef up the roster. They would NEVER trade Muchado, especially for someone who's up there in age like Doc. Try looking at those two guys of some others like Floyd, Peavy, or maybe even Grenkie. So gave them one of these options and the should have a REAL ace.

The closest A pot. to the MLB is Rubby De La Rosa or Brett Anderson and they are EXPENSIVE

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

In year 1 of my franchise, had the Royals offer me Mike Moustakas and a prospect for A-Rod. Let it sit for a couple games and they came back with Moustakas and two A Pot. prospects (a pitcher and third base, Cuthbert and someone). Couldn't turn it down.

Then, same month (July), the Rangers want Teixiera. Same thing, A Pot., Jurickson Profar. I figured A-Rod and Jeter would retire at the end of the year and I was going nowhere fast, so I waited again and they upped the deal with another A Pot. pitcher.

Later, the Royals asked for Russell Martin for Brayan Pena. I let it wait, then they added another prospect so I did it. I have plenty of catching now and a ton of A Pot. prospects in my third year. Traded Moustakas straight up for Hosmer before the third year and he's raking.

Also traded for Brian Matusz before the deadline this season (he wasn't with the O's, I forget who it was, though).

Not to be rude, but before you criticize anyone on trades, ask yourself if it was worse than the Hernandez trade. While most of his were horrible, they weren't worse than that one.

Next step is realism. I know a Mat Latos trade isn't realistic, but we'll save that for MLB 13 The Show!!!

with all the bs trades that happened during my sim, is there anyway of rejecting trades during the off season? i've always seen done pitcher for pitcher trades and players with no contracts being traded.

Well, to be perfectly honest, I didn't intend on doing any of them when they were each first offered. I knew, however, that I'd be rebuilding soon and they were all in playoff races, so they kept upping the offers.

I didn't initiate a single one of those trades except the Hosmer-for-Moustakas move.

No, the issue was you accepting them, you took advantage of the faulty CPU logic.

Why is that my problem? Have you seen what happens if you sit around and not accept a deal? They get traded to another team anyway.

I had one franchise where a rival was built completely by trades. I looked at the roster foundation and probably 80% of its top players were acquired by trade.

I'm not trying to take advantage of the CPU, but I am certainly not tied to players like real GMs might be. I fully intended on declining the A-Rod and Tex deals from the get go, but when I need to restock my minors and they're providing the opportunity to do so (for players who are quality, by the way) I'm going to do it.

All of those prospects, with the exception of Profar, are still in the minors three years later. I have seen zero return yet aside from SS (and he's barely hitting as the No. 9 batter).

That's probably due to how you're developing them.

And I think you're missing the point here, so I'll stop.
